Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 960: One Vs One

Once everyone was done grouping, the representatives began to look at each other to see if they could start the second round.

Since the System still allowed players to decide when to begin the next round, everyone took advantage of it to rest. Moreover, they were discussing the systemʼs player count bug and the possibilities of its meaning.

And without much surprise, most of the players derived the same conclusion that Xu Feng held.

Toward this, even Carmen realized that besides her Guild Leader, the true elite and veterans were also very slick and clever.

ʼNo wonder the Guild Leader is still so cautious. There are actually so many other talents hiding under the radar.ʼ Carmen finally comprehended something major. Based on the current outlook of the Vanguard Guild, she felt that it was very impressive.

However, now that she was physically surrounded by many super guilds, she realized it wasnʼt that impressive.

Of course, she wasnʼt trying to demean her own guild, but the other super guilds truly had superior resources compared to them.

She reckoned that if they were to declare a guild war against one of them like they did to MIST, the battle would be very difficult to win. Ultimately, resources, financial capability, and manpower were the main factors.

”What are you thinking about?” Suddenly, Xu Fengʼs voice broke off her chain of thoughts.

”Nothing, I just think that we should still be steady and not complacent in our guildʼs development.” Carmen snapped out of it and said very solemnly. She was definitely complacent as of late, given her recent achievements and skills.

But if she were told to compete against this many players at once, she honestly couldnʼt imagine winning overwhelmingly.

Having learned from Xu Feng, she believed that only when one could dominate and overwhelm the opponent completely should one make a move.

Naturally, if there were special circumstances, then one could just throw away such beliefs and follow their heart. Otherwise, constantly being suppressed would simply make one go insane.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng was somewhat confused by Carmen. He remained unaware of her enlightenment.

Although he wanted to inquire further, the representatives had already commenced the second round.

At that moment, the familiar system prompt appeared in front of everyone.

System Notification: The second round of the Hall of Resonance Trial has commenced. To ensure that everyone would get a chance, the eliminated players from the first round could challenge the surviving players from the first round to take away their spot.

The system promptʼs meaning was unexpected. To summarize, its intention was that if there were also empty spots, one could directly ascend to them. However, the premise is that the player must possess a Resonance Shard and use it to be granted the opportunity.

”Damn, so the second round is really a one vs one.”

”Crap, the eliminated players would definitely target those who made them eliminated in the first place.”

”What are you worrying about? The system mentioned something about the Resonance Shard as payment. I donʼt know what it is, but I highly doubt the eliminated player has one.”

As the crowd went from stunned to bewildered, they were all informed of one important aspect. The Resonance Shard should be a major item in the trial.

To be able to receive a chance to continue the trial just because you possess one meant a lot of things.

However, the system wasnʼt done, and even added another notification to ensure everyone would know what to do.

System Notification: Resonance Shard could be traded among players. Surviving players could trade one of them to the eliminated player to help bring them back.

Despite seeing the new system prompt, many players frowned deeply.

It sounded beautiful and a great chance to bring back their fallen allies.

However, the premise was that one was willing to use their Resonance Shard to follow through.

Nobody in the scene was a fool. They all understood the significance of the item now that the System had even made another emphasis on it.

”A Resonance Shard, huh.” Xu Feng suddenly stroked his chin and glanced around the Floral Branch. ”Do any of you know what it is?”

Most of the players in the Floral Branch remained silent.

Despite their silences, Xu Feng could still pick up a few things or two.

ʼSo the Floral Branch already obtained some, huh.ʼ He deduced silently. If they really didnʼt know anything about it, then they would have said something in response.

Instead, they kept silent and tried to put on an innocent expression. It was apparent that they might have been banned from revealing any information regarding the matter from Floral Witch.

And this also highlights that their relationship was really on the verge of collapsing.

If they wish to conceal such information from them, then what kind of cooperation was there to talk about?

Of course, Xu Feng also couldnʼt blame them when he was acting the same.

There was no way he would reveal to anyone that he had possession of such an item either.

Just when the crowd was discussing the item, a challenger had finally appeared.

System Notification: Eliminated Player Kelso had paid a Resonance Shard to challenge surviving player Reckonizer!

Everyoneʼs eyes widened in shock at the system prompt.

”Kelso? Isnʼt he the branch leader of the Lightning branch of the Cyclone Guild?”

”Wait a second. Isnʼt Kelsoʼs death supposed to relate to the Darkness Branch leader, Donald? What made him challenge a random like Reckonizer for?”

”More like, who is Recknozier?”

”I do you one better. Why is Reckonizer?”

The crowd was stupefied by the opponent that Kelso chose. After all, everyone witnessed the scene of Fernando cursing and yelling at Donald for Kelsoʼs downfall.

Yet the supposed victim was spearheading someone else named Reckonizer?

How could they not be shocked?

But no matter how shocked they were, they could never surpass the real Reckonizer who was hiding among the external force playerʼs side.

”What the actual fuck?” Reckonizer raised an eyebrow and cursed vulgarly. He had been hiding and camping like some bystander, so how did he suddenly become a target to be replaced?

No, more importantly, why did the challenger pick him to replace when there were 10 empty spots!

You could have just picked one empty spot to come over to the winning side!
