Daily Intelligence: Forced to Save the Beautiful President at the Beginning

122: Chapter 122 Officer, I want to report this.Zhang Fan’s expression remained unchanged; he simply raised an eyebrow slightly. ”Mr. Lin, we live in a society ruled by law. Saying things like that makes me quite scared. If I lose even a single hair later, the police will come looking for you first.”

Lin Haoyu felt his face burning under the surrounding gazes. Combined with Zhang Fan’s words leaving him speechless, he could only sit back in his chair, feeling resentful. His tone softened slightly, but carried an undertone of bribery. ”Forget what I said just now; let’s talk properly. What do you want? Money? I can give you one million—enough for you to buy a decent house in Jiangcheng. Or do you want cooperation resources from Singularity Technology? Haoyu Group has investments in real estate and media; any project I give you would be enough for your company to earn for a year. As long as you stay out of Xia Qinyi’s affairs, all of this can be yours.”

”What I want, you can’t give me.” Zhang Fan’s eyes turned cold in an instant, his tone full of disdain. ”I want you to stop harassing Xia Qinyi and her daughter, and I want you to give up fighting for custody of Lele. You won’t even attend Lele’s family day, you don’t even know if she likes pink or blue, and you don’t even know the name of the teddy bear she sleeps with at night. What right do you have to be her father? Based on this illegally obtained information in your hands? Or based on your ruthlessness in threatening people at every turn?”

Lin Haoyu was rendered speechless, his face turning alternating shades of green and white. He picked up the coffee on the table and took a large gulp, attempting to hide his panic. Suddenly, as if remembering something, a triumphant smile curled at the corners of his mouth. ”Zhang Fan, I advise you to know your place. Xia Qinyi is just a worn-out shoe I’ve played with; if you want her, I can let you have her. But I know that the Eldest Miss of the Song Family, Song Zhiwei, likes you and has even injected capital into your company. If you anger Song Zhiwei because of a woman like this, you won’t even need me to act—the Richest Man Song will be the first to not let you off!”

He thought these words would strike at Zhang Fan’s weak spot, but he didn’t expect Zhang Fan to only glance at him indifferently. ”Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lin, but you needn’t worry about my relationship with Miss Song. Instead, Mr. Lin, you should focus on handling your own affairs next.”

As soon as he finished speaking, footsteps were heard at the entrance of the coffee shop. Gu Jingshen led two uniformed police officers in, walking quickly, his gaze locking directly onto the booth. ”Mr. Zhang, we’re here!”

Zhang Fan stood up immediately and walked a few steps towards the police, holding the black document bag in his hand. He said clearly, ”Officer, I want to report a crime. This person illegally obtained personal information about me and my friend, including student records, addresses, and workplaces, as well as my friend’s private photos. He also organized people to monitor and secretly film me, and just now, he threatened to ’make me disappear.’ I have audio recordings as evidence for all of this.”

Lin Haoyu was completely stunned. He thought Zhang Fan would be like everyone else—either compromise or go head-to-head with him—but he hadn’t expected the other party to choose to call the police directly.

He stood up abruptly, hands pressed on the table, his voice lowered. ”Zhang Fan, don’t be ungrateful! I just wanted to talk to you; was it necessary to call the police?”

”Talk?” Zhang Fan sneered, dumping the documents from the file bag onto the table. ”Using illegally obtained personal information to ’talk’? Mr. Lin, is your version of ’talking’ just threatening people?”

Lin Haoyu’s expression changed instantly. Watching the police walk up to him, his face turned paper-white. He stood up abruptly, wanting to retreat, but was held down by the shoulder by a police officer.

”Mr. Lin Haoyu, someone has reported you for suspected illegal acquisition of citizens’ personal information and threatening the personal safety of others. Please come with us to the Police Station to assist in the investigation.” The police officer displayed his credentials with a serious tone. ”Please cooperate and do not resist.”

”I didn’t! Don’t listen to his nonsense!” Lin Haoyu struggled, but was held firmly by the police. ”Zhang Fan, you dare to set me up? You just wait! I won’t let you off!”

”Mr. Lin, it’s useless to say these things now.” Zhang Fan watched him being controlled by the police with calm eyes. ”The information you illegally obtained, along with the recording from just now, will all be submitted to the police as evidence. In a society ruled by law, things don’t just go however you want them to.”

”Zhang Fan, you just wait!” As Lin Haoyu was being taken away by the police, he turned his head and glared viciously at Zhang Fan, his eyes full of resentment and poison. ”I won’t let you off!”

Zhang Fan watched his departing figure without a ripple of emotion in his heart. He gathered the documents on the table and put them back into the file bag; these would be important evidence for the subsequent prosecution of Lin Haoyu.

The surrounding customers took out their phones to take pictures and record videos, and the buzz of conversation grew louder. As Lin Haoyu was being escorted out by the police, he tried to lunge at Zhang Fan as he passed by, but was pulled back by the police: ”Behave yourself!”

Watching Lin Haoyu’s disheveled figure disappear at the coffee shop entrance, Zhang Fan finally let out a sigh of relief. He took out his phone to stop the recording and gave Gu Jingshen a look. ”Thanks, you came just in time.”

”What are you thanking me for? You told me in advance.” Gu Jingshen patted his shoulder. ”The lawyer is already waiting at the Police Station, ensuring this guy will be in big trouble. By the way, about Xia Qinyi, should we let her know? To put her mind at ease.”

”Yeah, I’ll tell her in a bit.” Zhang Fan nodded and picked up the document bag from the table. ”These documents also need to be handed over to the police as evidence.”

The guests in the coffee shop were still buzzing with discussion. Zhang Fan picked up his jacket and turned to leave. Walking to the entrance, he sent a message to Xia Qinyi: [Lin Haoyu has been taken away by the police for illegally obtaining personal information. You and Lele can rest easy for now; you don’t need to worry about him harassing you anymore.]

Not long after, Xia Qinyi replied with a message, followed by a ’thank you’ emoji: [Thank you so much, Mr. Zhang. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know how much longer I would have been harassed by him.]

Zhang Fan looked at the phone screen and sighed softly. Solving the issue of Lin Haoyu’s illegal investigation was only the first step. Next, there was still a custody lawsuit to fight. He had to help Xia Qinyi obtain custody of Lele so that she and her daughter could truly be at peace.

He looked up at the office building in the distance, where the logo of Singularity Technology was particularly striking in the sunlight. The development of the new game was still moving forward, and the overseas version of ”star path: reboot” would be online soon; he still had many things to do.

As for Lin Haoyu’s threats, he didn’t take them to heart at all. A person who didn’t even respect the law wouldn’t be able to stir up any big waves, no matter how much he sought revenge.

At this moment, in the Police Station, Lin Haoyu sat in the interrogation room, his face so gloomy it could drip water. He never expected that the ”Hongmen Banquet” he had meticulously prepared would end up becoming his ”prison lesson.”

He wanted to call a lawyer for help, but discovered that his phone had already been temporarily confiscated by the police.

”Zhang Fan, you just wait; I will definitely get revenge for this!” Lin Haoyu clenched his fists and swore silently to himself. Even if he couldn’t do anything to Zhang Fan this time, he would find a way to make life difficult for Xia Qinyi and Lele.
