Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 977: Bloom, Fanatic Swordsman

”Were you two betting on me?” Evelyn suddenly raised the question when she watched how Xu Feng gave a gold coin to Carmen.

”Yeah,” Xu Feng responded nonchalantly. ”She predicted that you would be the first to pass, so now Iʼve lost.”

”Hehe, itʼs a gut instinct.” Carmen smiled cheekily. ”It still stemmed from the basis that sheʼs beyond shameless. Only shameless people live long while honest people die early. Itʼs a given that she will pass first.”

Evelynʼs face twitched slightly. Initially, she was about to praise Carmen for having good eyesight, but now she took those back.

ʼHmph, how uncouth.ʼ She thought to herself and stood to the side.

After passing the first aptitude test, she didnʼt dare to relax her mindset. She needed to continue to hone them to face the second aptitude test.

The second determined oneʼs reaction, so she had to be in perfect form to increase her reaction speed. Otherwise, she would be eliminated, and that would definitely become a topic of discussion for Carmen to use.

”Wow, she didnʼt get angry or even try to argue with me,” Carmen exclaimed in amazement.

”She can see that you spoke those words earlier on purpose.” Xu Feng shook his head and had an impulse to flick her forehead.

How could he not tell her little scheme?

Carmen didnʼt speak out of turn, but was rather trying to affect Evelyn into reacting to her comments.

Unfortunately, the scheme was simply too childish and obvious. Only an idiot would become provoked and fall for her scheme.

”You need to strive better if you want to affect others.” He gently advised.

Although he knew she wouldnʼt be successful in the blink of an eye, he did hope that she would learn and slowly adapt to how people scheme against others.

Even this kind of aspect took him decades to master, and still, he wouldnʼt consider himself as a mastermind. There were too many masterminds who had a ton of abilities and remained hidden.

People who hailed from the Illuminati were precisely one of those whom Xu Feng dreaded and was wary of.

”Alright, Iʼll listen to the Guild Leader.” Carmen analyzed that her words were indeed too obvious to manipulate Evelyn. ”How about the Guild Leader go and provoke the next successful person to show me an example?”

”...”

Xu Feng twitched his brows slightly.

Was she that talented?

Others might not know what the suggestion meant, but how could he not?

Just earlier, he had chosen Floral Witch as the fastest candidate to pass.

However, she ultimately lost to Evelyn. Therefore, if Floral Witch was indeed the next person to pass, then wouldnʼt he have to provoke her to demonstrate it to Carmen?

”You are really a sly one.” He took a deep breath and said.

”Not sly enough if you figured out my intention.” She spread her arms and shook her head. She already knew he would deduce her real intention, but she didnʼt expect him to understand almost immediately.

ʼThe Guild Leader is definitely very manipulative to know it right away.ʼ She sighed and realized there was a long path to go if she wanted to scheme against someone like Xu Feng.

Time quickly went by, and the next person to succeed had emerged.

It wasnʼt Floral Witch or an enemy of theirs. By enemy, it meant those from the Malefic Order Guild.

”Hmm, I remembered her.” Carmen clasped her hands. ”Sheʼs Bloom, a representative for the Mistwalkers Guild.”

Given that Bloom was at the center of a large crowd in the very beginning before the trial commenced, Carmen had some recollection of her.

Moreover, she was one of the very few female Swordsman Class that Carmen had met. Thus, she had more of a recollection compared to the others.

Bloom also happened to overheard Carmenʼs words, so she shifted her gaze toward her. The deposition and aura within her was somewhat cold and sharp, a great sign to those who loved the sword.

Even though the Divine World was considered a video game to most, Bloom was a trained swordsman in the real world. The things she failed to comprehend in the real world were easier to comprehend in the Divine World.

Hence, she never regarded the Divine World as some mere video game. In fact, she even actively played the Divine World just to hone her swordsmanʼs skill and improve her mindset.

Only with a steady and clear mindset could one produce a beautiful sword strike.

Xu Feng also knew about such theories that some real-life players had toward the sword.

He encountered some fanatics in the past timeline and understood their willpower was greater than the average player from the start.

It was just a pity that Xu Feng didnʼt pay much attention to the representatives, so he failed to recognize Bloom from earlier.

”Aish, if I knew she was a swordsman fanatic, then I would have chosen her instead of Floral Witch.” Xu Feng smacked his forehead and lamented greatly.

”But what a great pity. Her willpower is still lacking a lot, otherwise, she wouldnʼt have been the second place to pass the aptitude test. Instead, she would have been first. Itʼs definitely not an oversight in my judgment.”

Bloomʼs body flinched a bit when she heard Xu Feng mention that her willpower was lacking. She nearly wanted to scoff at him because he didnʼt follow the rules and directly bypassed the necessity to undergo the trial.

However, what stopped her was the fact that someone else had defeated her in terms of speed to pass the willpower aptitude.

Her battle spirit was lifted, and she hurriedly scanned the surroundings.

Sure enough, her emotion was slightly affected when she spotted Evelyn from afar. The latter had her eyes closed, almost as if she was honing her mentality for the upcoming aptitude test.

Provoked, Bloom clenched her fist and found it hard to believe she had lost to someone else.

ʼThe Malefic Order Guild sure knows how to conceal deeply. To think their strongest wasnʼt CarnageBound, but a small elite member, Evelyn.ʼ

As a representative, Bloom naturally had lots of details regarding other Super Guilds. Hence, she wasnʼt foreign to Evelynʼs identity and her rank in the guild.

With Bloomʼs battle spirit rising and her mentality slightly affected, she took a deep breath and walked to another area to hone her mindset.
