Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 992: Electronic VIP Ticket

Knowing that Erica was probably still faring well, Xu Feng no longer worried about her. A family issue was definitely not something he could just intervene in.

Not only was it impolite, but it was an overstep of his boundary.

”Somehow, my initial plan succeeded, but it’s not a great feeling.” Since living together with Erica, they might have interacted very briefly. But those brief interactions were delightful and he didn’t hold any disgust whatsoever.

A part of him had adapted to the situation and her presence already. So to suddenly become alone, it felt like he lost something.

Shaking his head, Xu Feng ultimately stopped trying to ponder the matter and dialed Zhao Kai.

Almost immediately, Zhao Kai picked up the phone and was sobbing on the other end. ”Feng Bro, you finally got out of the Divine World. Do you know how much I have been suffering thanks to your scheme?”

”How can you be suffering, Kai? You’re an illegitimate son who is now legally in the family.”

”Screw that! I’d rather never be welcomed back into the Zhao Family. I really regret feeling the need to return when it’s a complete trap!”

”I’m sure I told you about it before, but you never listened.” Xu Feng laughed. As an orphan, he was always distanced from the word, family.

Moreover, the fact that Zhao Kai’s family knew about his existence, but never came in touch with him further solidified Xu Feng’s mindset.

”I was wrong, Feng. Now, please come and rescue me. The two elders, Alfred and Ning Huo, are literally killing me with their training sets. If it weren’t for the techniques you gave me previously, you would have seen my corpse.” Zhao Kai cried aloud.

Before Xu Feng could even respond, he heard another voice through the phone.

”Oh, who are you saying is killing you?”

”E-Elder Alfred?”

”Hmm, I was sure that I had warned solemnly that no phones or any electronics are allowed during this period. Who are you contacting? Is it that little girlfriend of yours? What’s her name again? Was it Lynette?”

”No, Elder Alfred. I’m talking with Xu Feng right now.” Zhao Kai nearly had a meltdown upon Alfred bringing up the name of his current girlfriend. If Alfred went ahead and chatted with Lynette, then the one who would be doomed was him.

After all, Lynette also knew he had an important competition coming up and warned him not to be distracted whatsoever. He had to listen to the elders’ training arrangement.

Meanwhile, Alfred’s eyes lit up when he realized Zhao Kai was actually talking with the elusive Xu Feng.

Ever since the home invasion incident, Alfred never got the chance to interact with this talented individual.

It got him so frustrated that he even requested his niece Allison to be the middle person to help him establish contact. Yet never once did he imagine Allison would refuse his request and even told him to initiate the contact himself if he was capable.

When had his niece ever rejected his request? Not to mention, he wasn’t the type to make requests lightly either.

Soon, Alfred snatched the phone from Zhao Kai with lightning speed as he asked, ”Hello, Xu Feng? I’m Alfred, the uncle of Allison who was once your professor. Do you remember me?”

Back on the other side, Xu Feng was left speechless. ’Why did Kai even put the phone on speaker to begin with?’

Thanks to Zhao Kai putting his phone on speaker, he overheard everything, including how Zhao Kai was caught more than once in sneaking contact with his girlfriend.

”Elder Alfred, of course, I remember you. During the home invasion incident, you arrived at Allison’s home and resolved the aftermath.” Xu Feng kept a humble tone and responded.

”Haha, I see. I’m glad that you remember me. My niece is already disregarding me.” Alfred laughed heartily and proceeded to gossip a little bit about Allison.

He had been ignored by his dear niece ever since she encountered one of her friends at Avalon City.

When Xu Feng heard that, he instantly thought of Rebecca.

After all, he and Zhao Kai met the two at the bar back when they were trying to establish some connection.

It was just a shame that it ended up in failure, but that was just how life was. Not everything would go your way, and forcing the issue was not Xu Feng’s style.

”Anyway, Elder Alfred, I’m calling Kai because I know the first competition is happening today. I plan on going to cheer him up. I hope you don’t mind.” Unwilling to stray from the objective, Xu Feng ended their conversation short and stated his intention.

”Oh, there’s no problem with you joining us to spectate. There’s a ticket ready for you, and I’m sure my niece will finally respond to me once she learns you will be joining.” Alfred was delighted and quickly said all the necessary details.

After a short exchange, Xu Feng ended the call and received the electronic ticket for the competition. Surprisingly, it was a VIP ticket, offering the greatest view and services.

”Life really does go up and down.” Xu Feng mused.

Back then, he could barely scrape for the lowest ticket ever. Now, without much effort exerted, he was able to receive the highest ticket.

Sometime later, Xu Feng changed into some casual clothes and headed to the parking lot. Unlike the previous time when he received many chance encounters with influential figures, this time, he didn’t meet anyone and smoothly entered the vehicle.

”Good evening, Young Master. What will be your destination?” Vera’s voice instantly resounded and inquired about the destination.

Vera was the built-in AI system in the vehicle and Xu Feng simply linked in with his smartphone.

In the blink of an eye, Vera began operating the car and driving.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng relaxed at the back and began browsing through the latest news.

”Seems like many players are taking a break to spectate their own city competition.” He was looking forward to the competition.
