Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 968: Consequence Of Their Action

While Floral Witchʼs side agreed to search and regroup with Xu Fengʼs group, on the far side, Xu Feng and Carmen were restless.

Some time had already gone by since Xu Feng made his decision to rush toward the exit path.

However, as they continued to advance deeper, their expressions darkened.

”This is already the 7th section that we see has been trampled,” Carmen said solemnly. Her eyes gazed at the destroyed territory and the aftermath of a deadly battle. There were traces of battle everywhere, but no presence could be found.

Xu Feng squatted down and inspected the battle marks. There were no player counts available for them to see on the sky anymore, given there were no restrictions on the limit of how many players could pass.

And it was precisely because of this that Xu Feng was more wary than ever.

Without any notice of how many players were eliminated in the third round, he reckoned that the player count must have been halved already from the initial 50.

Given that the place they were in was extremely far from the starting point, Xu Feng believed that the current aftermath was done by those who had rushed ahead from the beginning.

And it was evident that the temptation of killing the Brown Fold Elephants was no longer suppressed. In the end, it finally resulted in the elephants within this section exploding in anger and committing a bloodbath.

”I donʼt know whether weʼre lucky or unlucky.” Xu Feng exhaled softly.

With so many battle marks, it was fortunate that they didnʼt encounter the enraged elephants. But at the same time, it could mean the exit path might not be around the vicinity.

If the exit path had been in the vicinity, then the battle marks wouldnʼt have been so fierce. These players werenʼt stupid and would have long rushed toward the exit to escape upon sensing the danger instead of fighting here.

”Should we turn around then?” Carmen suddenly asked. She had come to a similar conclusion as Xu Feng and believed their ongoing path might have been incorrect.

”No, itʼs too late.”

After saying that, he opened his map and tracked how far they had already walked.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and he took a deep breath. ”We can only continue to gamble now. If we return now, the danger would only be worse.”

”Do you mean the elephantʼs riot had already begun?” Carmen could only think of this factor.

And she would be correct in that aspect. The riot had already occurred from their position, so it would be ridiculous to believe elsewhere would be safe.

”Only a little bit over half an hour went by. I reckon this is a real nightmare.” Xu Feng commented.

Now that the first half hour has gone by, the players who committed a mass killing of the elephants must now face the consequences of their actions.

Carmen frowned a bit and wondered if they had been implicated by those greedy players. ʼDamn it, if weʼre going to get implicated in the end, then we might as well kill a few more for the Resonance Shard.ʼ

She was feeling regretful of the missed opportunity. Of course, she wouldnʼt be resentful or blame Xu Feng for the decision.

However, her expression was hard to ignore, especially when she only revealed her true thoughts in front of Xu Feng. If there were outsiders, then her face would be as cold as a stone.

”I still donʼt think we should get blood on our hands,” Xu Feng smiled bitterly.

”I get it. To avoid being implicated and targeted by the elephants, right?” Carmen raised her hand and halted him from explaining.

”Iʼve killed many monsters to level up quickly, and I noticed some of them have unique properties. Occasionally, the monster I killed would have the same type of monsters chasing after me in the field, almost as if they knew I had killed their kind before.”

”Oh, so you already knew about it?”

”Yes,” Carmen seemed annoyed when she heard his somewhat startled tone.

Was she that unreliable?

She was the number one highest player in the level ranking!

As long as she decided to go public and announced her level rank, then the so-called number one in the level ranking would become nothing more than a joke.

”Anyway, weʼre getting a bit sidetracked here.” She hurriedly said.

”Agreed!”

Sometime later, the two began to increase their pace, and as they took some detours to avoid many monsters, the chaos in the field was officially known.

”Run, people!”

”The elephants went berserk. One attack from their long nose would instantly kill us!”

”Scatter across and search for the exit. Forget about the Resonance Shard!”

Players began to understand the terror of a supposedly defenseless elephant that could go berserk and unleash a wave of fear among them.

Driftcore received the heaviest hit, with their leader, Shaun, being killed in one hit and made an example for all.

Shaun killed the most elephants, with his goal being to gather as many Resonance Shards as he could to offer them up to CarnageBound.

Unfortunately, his kill count couldnʼt balance with his horrible luck, which only nabbed him with the least amount of Resonance Shard possible. As if that wasnʼt enough to cause him to be depressed, all his Resonance Shards vanished from his inventory as soon as he died.

Of course, this particular incident was still kept in the dark from everyone.

After all, Shaun was dead in the third round, and the dead couldnʼt speak anymore.

Screaming began to echo everywhere. This was to not only warn the rest, but also to gather everyone to start grouping up to defend themselves.

Only if they were grouped together could they stand a chance against the berserk elephants.

While everyone ran amok in a panic to gather around, from afar, Floral Witch realized she had made the correct decision.

ʼThe elephants were all within the back. If we had remained there, then we would have been surrounded.ʼ She thought to herself. Her back had a cold chill when she tried to imagine herself being surrounded by the berserk elephants.
