Chapter 4652: Not Retreating a Single Step

Lin Moyu did not use Ultimate Undying he already understood its effect and didn’t need to use it again.

Even without it, he could easily deal with Nine Suns Sovereign. As for Gold Sun Sovereign, that guy was already finished; if he didn’t flee, even the aftershocks would be enough to kill him.

But Lin Moyu did not let him go, either. The downpour of fists engulfed him as well.

A wave of soul attacks struck first. Gold Sun screamed as he ran for his life.

Unfortunately, there was no Fire Sea to dive into now. He fled as fast as he could, using all his strength to resist the soul assaults.

Nine Suns Sovereign refused to yield, standing guard before Sovereign September.

Nine blazing suns descended and merged into a colossal shield, blocking the way forward.

Fists pounded the shield, roaring with deafening force, driving the Nine Suns Sovereign to retreat step by step.

Lin Moyu’s physical strength and soul were at their absolute peak by brute force alone, he could go toe to toe with the mightiest Sovereigns.

Although Nine Suns was strong, he still fell far short.

Retreating, Nine Suns Sovereign was battered back to Sovereign September’s side. There, he finally stopped and stubbornly held the line.

Cracks spread across his shield the nine suns were his Dao foundation, and now even that was fracturing.

But he refused to fall back, resolutely protecting Sovereign September.

The rain of fists continued to hammer down. If Nine Suns let up for even a moment, the blows would rain down on Sovereign September.

As the cracks grew more numerous, wounds also appeared on Nine Suns himself. Damaged Dao foundation meant he too was wounded.

Yet even so, he did not retreat in the slightest.

“Such brother sister devotion,” Lin Moyu said, smiling. He withdrew his assault and regarded Nine Suns with a gentle expression.

“Sovereign September is trying to explore that passage, right? My advice: give up on it. That passage really is not suited for her.”

Nine Suns Sovereign breathed a little easier, but worry stayed etched on his face. “Do you know something?”

Lin Moyu answered, “I was entrusted to fetch something from the other side of the channel. I have no idea what’s inside, nor do I know what’s on the other side.”

Nine Suns pressed, “What exactly do you plan to retrieve?”

Lin Moyu shook his head. “That’s not for me to say. But you must know, you can’t stop me. If I wanted to kill you, it wouldn’t be difficult.”

“If you die, do you think Sovereign September, in her current condition, would survive?”

The void twisted, and razor sharp blades the limbs of the Shadow Bug Queen flickered from different points in time and space, gleaming with menace.

Nine Suns Sovereign knew Lin Moyu wasn’t bluffing.

But… he hesitated, torn by conflict. After a few moments, he admitted, “It’s not that I don’t want to back down, but I can’t.”

“Oh?” Lin Moyu grew curious. “Let’s hear it.”

Nine Suns sighed. “The passage is hidden in the Eastern Fire Sea. It only became visible by accident, and it’s been here tens of thousands of years now. After years of study, Little Moon finally opened a crack. Her soul entered inside to explore, and she has never managed to return.”

Lin Moyu asked, “Didn’t she just send in a sliver of her soul?”

Using the Eye of Undeath, Lin Moyu could see Sovereign September’s soul glowing as brilliantly as ever surely just a fragment, so she shouldn’t fear danger.

Nine Suns explained, “She did send in a soul avatar, believing all would be well. But her consciousness got trapped inside and can’t come back.”

Her body in the real world seemed intact, but the consciousness was missing she was a living dead.

That was abnormal. In ordinary circumstances, one’s consciousness is never so easily imprisoned normally, you could always abandon an avatar and return.

Unless the channel didn’t connect to the chaos wilderness, but to a world governed by different laws only that would explain why she couldn’t return.

Nine Suns said, “If you go inside, can you help me?”

He meant: with Sovereign September’s mind lost, she was as good as dead.

“No wonder I didn’t see any sign of Sovereign September when I came to the East before,” Lin Moyu thought, “So that’s what happened.”

Helping you isn’t out of the question, Lin Moyu mused, but what’s in it for me? You were trying to kill me just now you might try again later.

“I can swear an oath,” Nine Suns said immediately, “no matter your identity, I’ll never be your enemy.”

Lin Moyu laughed: “Do you really think I’m afraid of you?”

Vowing not to do something powerless how much could that promise mean?

Nine Suns pondered, then said, “You’re the enemy of the world now. Weapons mean nothing to you, so I’m not sure what I could offer.

Wait, we have a secret art maybe it would be useful!”

Lin Moyu retorted, “You just said world rules don’t work on me. What use is a secret art?”

Nine Suns quickly clarified, “The art doesn’t rely on world rules.”

A technique that didn’t depend on the world’s rules now that was interesting.

At that, the Chaos Gem advised, “Master, take the deal.”

Lin Moyu trusted the Chaos Gem. “A secret art like that does sound interesting. I’ll accept, but don’t try to trick me.”

Nine Suns insisted, “I wouldn’t joke about Little Moon’s life.”

Lin Moyu nodded. “Fine. Step back, and keep everyone out of a hundred million miles. Leave everything here to me.”

Nine Suns was decisive. Since he was asking for help, he chose to believe in Lin Moyu.

He withdrew by a hundred million miles, vacating a vast stretch of void.

Lin Moyu summoned billions of undead soldiers, forming a tight cordon in space around the entrance.

He wanted to enter the channel himself and couldn’t allow any outsiders to interfere. Even the Shadow Bug Queen stayed behind as the final guard.

With such a defense, not even Sovereigns could break through easily.

He approached Sovereign September, ignoring the flames guarding her, and dove straight into them.

When an intruder approached, the fire lashed out; nine bright moons shot beams at Lin Moyu.

This was Sovereign September’s passive defense a reflex, not willful action.

Lin Moyu let the attacks fall without resistance his body could shrug off anything short of a Sovereign’s full power.

Beneath Sovereign September, between her and a faint crescent moon, lay a tiny, barely perceptible crack.

The fissure, endlessly subtle, was maintained only by Sovereign September’s lingering power.

The entire passage was buried in the void beyond the reach of ordinary sight. Without a certain accident, it would have stayed hidden for eternity.

Lin Moyu approached the crack. The channel was right there just invisible.

He took out the stone tower and touched it to the gap. Instantly, the tower blazed with dazzling light, and a massive door came into focus a grand gateway, with the crack as its threshold.

“To spot even the threshold impressive indeed,” someone murmured.

Lin Moyu now realized Sovereign September had only managed to find the slimmest opening by sheer luck.

As the tower’s light poured onto the door, the gateway slowly opened.
