Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1668: Chapter 1662: The Great Elder’s Worries

In Munara’s heart, her parents had always been affectionate, who knew there was such a behind-the-scenes story.

Munara could feel that there was love between her father and mother, but she never expected there was another woman in her father’s heart.

Perhaps her father loved Qing Ruqing before, but after being with her mother, he was moved by her. Although her mother was not as beautiful as Qing Ruqing, she wasn’t bad looking either. Her mother was very poetic and liked to read. Every time after laboring, Munara would see her mother with a book in her hands. She was also very good to her father, and that argument was the first time Munara had seen, which is why she felt hurt and uncomfortable.

Over the years, she struggled, thought a lot, and as time passed and with her mother’s passing, she slowly forgot. This time, with Qing Teng’s return, all these memories came back, especially since Zakeer had always liked Qing Teng, and she herself liked Zakeer, so she no longer wanted to hide things from Qing Teng.

But that night, after hearing Qing Teng’s words, she thought long and hard at home. She realized how difficult it was for Qing Teng, so her heart softened. She figured it wasn’t Qing Teng’s fault either, and Qing Teng was even more pitiable than her, considering the village gossip over the years made their lives very tough. Therefore, she decided not to treat Qing Teng harshly.

Because she, too, was lonely. Though she had the title of a lady, and her father was there to protect her, she still felt lonely and longed for someone to accompany her for various reasons.

Munara just wanted to accept Qing Teng, and once she made that decision, she no longer found Qing Teng as detestable as she previously had, nor as hateful. On the contrary, she found her rather nice.

This time, without a word, she left a note and ran away with Qing Teng, explaining the reason in the letter, trusting her father would not blame her.

Now, the elder in the village was reading the letter left by his beloved daughter. He had come to her room as usual to call her for dinner but felt something amiss when the room was quiet. Pushing the door open, he found it empty.

After scanning the room, he noticed the letter on the table. He was puzzled about why there was a letter, and upon seeing the handwriting, he thought of something but still held onto a sliver of hope that it wasn’t what he thought.

After reading its contents, he was stunned. He didn’t expect his daughter to know about this long-buried secret in his heart.

Seeing his daughter’s intention to make amends with Qing Teng, he felt both glad and hurt. The elder gazed out the window, lost in thought for a long time, then carefully folded the letter back into its envelope and put it into his pocket. Well, his daughter had grown up and become sensible. It was also good for her to go out there and experience the world, and having the two sisters together could provide mutual care.

He was nearing forty, and if the Holy Maiden’s methods proved ineffective, who would care for Nala after he was gone? So his daughter’s decision was something he had initially considered. It was only because of his deep-seated guilt that he couldn’t bring himself to ask Qing Teng to take his daughter. But he hadn’t expected his daughter to make the decision herself.

This could be considered a relief upon his mind. In the future, he would only need to take care of himself, letting everything else unfold naturally.

As the elder sighed, he also let go of something, hoping that from now on, they would all be well. As long as Qing Teng could take Nala, it meant she didn’t harbor the same lack of feelings towards her as she did towards him, and that was enough.

To be honest, the elder’s actions were truly biased, particularly unfair to Qing Teng. Yet he did it anyway, and he could only say sorry to Qing Ruqing and Qing Teng.
