Online Games: Billions Spent on In-app Purchases, Archery Becomes a God

Event ended! Tons of treasure chests awarded! Purple-gold artifacts obtained! The moment the announcement rang out, everyone simultaneously stopped their actions.

A countdown began in the dungeon, with only 120 seconds remaining before the dungeon would be completely and permanently closed.

Countless people looked at their points, and at the same time, paid attention to the leaderboard.

On the four-country leaderboard, the Xia Country Server Region undeniably held the top spot with over 3 billion points!

The points of the Lighthouse Country, Little Sun Country, and Big Stick Country had dropped so low that their own mothers wouldn’t want to look at them, not even coming close to a fraction of the Xia Country Server Region’s total.

This was, of course, thanks to Ye Xingyu’s powerful performance, and how he intensely motivated a wave of Xia Country Server Region players, dampening the enthusiasm of players from the other three countries.

This is why the Xia Country Server Region was able to dominate the top of the four-country leaderboard.

On the individual points leaderboard for the Xia Country Server Region, Ye Xingyu stood above the rest with 1.0072 billion points.

He alone contributed one-third of the total points for the Xia Country Server Region.

No one could catch up to him.

Ever since the call was issued on the Xia Country Server Region forums, Ye Xingyu had been sweeping maps for nearly 12 hours straight!

He severely curbed the arrogance of the Little Sun Country, Dabang people, and Lighthouse Country!

Earning such a high score was well-deserved and aligned with what most players remembered.

After 120 seconds, the event concluded successfully!

Everyone was completely enveloped by a dense white light and then teleported out of the dungeon.

With a flash of light, Ye Xingyu reappeared in the central plaza of Chunming City.

Around him, dazzling white light continuously emerged, as new players constantly returned to the starting point.

“Ding! Congratulations on your outstanding performance in the Thousand Autumn Water Forest event dungeon! You ranked first on the Xia Country Server Region points leaderboard! Reward: one dark gold artifact gift box!”

“Whoosh—!”

A notification sounded in Ye Xingyu’s ear.

He had obtained a dark gold artifact gift box through this event!

A dark gold artifact gift box!

It guaranteed a dark gold grade gift, and possibly more than one.

It was truly exciting!

A surge of ecstasy welled up in Ye Xingyu’s heart.

If this dark gold artifact gift was a piece of equipment, he could even use his talent to upgrade it to a purple gold artifact!

How awesome!

Not far from him, countless other players cheered in unison:

“The system rewarded me with a silver grade treasure chest! I can get a silver artifact for free! Yes!”

“Huh? Why did I only get a bronze grade treasure chest?”

“Because I have 12,000 points! How many do you have?”

“Uh (⊙o⊙)... Never mind, it’s fine (`へ´*)ノ”

...Many Xia Country Server Region players were celebrating!

The Xia Country Server Region taking first place on the four-country leaderboard meant that Xia Country Server Region players received hundreds of millions more treasure chests of different grades compared to players from the Little Sun Country, Dabang people, and Lighthouse Country.

This was equivalent to an additional hundred million pieces of equipment, items, and skill books!

For the overall strength of Xia Country Server Region players, this was undoubtedly a massive boost!

It made everyone more competitive!

It was an absolutely good thing!

Hearing the lively cheers of the surrounding players, Ye Xingyu also showed a joyful expression.

He directly tore a return-to-city scroll and teleported back to his large villa.

Time to happily open treasure chests~

“Ding! Opening dark gold artifact gift box! Congratulations on obtaining—Blazing Sun Robe, and Striking Quiver!”

“Oh! I actually got an extremely rare Archer class accessory equipment—a quiver!”

Ye Xingyu’s heart rejoiced.

He immediately grabbed the Striking Quiver into his hand.

【Striking Quiver!】

Part: Accessory—Quiver

Quality: dark gold!

Level: None

Maximum arrow storage quantity: 1500

Unique Effect:

Arrows stored in this quiver, when used, increase the arrow’s physical attack by 70%.

—

“Wow—!”

This was the first time Ye Xingyu had obtained a quiver with an additional effect.

It could add 70% physical attack to arrows.

Compared to quivers without effects, it was like wearing an extra piece of equipment, giving a huge advantage!

Furthermore, the Striking Quiver’s maximum arrow storage quantity reached a full 1500 arrows!

Compared to ordinary quivers, which typically have a maximum capacity of only 200 arrows, this saved a lot of loading time and also saved backpack space!

However, Ye Xingyu chuckled, reaching out to stroke the surface of the Striking Quiver.

“Ding! You can consume 1 million gold coins to upgrade the quality of the Striking Quiver to purple gold grade. Do you choose to upgrade?”

“Hiss—!”

From dark gold to purple gold, the gold coin cost for upgrading increased by a full 10 times!

The price was substantial!

However, in deep space, there was an insurmountable chasm between dark gold artifacts and purple gold artifacts.

【Plain, Black Iron, bronze, Silver, Gold, dark gold, purple gold, epic, legendary, myth...】

Having experienced the later stages, Ye Xingyu knew that equipment before purple gold grade was collectively referred to as unranked equipment in the later stages.

Only from purple gold grade onwards—purple gold, epic, legendary, myth...—were considered ranked equipment.

The gap between ranked and unranked was like that between innate and acquired; no amount of effort could bridge the chasm.

Therefore, upgrading from dark gold to purple gold was an ascension.

Ye Xingyu had this opportunity and chose to upgrade without hesitation!

“Whoosh la la la~~~~” (Sound of a million gold coins disappearing)

“Ding! Congratulations on your successful upgrade! You have obtained a new purple gold artifact—divine edge quiver!”

【divine edge quiver!】

Part: Accessory—Quiver

Quality: purple gold!

Level: None

Maximum arrow storage quantity: 10000

Unique Effect:

Grants the Divine Edge effect to arrows stored in the quiver!

When attacking, there is a 100% base chance to tear open the target’s wound, causing a bleeding effect of 5% of maximum health per second! Lasts for 5s.

—

“Whoosh—!”

It appeared!

The noble bleeding effect based on maximum health!

The divine edge quiver’s attributes were no less than adding a brand-new attack effect to Ye Xingyu’s attacks—bleeding damage.

And it was a noble percentage-based damage!

It would still be useful in the later stages!

“Worth it!”

“It’s so damn worth it!”

“Investing these 1 million gold coins yielded significant results!”

The continuous bleeding effect of 5% of maximum health was absolutely incomparable to a mere 70% additional arrow attack power.

Because this 70% physical attack power was only an additional increase based on the arrow’s physical attack power, not the total attack of character attributes + equipment + arrows.

The physical attack power of an arrow generally only reached about a quarter of a weapon of the same level.

Therefore, its proportion in the total attack power was relatively low.

So, the damage amplification capability of the divine edge quiver would definitely far exceed that of the Striking Quiver.

The gap between dark gold and purple gold was insurmountable.

With just this quiver, Ye Xingyu possessed the ability to deal 5% of maximum health damage per second.

Theoretically, he could kill an enemy in 20 seconds.

This was the value of a purple gold artifact!

Not to mention, the divine edge quiver provided a storage capacity of 10,000 arrows.

From now on, he could say goodbye to carrying arrows in his backpack when going out.

10,000 arrows were truly inexhaustible.

This first purple gold artifact alone brought such a great surprise to Ye Xingyu.
