Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1405: Sunrise Inner City Part 22

Once everyone realized the enemies were behaving no differently than players, they all came to an understanding of how cooked they were.

Cooked... a term that literally means they were screwed.

Nevertheless, they didn’t panic or begin making mistakes.

They were merely discussing it to keep their emotions intact and the atmosphere lighthearted. After all, a tense atmosphere tends to make one’s movements very rigid.

Xu Feng also didn’t stop their teasing remarks because he understood their intention.

If he wasn’t the leader and needed to remain composed. Then he would have also done the same and possibly joined in on the fun.

Alas, he was the guild leader and couldn’t afford to do so.

”Don’t feel too bad about being left out.” Carmen approached him and whispered softly.

One might think she was consoling, but they would be incorrect.

”My voidling discovered the enemies to be numbered in 10, so please get to work instead of sulking. Also, I doubt the voidling detected them, but rather the enemies allowed themselves to be spotted.”

’Hah, am I really the leader or a tool for them to use?’ Xu Feng smiled bitterly and glanced at the dark area.

Even without the voidling detecting them, his magical perception was able to sense them.

Needless to say, it was definitely because the enemies wanted to lure them into a big trap.

”Ah, it’s times like this where I miss Stellshot.” Xu Feng lamented. If the latter were here, then he could have pulled off the same baiting strategy just like he did during the first hell mode difficult dungeon run.

He was certain that Steelshot would gladly volunteer to contribute the honor of being the sacrificial pawn again.

”Who is this Steelshot?” Carmen was curious.

What type of person could be that amazing for him to remember so deeply?

Were they a big pro?

Or a high ranker?

...

Dawnshire City, Silver Wind Guild Residence

”ACHOOOO!”

Out of nowhere, in the guild residence, Steelshot suddenly sneezed so loudly that it alarmed many members.

”What’s wrong with you, Steelshot?” SilentWhisper raised an eyebrow and asked in concern.

They were just discussing how to get supplies for their guild when he suddenly sneezed aloud.

Steelshot rubbed his arms a few times and showed a pale face. ”I don’t know either, but I felt like someone was holding a knife next to my neck just now.”

SilentWhisper nodded her head in understanding. ”Got it, I’ll dial a mental hospital number for you now. Rest assured, we’re fellow guildies, so I’ll have them treat you really well.”

”...”

Steelshot was about to say something until the two of them received a message from their Guild Leader, aka Gentle Wind.

And as soon as they finished reading it, both of their expressions changed.

One was petrified, whereas the other one was amused.

”Haha, no wonder you sneezed. It seems like your calling is here.” SilentWhisper covered her mouth and giggled.

”I hate you so much...” Steelshot felt like crying. After all, the message told them to begin heading over to Haven Wind Town.

What was Haven Wind Town?

That was the town owned and operated by the Vanguard Guild.

And who led the Vanguard Guild?

It was none other than the Guild Leader Lin Feng, from whom Steelshot has had PTSD ever since he got chosen as the one to be bait.

Precisely because of that baiting strategy, he became typecast in this role at almost every dungeon raid he did.

Whenever they needed a baiter or a sacrificial pawn, he would be unanimously voted.

Their reason?

The Vanguard Guild Leader complimented your agility, so we have confidence in your skills. You did it well during the early stages, so you must have improved by then!

To hell with this improvement!!!

’What did I do to suffer this kind of fate?’ Steelshot truly regretted being such a loudmouth back then. That one mistake had become his nightmare daily.

Nevertheless, the two still got ready to head toward Haven Wind Town. Of course, SilentWhisper made sure to repeatedly remind Steelshot of his glorious moment frequently.

Poor Steelshot could only sulk and pray silently for the best.

Inner Sunrise City Dungeon

While Steelshot believed himself to be quite unlucky, someone had joined his plight.

”Blade, you were pretty amazing over there.” Xu Feng gently patted Lightning Blade’s shoulder.

”Hehe, thank you, Guild Leader.” Unaware of the meaning behind the patting, Lightning Blade scratched his head and smiled sheepishly.

However, if Steelshot was present, his first advice to Lightning Blade was to run.

Because right after the compliment, Xu Feng flashed a bright, wide smile.

”How’s your agility so far compared to the rest?” He raised the question and asked in concern.

’The Guild Leader is finally noticing my effort.’ Feeling giddy, Lightning Blade puffed his chest and pounded it a few times.

”I don’t dare to claim to be first, but I’m sure if I claim to be the second fastest in here. No one would dare to call themselves first.” He proclaimed.

Although it sounded like he was being humble in saying he was second, the truth was that he wanted to say nobody could beat him in terms of agility.

Toward this point, Dark Night had to admit it as well, despite being the guild’s top assassin.

After all, they had a tag contest the other day, and Lightning Blade was way too elusive for him to land a hit.

”Wow, so your speed is good.” Xu Feng nodded and wrapped his arm around his shoulder. His action quickly made everyone envious and jealous of Lightning Blade.

However, that enviousness was quickly replaced with sneering and sneaky laughter.

”Since you’re so speedy, help the guild out by being the bait. Please charge straight ahead and get as much aggro as you can. We will assist you from behind.”

”I go and be a bait?” Dumbfounded, Lightning Blade’s eyes lost some color as he pointed at himself.

”That’s right, Mr. Agility Man.” Xu Feng chuckled heartily and pointed at the dark alley. ”Show us your speed, Blade!”
