The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

50: Chapter 50 The Wanted Criminal is Caught[daily intelligence 01] At the lottery outlet on the first floor of the Binjiang Shopping Mall, there is a scratch-off ticket in the second row of the counter that can win 20,000 RMB. The ticket number is 23**6-87.

[daily intelligence 02] Factory Director Zhang of the Shenghai City Precision Instrument Factory received a threat from the Host. Yesterday, he called his brother-in-law over and gave him a severe scolding. After venting his anger, he is now inquiring about the Host’s background from various sources.

Having seen two pieces of intelligence published, Zhang Wei was now most concerned about information regarding the wanted criminal Tian Lirong. He couldn’t help but press his palms together and pray, ”Buddha and Bodhisattva, please bless me. The last one must be what I want.”

[daily intelligence 03] After stabbing Captain Jiang, the wanted criminal Tian Lirong fled in a panic and hid under a railway bridge. After half a day passed and he realized the police were not pursuing him, he calmed down and decided to return to his previous rental apartment to retrieve his handgun and personal belongings, then immediately flee to another city. He is currently on his way to the rental apartment on foot.

The video has been sent to the Host’s mobile phone. Please check it yourself.

It’s here! This is the one! I didn’t expect the wish to be granted. It seems that Heaven also wants to take down this heinous bastard.

Opening the video, Tian Lirong was still wearing that gray cloth jacket, walking down a secluded street, and looking back from time to time.

Zhang Wei forced himself to calm down. After thinking through the details of the operation, he gathered everyone into the car, excluding Old Man Li, of course.

”Everyone,” Zhang Wei opened the video on his phone and passed it around for everyone to see, then looked around at the group and said, ”Someone just uploaded this video to the internet, but it was deleted shortly after. This is very likely the criminal who stabbed Captain Jiang. Through my fellow townsman’s investigation, we found out where this person is staying. We are going to lie in wait and bring him to justice. Of course, this operation has a certain level of danger. If anyone wants to withdraw, I understand. Is there anyone who wants to get off now?”

Zhang Hong spoke up without a moment’s hesitation: ”Brother, when we were in the service, the instructor told us that the duty of a soldier is to protect the borders and the people. Even though I’ve retired, I’ve never dared to forget that. Just give the order.”

Everyone nodded in succession. Even the unreliable Liu Haorui looked impassioned.

Zhang Wei said loudly, ”Since no one is withdrawing, I will assign the operational plan. As long as you follow my plan, there is basically no danger.”

Two hours later, outside an old two-story residential building in Songjiang District.

Tian Lirong was squatting in the shadows in the distance, looking around. The second floor of this residential building was his rental apartment. He had been observing from here for half an hour, and everything was as usual, without a hint of anything out of place.

Only then did he quickly slip into the hallway and walk up the stairs to the second floor. He carefully checked the doorknob, and after finding that the strand of hair he had tied to it was intact, he felt relieved and unlocked the door to enter. After scouting around, he ran to the window and looked out for a moment; only then did his face finally relax completely.

Although he had avoided camera identification due to facial paralysis, his years of life on the run still made him extremely cautious. Fortunately, the rental apartment was still safe for the time being.

He had accidentally stabbed a police officer today, which made him realize that the police would certainly conduct a large-scale search of the area, and he absolutely could not stay here for long. However, even without money, he could still steal or rob. But his handgun and knives were still left in the house; these were life-saving weapons he had gone to great lengths to obtain, so he had to find a way to take them with him.

However, he didn’t notice when he went upstairs that in a dim corner of the first-floor hallway, a micro-camera had captured him perfectly.

Far away on the roadside a street away, Zhang Wei was watching Tian Lirong go upstairs on a laptop in the car, and then said to the group, ”The target is in position. Everyone, follow the plan.”

Twenty minutes later, Tian Lirong hid the handgun and knives in a nylon bag and covered them with clothes for concealment. After repeatedly confirming in the room that he hadn’t left any clues, he left the room and gently closed the door.

Tian Lirong relaxed completely. It seemed the police hadn’t found the area. Now, he just needed to escape to another province like a normal migrant worker, and he would be safe and sound.

At this moment, Tian Lirong walked downstairs. Just as he reached the exit of the residential building on the first floor, a figure suddenly flashed out from the entrance. Before he could react, a beam of strong light shone over, and his vision was instantly filled with white light, unable to see anything.

An ambush! Alarm bells rang in Tian Lirong’s heart, but that was all he could do. At this moment, Zhang Hong, who was hiding in the corner of the first floor, and Wang Sheng, who was also guarding the entrance, both rushed up holding wooden sticks.

It was true that Tian Lirong was a murderous villain, but he was, after all, just a middle-aged man in his forties who had suffered a stroke and hadn’t received professional combat training. He relied solely on his ruthlessness. At this moment, being ambushed by a high-intensity flashlight, caught off guard, and encountering two young men from the military, he was beaten to the ground by the two with sticks without any resistance.

”Old Liu, hurry up and bring the rope over.” Zhang Wei put down the high-intensity flashlight and called out to Liu Haorui.

”Coming, coming,” Liu Haorui hurried over from the car in the distance, almost tripping halfway due to nervousness.

At this point, Zhang Hong and the other man didn’t care whether Tian Lirong was truly unconscious or faking it. They used military grappling techniques to control him tightly; even the Jade Emperor himself couldn’t have escaped.

Zhang Wei took the rope, and to prevent Tian Lirong from having any weapons on him, he and Liu Haorui first stripped him naked, leaving him in only his underwear. Then, they used the rope to tie him up layer by layer, turning him into a mummy.

With this, the operational plan was perfectly achieved!

Zhang Wei opened the nylon bag, rummaged through it, took out the handgun, and handed it to Zhang Hong. The latter took it, examined it, and then disengaged the safety, saying, ”It’s a replica gun made in a small workshop. This guy is really vigilant; the safety on this gun was never on. If he had sensed something wrong, he could have pulled the gun and fired at any time.”

Zhang Wei was still excited at this moment, but he felt his legs going a bit weak. After all, the opponent was a cold-blooded murderer, while he was just an office worker who had never even killed a chicken. Hearing Zhang Hong’s words, he felt a bit fearful in hindsight. But fortunately, everything went smoothly.

Liu Haorui, on the side, was even worse; he had collapsed to the ground, muttering incessantly, ”God bless, God bless. Thank goodness I’m okay; I’m still a virgin.”

Zhang Wei and the others laughed out loud. The tension dissipated quite a bit.

After catching their breath for a while, Zhang Wei first went to the hallway to retrieve the camera. This hidden camera had cost him several thousand, and it might come in handy next time.

Afterward, the group carried Tian Lirong back to the car, threw him into the trunk, and started the car to head toward the Criminal Police Brigade.

An Xiaoxi said to Zhang Wei at this time, ”The police will definitely investigate the surrounding cameras later. Since we are going to report the case anyway, even if they recorded us, I didn’t touch those records.”

Zhang Wei nodded and said with a smile, ”Keep the video recorded by our own camera too; go back and edit it into a short clip for everyone to have a copy. We can brag about this for a lifetime.”
