Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 770: Evolution

The atmosphere between the two became somewhat awkward when Carmen was less than pleased about Xu Fengʼs question.

After all, it was the equivalent of accusing her of concealing the matter and only informing him now.

”You know thatʼs not what I meant.” Xu Feng said bitterly and tried to clarify himself. He was never the type to be against someone keeping a secret.

Everyone had their own secret, and it was only natural for them to not want to reveal it.

The only reason why he would be mad or displeased was if that kind of secret was harmful to the guild or the guild members itself.

For Carmenʼs secret, that was just about keeping her trump card to herself and Xu Feng would never be mad about it.

Had Carmen discovered it long ago and decided not to tell him, then he would be fine about it. The only pity would be that he couldnʼt plan ahead to help progress her improvement faster.

Thankfully, Carmen didnʼt seem to veer off the track and understood what Xu Feng truly meant.

”Hmph, I expect you to agree to my demand now.” She declared.

Nodding, Xu Feng no longer had a reason to deny her. As for his plan to invite Zhao Kai, it had to be shelved.

ʼSorry buddy, but you arenʼt a priority.ʼ Xu Feng thought. He might have pulled some strings to promote him, but that was about it.

He was against nepotism, so till now, he had been pushing Zhao Kai to the maximum to ensure he was worthy of the rank. If Zhao Kai were to fail to meet his expectation, then Xu Feng could only apologize and demote him.

Xu Feng sighed and agreed to her demand which wasnʼt really a demand, to begin with. Had she revealed that she needed monsters to absorb to grow stronger, then he would have chosen her for it from the start.

However, one thing that did surprise him was the fact that she had information regarding the Cyclone Guild.

”Are you sure youʼre not some rich heiress?” Xu Feng questioned.

”Hmm, I was sure the Guild Leader is not the type to pry information from others, but I supposed the Honorary Elder is different,” Carmen responded in a roundabout way.

Although she was dodging the question, Xu Feng realized he had indeed overstepped his line.

”Apologies, you can forget about my question.” Xu Feng scratched his head and turned his attention to the merged Colossus.

Despite their conversation, it became apparent that the merged Colossus was still rendered helpless by Carmenʼs power.

Not only was it swarmed by a group of powerful evolved voidlings, but it was also continuously weakened. Their resistance was completely of no use against Carmenʼs voidlings.

”What is the current evolved level of your voidlings? They could actually shatter the merged Colossusʼ resistance and cause it to be vulnerable.” Xu Feng was amazed.

The merged Colossus was indeed a terrifying elite boss type to deal against but in the face of Carmen. It became a laughing joke.

After all, a skill capable of shattering an enemyʼs resistance and inflicting them enough to reveal vulnerabilities was extremely difficult to acquire.

Now, it could be said the merged Colossus was no different than a regular mob, except with a high health points count.

”Evolution level?” Meanwhile, Carmen paused for a moment to check on her voidlings data. ”They donʼt have a level, only some version.”

Realization quickly dawned upon Xu Feng. The voidlings couldnʼt be categorized in the level system of the Divine World. Instead, they were defined by their version which was essentially a different type of measurement.

There were multiple types of similar creatures—his Abyssal Phantom included.

His Abyssal Phantom was still considered version 1, which should be equivalent to a level of 10-30. As for what level exactly, Xu Feng had no idea since the information was hidden.

”I suppose itʼs version 2 then.” Xu Feng commented. Version 2 was for levels between 31-50. Of course, that could be subject to change either.

The information was merely a compile of data gathered by players who willingly shared theirs for everyone to get a gist of the understanding.

Yet much to his surprise, Carmen shook her head and replied, ”Nope, my powerful voidlings are all version 3. Only a few of them were still version 2.”

THUD!

Finally, Xu Feng had reached his limit of comprehension. He had plopped to the ground, completely bewildered and stunned.

”Version 3… just what kind of monsters were you hunting?” Xu Feng uttered in disbelief.

”Hmm, itʼs the secret area.” Carmen was about to reveal the Twilight Glades but recalled that they were being streamed by OneManMedia, albeit at a far distance.

Nevertheless, she dared not risk anything and chose to use the term secret as a replacement.

Luckily, Xu Feng wasnʼt a fool to not understand what she meant by secret area.

ʼRight, the Twilight Glades had monsters at level 35 and above.ʼ The monstersʼ level only rises further as you go deeper into the map. It wouldnʼt even be surprising to encounter monsters at level 70s plus.

After all, the location he chose was something that could be used for a very long time and not just some short-term leveling.

And Xu Feng didnʼt wish to even ask what level of monsters she had been grinding on, lest his heart might truly receive another emotional damage.

The evolution of her voidlings to version 3 was already enough information.

”Ugh, no wonder the difficulty level had increased. It was indeed because of an abnormality.” Xu Feng murmured, his eyes darting to Carmen.

The abnormality was never him or his debuff potions. It was in fact Carmen the entire time. His debuff potions were indeed good, but it was under the pretext that it could work.

Against the merged Colossus whose resistance could deflect the debuff, it became a pile of garbage liquid. But Carmen on the other hand easily butcher that resistance.

”Oh, the merged Colossus is down to its 10% health. You should get ready to step on it.” Carmen suddenly informed him after she went to check on the progress.
