Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1676: Chapter 1670: The Person Who Always Burns the Kitchen

“Miss Cousin, I think your culinary skills are even better than my lady’s. In the future, maybe you could make more snacks for us to nibble on.” Rain hadn’t expected sugar to be used like this. The peanuts were fried until they were fragrant and crisp, tasting both sweet and savory, with sunflower seeds added in. This type of candy with multiple ingredients was truly a new way of eating.

“I think your lady’s cooking is better than mine. If you want to eat, you can ask your lady to teach you how to make it. That way, you can have your cravings satisfied, and your lady can benefit too, don’t you think?” Qin Xue smiled at Rain, this foodie who knew even more about eating than their Jingtao.

“As long as Miss doesn’t mind me burning the kitchen down, I’m okay with it.” Rain was good at everything else, but cooking was her weakness. No matter how much she tried, she couldn’t learn it, and it always ended up with the kitchen burnt down.

So later, Nangong Beiying issued an order, she could only help with sorting dishes and collecting plates, and wasn’t allowed to touch anything else.

That’s why she was always the one buying groceries but not the one cooking, because no one dared to let her do it — risking their lives in the process wouldn’t be worth it.

“Haha, Rain, I think only you could say that with such confidence. So when they build you an iron room, would you still be afraid of burning it?” Qin Xue found Rain truly amusing.

She had never seen anyone who could talk about their shortcomings so frankly.

“If that’s the case, then I guess someone will have to collect my charred remains.” Rain had no talent for cooking and after a few disastrous attempts, she preferred to buy food rather than try it herself.

“Is it really that exaggerated?” Qin Xue laughed, feeling the situation was getting more and more ridiculous.

“Yes.” Both Cloud and Nangong Beiying nodded, affirming Rain’s claim.

“Uh, alright then, I’ll cook for you guys in the future, but only when I have the time. Otherwise, I really don’t have the time.” Qin Xue spent most of her time on her children, and she would be even busier once she started working again.

“Of course.” Rain also knew how busy Qin Xue’s days were, so she didn’t insist on a specific time for her to cook.

“By the way, Miss Cousin, does Qing Zhu also know how to cook?” Rain remembered Qing Zhu was supposed to join them this time. If she could cook, then Rain wouldn’t have to rely solely on Qin Xue.

“I don’t know.” Qin Xue shook her head. When she met her, Qing Zhu was injured and expecting a child. When she returned to her home, she was in her confinement period, and their next meeting was only for an afternoon. When Rain asked her, she really didn’t know.

In fact, Qin Xue didn’t know much about Qing Zhu, so she couldn’t answer. To find out, it would be faster to go back and ask Qing Zhu directly.

“Alright, no matter what, we have another friend joining us, so we’ll all be busy together.” The busy Rain was referring to wasn’t about outside work but internal matters. She knew that Nangong Beiying was preparing to undertake some other ventures, and when that time came, everyone would have a role, and with so much to manage, how could they not be busy?

“Don’t worry, you won’t be too busy. In the future, you’ll mainly take care of the kids — there are five or six of them, big and small, enough to keep you occupied.” Nangong Beiying smiled. This girl’s lively nature made her the perfect choice to keep the kids entertained, something she had planned from the start.

The main idea was to set up an adult workspace in the company, with a small area for the kids to play. This way, mothers could bring their kids to work without having to stay home and put up with the whims of men for living expenses. This was her pioneering effort to provide benefits for women.
