Chapter 4671: Primal Technique

Is it difficult?

It is truly difficult. Even if a Supreme being obtains the Primal Technique, it takes over ten thousand years just to grasp the basics. Some Supreme beings have spent millions of years and only barely manage to control the Primal Technique.

Supremes are the very pinnacle of every world the best in power and wisdom alike. Yet even they need so much time to comprehend the Primal Technique. According to reason, Lin Moyu, who is far beneath that level, should not be able to understand it at all.

Yet, things turned out very differently. The more Lin Moyu observed, the more familiar it all seemed, that feeling overlapping with the one he’d felt when first seeing those sigils. Enlightenments flooded into him wave after wave, countless principles blossoming in his heart. Gradually, Lin Moyu realized these incredibly complex and profound sigils weren’t as hard as he thought.

He had no idea why this was, but it didn’t matter. What was important was understanding the Primal Technique, not chasing after its origins or where the sigils themselves came from. As comprehension deepened, at some point a sudden explosion of insight came over him.

Lin Moyu’s consciousness blazed with dazzling light. It felt as if he’d undergone a flash of supreme epiphany and suddenly knew how to study the sigils how to use them to reveal the true face of the Primal Technique.

His consciousness split: one became two, then four, then eight, and on and on, multiplying without end. Countless copies of his consciousness chased after the ever flying sigils, actively meeting them letting them pass through his awareness. Every time a sigil passed through, his thinking would freeze momentarily; by the time he regained focus, the target sigil would already have drifted away.

But it didn’t matter he kept pursuing.

Thus began a chase in this illusory space a pursuit between consciousness and sigils. Time after time he caught up, made contact, was briefly stunned, then resumed the chase. The sensation was excruciating his mind, split endlessly, was sometimes paralyzed and sometimes active, the tearing feeling enough to drive any peerless being mad.

But Lin Moyu’s will remained firm; he endured the pain, doing what he knew was right. At last, after countless efforts, a strange aura appeared on some of the sigils a mark uniquely Lin Moyu’s. The point of letting the sigils pass through his mind was to leave his own mark, which he could then use to control them. This process was like leaving a soul imprint on a magical artifact the method differed, but the principle was the same.

He treated the sigils as treasures and refined them. By sheer effort, he succeeded. Now there was a link between his mind and the sigils, as fine as silk threads. With those threads he could manipulate the sigils. Under his command, their flight gradually slowed until they finally stopped in place.

All the scattered consciousness merged once more, becoming one. Lin Moyu started manipulating the threads, pulling the sigils together.

The sigils looked chaotic, but as he’d learned, they had their own orderliness. In the process of marking them, he’d been studying them. While he still didn’t understand each one’s precise function, he’d gained a certain understanding. Now, reorganizing them felt much easier like solving a puzzle. With great patience, Lin Moyu fit the sigils together, learning as he went.

That sense of déjà vu intensified and, in turn, accelerated his overall insight. His eyes grew steadily brighter as he manipulated the sigils faster and faster.

“These sigils have effects by themselves, but their true significance is something else they must be combined to form far greater sigils to reveal universal truths.”

The puzzle piece by piece came together, and at some point the first of those immense sigils was complete.

The very moment the assembly was done, the previously independent sigils merged seamlessly.

Merged, they became a great ball of light inside which countless light bands wove together each independent and each interdependent. Instantly, vast information surged over Lin Moyu, bringing another epiphany.

“These are the laws of creation…”

Lin Moyu was shocked. This ball of light embodied the supreme code, the general outline for the rules of the world.

Heavenly rules exist within each world, defining all things, all Daos, sustaining the basic operating state of reality. The details of these rules are nearly impossible to describe, but one can alter them with the mind. If Supremes could master them, they could, by changing these rules, rewrite reality itself.

The Primal Technique is on the same level as the world itself; it is like the controller of all that is.

Supremes can refine and control a world, but fine tuning its rules is almost impossible. They can make broad adjustments but lack precise, delicate control. With the Primal Technique, though, it is different:

It allows exact, detailed manipulation of heaven’s laws, so the whole world can become what they desire, bending any rule even the unreasonable to become real under intertwining laws.

This is one function of the Primal Technique.

Unfortunately, Azure Dragon Heaven had already collapsed, so this Primal Technique could no longer serve any practical purpose.

“To master the world’s rules with the Primal Technique is only its shallowest layer; this level is merely a start. Now, keep going.”

Lin Moyu continued combining the remaining sigils.

The first assembled “Master Law” represented less than one third of all the sigils. That meant the remaining two thirds could form at least two more masterworks.

Finishing the first puzzle made the rest simpler. Drawing on his understanding, he quickly accomplished a second synthesis.

As soon as the second composition was done, the sigils turned into flowing water, forming a curious pattern resembling a divine dragon and emitting a soft glow. Lin Moyu whispered, “Azure Dragon Heaven…”

A flood of new information poured in, rushing into his mind.
