The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

12: Chapter 12 Team FormationAt this time, the bicycle buyer arrived downstairs at the residential area. Zhang Wei and An Xiaoxi pushed the bicycles to the garden below.

The buyer circled the bicycles, inspecting them carefully. After confirming they were genuine originals, he rode a lap around the neighborhood before nodding in satisfaction.

Finally, using the damaged paint as an excuse, he haggled the price down by another two thousand yuan. Zhang Wei didn’t bother to argue and completed the transaction at a price of 58,000 yuan per bike.

(Industrial and Commercial Bank of China: Your account ending in ****** received 116,000 RMB. Current balance: 580,902.63 RMB.)

Selling the two bicycles added over a hundred thousand to his account. Zhang Wei felt refreshed at the thought of his account balance breaking the five-hundred-thousand mark.

Back in the living room, An Xiaoxi continued to wrestle with her pile of code on the sofa.

Zhang Wei unboxed the PS5, connected it to the TV, and started playing Black Monkey.

An hour later.

An Xiaoxi pointed at Elder Jinchi on the screen and asked, ”Is this the final boss? He looks pretty tough. I’ve seen you die several times already.”

Zhang Wei remained silent with a dark expression. He certainly couldn’t admit to being a noob. It must just be that he was out of practice.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Zhang Wei tossed the controller onto the sofa and got up to open the door.

The door opened, and Liu Haorui leaned in hurriedly, saying:

”Old Zhang, hurry up and serve the food! I’ve had it rough these past few days, eating nothing but crispy noodles every day... Huh?”

Halfway through, he spotted An Xiaoxi sitting on the sofa. He then turned around and said with a disappointed expression, ”Old Zhang, I know it’s been a while since you and Lin Wanting broke up. It’s normal to feel a bit empty and lonely at night.”

”But you can’t go down the path of crime! Don’t you know that involving a minor starts at life imprisonment?”

Zhang Wei made a move to push him out the door. ”Go, go, go! Your mouth is too foul. I’m afraid eating hotpot with you tonight will ruin my appetite.”

”Don’t! Godfather, I was wrong! Hotpot is my favorite!” Hearing the word ’hotpot’, Liu Haorui immediately bowed in submission.

Only then did Zhang Wei let him in and introduce him to An Xiaoxi: ”This is An Xiaoxi, a computer expert. She’s staying here temporarily to help me handle some business matters.”

He turned and said, ”This is Liu Haorui, my brother. He’s a bit unreliable, but he’s a decent guy. You can just call him Brother Rui from now on.”

”Don’t listen to Old Zhang’s nonsense. If you need anything, just come to me. I’m known in the streets as Little Song Jiang.” Seeing the young girl look over, Liu Haorui patted his chest.

”O-okay, Brother Rui,” An Xiaoxi said timidly.

”Haha, no problem, no problem! If anyone dares to bully you, just find me.”

He’s totally been fooled by her appearance, Zhang Wei thought, remembering the scene from last night where this girl ruthlessly stomped on the vital areas of those two thugs. He silently mourned for Liu Haorui.

The takeout arrived just then. The three of them set everything up together. Zhang Wei went downstairs again to buy some drinks and beer.

The water in the pot began to boil.

Zhang Wei raised a beer and said loudly, ”Welcome An Xiaoxi to the team, and cheers to our first gathering as a trio!”

The two men downed a can of beer, while An Xiaoxi took small sips of juice.

As they ate hotpot, Liu Haorui’s naturally outgoing personality soon led to him becoming familiar with An Xiaoxi.

”Oh, I almost forgot,” Zhang Wei said, slapping his forehead after eating for a while.

”The bicycles have been sold. As agreed, Old Liu, I’ll transfer 10% to you. Since An Xiaoxi helped find the buyer this time, I’ll give you a 10% cut as well.”

The bicycles sold for a total of 116,000. Zhang Wei transferred 11,600 yuan to each of them.

Liu Haorui was astonished. ”How is it that much? That’s higher than my monthly salary. Are those crappy bikes really worth that much?”

