Chapter 4677: The Great Tribulation Erupts

The conversation with Emperor Azure Break, along with the information he provided, made a tremendous difference for Lin Moyu.

Before, Lin Moyu could only explore and guess things on his own at best, discussing them with the Chaos Gem.

Step by step, he groped his way through the dark, not even knowing if his path was truly correct.

Without a system to rely on, he could only trust his own Dao heart.

Fortunately, he had never doubted, and with a persistent Dao heart and careful thinking, he avoided nearly all detours and stayed on the right path.

Even when he did stray, he always managed to return to the right course.

Now, for the first time, he saw a complete framework this was the most precious thing Emperor Azure Break had given him.

From here on, he would not have to guess or worry about missteps. He could advance with unwavering confidence.

When Lin Moyu regained his senses, the Chaos Gem was the first to speak: “Master, are you done talking? Did you see Emperor Azure Break?”

Lin Moyu said, “I did. There’s a fragment of his consciousness inside; he told me a lot.”

The Chaos Gem asked, “He doesn’t mean any harm, does he?”

Lin Moyu recounted the exchange, and the Chaos Gem replied, “Then there’s no problem, that fits his style. He doesn’t stoop to little tricks.”

“I’ve never seen him play at schemes or plots he always faces things openly, head on.”

That was Emperor Azure Break’s Dao heart, unchanged regardless of circumstance.

Lin Moyu said, “So you were never worried about me.”

The Chaos Gem shook, “I never needed to. I trust Master can handle anything, and will definitely break through the Life Forbidden Zone and reach a place none have ever gone.”

Lin Moyu chuckled, “Even I’m not that confident. I don’t know where you get your faith.”

The Chaos Gem did not dwell on the flattery. “Master, what’s next? We’ve returned to the Central Region.”

Lin Moyu asked, “How long until the Great Tribulation erupts in full?”

The Chaos Gem looked around. “As things stand, as soon as a hundred years, as late as three to five hundred years.”

“Because Master has become the public enemy of the realms surpassing even the tribulation bearer once the tribulation erupts fully, you will face serious pressure. During the tribulation, the world’s rules will change in ways I can’t fully predict.”

Lin Moyu said, “At that time, the rules should loosen, making ascension easier some will break through to quasi Supreme.”

“And the Supremes will glimpse the road to the true apex. Under tribulation, their thinking will shift, and they may even see you as their enemy.”

“There will also be other events, many surprises some things may even defy logic, so you must be prepared.”

Lin Moyu thought for a moment. “Since there is still time, there’s no rush; I’ll focus on thoroughly mastering these Primal Techniques.”

The Chaos Gem said, “Alright, Master, you concentrate. I’ll watch things here and make sure nothing goes wrong.”

Lin Moyu began to study the Primal Techniques techniques born at the very beginning of heaven and earth, evolving alongside each world.

Every living world had its own Primal Technique; with them, Supremes governed their worlds more thoroughly.

Primal Techniques were the cornerstone for further progress. Each world’s Primal Technique differed slightly.

By studying many Primal Techniques, their similarities and differences became clear, greatly aiding mastery.

Once a Primal Technique was mastered, the essence of a world laid bare no more secrets between world and cultivator.

Through Primal Techniques, even if the world treated him as a public enemy, he could still influence its laws.

He would no longer be subject to the world’s will.

Lin Moyu’s ambitions went further. His Yu Shen Heaven had not yet experienced its first life and death tribulation nor birthed its own Primal Technique.

If he could use the Primal Techniques from other worlds to establish his own system before Yu Shen Heaven developed its own, he could completely control every inch of it.

This was more direct than letting the world evolve on its own and then mastering what came forth after the fact.

His pursuit was mastery of self, power, heaven and earth, and ultimately life and death the very essence of his Undying Dao: to rule over life and command death.

Wholeheartedly dedicated, Lin Moyu advanced rapidly sometimes mastering a Primal Technique in as little as five or six years, at most a little over a decade.

With experience, he only got faster; the techniques were so similar that each new one was easier.

Even Emperor Azure Break was stunned he himself had spent over ten millennia to fully comprehend just his tenth Primal Technique, and even after that, needed centuries per technique.

Lin Moyu did it in years. Sometimes, later, he studied two at once something unheard of and supposedly impossible, yet his speed didn’t drop.

Emperor Azure Break could only call him a monster, albeit one that finally gave him hope.

He was happy to see Lin Moyu surpass him; only this way could someone break the Life Forbidden Zone, reaching the place none had before a place Emperor Azure Break yearned to see, worth dying for.

Centuries passed, and finally the Chaos Ancient Wasteland’s tribulation reached a full eruption.

Normally, tribulations would build up over tens or even hundreds of thousands of years, but Lin Moyu’s existence as the tribulation bearer greatly hastened the process.

As a result, not only was the development time drastically reduced, the eruption, though briefer, became far more intense.

When it began, a chilling aura of slaughter filled all the realms.

A world already in chaos grew wilder still.

Even minor emotions, under the influence of the world’s laws, swelled to extremes.

A small squabble between clans could escalate to war, turning rapidly to all out genocide between entire races.

The world plunged into endless combat; the fall of even high level experts became routine, met with numb indifference.

Supremes who might once have been only slightly affected now found these things commonplace.

Some quasi Supremes took action against the enemies of their own kind.

Blood flowed everywhere, the stench spreading across the realms no one was spared.

Lin Moyu eventually mastered every Primal Technique 128 in total, perfectly internalized.

His own unique Primal Technique had begun to take shape as well.