Zhang Wei said casually, ”Every president of the Eagle Nation rides this brand. You tell me if they’re worth it.”

”That’s just ridiculous.” Liu Haorui shook his head, then excitedly asked, ”Old Zhang, do you have some kind of information channel? Otherwise, how did you know those two bikes were in that godforsaken place?”

Zhang Wei made up a lie on the spot: ”I have a fellow villager who has connections in information.”

Liu Haorui said excitedly, ”Old Zhang, how about I just quit my job and follow you? Just give me whatever cut you think is fair. I don’t want to stay at that crappy company for another day. It’s full of leaders and I’m the only one doing any work. Yet, my salary is the lowest. It’s pure exploitation.”

”That’s not a problem.” Zhang Wei thought for a moment and said, ”How about this: from now on, for any job that requires your effort, I’ll give you a 10% cut. How does that sound?”

An Xiaoxi’s hacking skills went without saying, and Liu Haorui was his good brother—though careless, he would never betray him. He was a good helper.

An Xiaoxi would focus on the computer side, Liu Haorui could handle communication with outsiders and miscellaneous tasks, and Zhang Wei would focus on intelligence. This way, their division of labor would be clear.

Seeing that neither had any objections, Zhang Wei raised his beer. ”Then I announce that our three-person team is officially established today! Cheers!”

The three clinked glasses and continued to feast.

Liu Haorui hadn’t eaten well for days, and An Xiaoxi used to live meal-to-meal. The two of them were like matched rivals at the table. Their chopsticks moved so fast while swishing meat in the pot that they left afterimages. Zhang Wei watched them, chuckling happily.

After they were full, Zhang Wei took out a stack of Scratch-off tickets from his pocket.

”It’s post-dinner game time. These are the lottery tickets I bought today. How about the one who scratches the lowest amount has to wash the dishes?”

Liu Haorui said disdainfully, ”Old Zhang, haven’t you watched those videos by vloggers? They buy huge stacks of tickets, and nine out of ten lose so much they don’t even recognize their own mothers. This stuff is a scam.”

Zhang Wei waved his hand. ”That’s not necessarily true. You don’t know how lucky I’ve been lately.”

”How about this,” Zhang Wei pulled one ticket from the stack. ”I’ll be generous. There are twenty tickets in total, and I’ll only scratch this one. You two can scratch the rest together. Whoever gets the lowest total amount washes the dishes. Do you dare?”

An Xiaoxi said she didn’t mind, while Liu Haorui laughed loudly.

”Old Zhang, you’re way too confident. You think you can beat us with just one ticket? If you win, I’ll not only wash the dishes, but I’ll also wash my hair while doing a handstand for you!”

Old Liu, you’re seeking your own death.

Zhang Wei chuckled inwardly. ”Then it’s a deal! It’s settled!”

Out of twenty tickets, Zhang Wei took one, leaving nineteen.

Liu Haorui didn’t want to bully the girl, so he let An Xiaoxi pick ten. He took the remaining nine and started scratching.

Whether it was because he was born under an unlucky star or because simps never have a fortune, this fellow didn’t win a single cent after scratching nine tickets.

Liu Haorui felt completely miserable.

An Xiaoxi, on the other hand, did okay. Four out of her ten tickets were winners, totaling over two hundred yuan. However, the ten tickets cost five hundred in total, so it was a loss of half the investment.

Liu Haorui recovered and said, ”Old Zhang, just admit defeat. Could you really scratch over two hundred from a single ticket?”

”That’s not necessarily true.” Zhang Wei sat calmly in his chair and began scratching with composure.

”The cows are already flying in the sky from your bragging, just keep at it.” Liu Haorui stood by with a look of certain victory.

By then, Zhang Wei had finished scratching.

An Xiaoxi leaned in to take a look and said in surprise, ”He actually won...”

Liu Haorui said indifferently, ”How much? Ten or twenty?”

An Xiaoxi took another careful look and then gave Liu Haorui a strange expression. ”One hundred thousand.”

”One hundred thousand is only... wait, HOW MUCH!?” Liu Haorui froze on the spot.
