Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 4665: The Destiny Sovereign

The Destiny Sovereign tapped lightly on the stone tower, and it immediately flew into the air, expanding in size. Two physical bodies emerged from the tower. The Destiny Sovereign said, “Old Bull, you can go back now.”

The Chaotic Desolation Bull bellowed, and a soul emerged from its form, merging with the body of the Ancient Desolation Bull. Then the Chaotic Desolation Bull’s body also liquefied, melding with the soul. The Ancient Desolation Bull’s aura swelled drastically, reverberating through the special space.

Lin Moyu smiled, “As expected of a once top tier powerhouse. Now that the Ancient Desolation Bull has returned, are you aiming for the peak again?”

The Destiny Sovereign wasn’t surprised Lin Moyu recognized the Ancient Desolation Bull. He sipped his tea and chuckled, “It’s only to save his own life. The old bull is timid. Back then, he almost risked his life trying the Dissolution technique.”

“Lucky to have survived. It’s the same now just for survival. As the Chaotic Desolation Bull, it would be too hard. Returning as the Ancient Desolation Bull is safer.”

Lin Moyu said, “If he returns as the Ancient Desolation Bull, the ’Dao’ might try to kill him immediately.”

The Destiny Sovereign shook his head, “Maybe in the past, but not now. The tribulation has begun; the Dao won’t act recklessly. The Ancient Desolation Bull is also much more powerful now. Killing him won’t be easy.”

“Even if Dao succeeds, it will take heavy losses and risk counterattacks from others. With the four giants now Calamity Sovereign, Lin Mohan, the hidden Chaotic Wild Dragon any Dao injury risks them all turning on him. So, the better choice is to do nothing. It’s not dangerous for the bull to live, but if Dao is harmed, that’s fatal to him.”

Lin Moyu smiled, “Since the Ancient Desolation Bull has reappeared… What identity did you take back then?”

The Destiny Sovereign laughed, “Guess!”

Lin Moyu said, “With so many powerhouses back then, you couldn’t be among the most famous. There was a Divine Destiny Grass whose fate became a legend. That was you, wasn’t it?”

“Haha! You’re a special kind of genius to guess that!” The Destiny Sovereign laughed heartily, not hiding it at all. “Yes, I was that grass the one almost eaten by the old bull.”

In truth, Lin Moyu didn’t really guess. The Chaos Child and Old Tree had listed every strong figure from that era at Lin Moyu’s request, including many obscure legends. The Divine Destiny Grass was one. At that time, the grass contained the fate Dao, drawing countless powerhouses to fight over it. But, at some point, it disappeared. It had no shape, no confirmed intelligence at the time.

The Destiny Sovereign said, “That year, the old bull nearly ate me, but I yelled, ’If you’re not afraid to die, then go ahead and eat!’ It scared him off and saved my life.”

So, the Ancient Desolation Bull was that timid?

Suddenly, a muffled voice echoed in the air: “Nonsense! I respect life. Once you gained sentience, you were a living being. I wouldn’t eat a living being.”

The Destiny Sovereign didn’t object. “Later events proved you made the right choice. Now concentrate on merging don’t mess up.”

The Ancient Desolation Bull said nothing more and resumed merging body and soul.

The Destiny Sovereign said, “You know what happened later. The bull wanted to dissolve, but that’s dangerous. I calculated and found that dissolving only the soul could let him escape doom. He trusted me, dissolved his body, and I hid it in a fate gap I found.”

“I hid within as well. Everyone thought I was dead and we both survived.”

“Later, the old bull’s soul reincarnated as the Chaotic Desolation Bull, and I became the Destiny Sovereign. Once I emerged from the fate gap, I found him.”

“Then Calamity Sovereign started making plans, asking for my divinations. He wanted to see far into the future, but the further one looks, the more chances for errors.”

“I knew that with Dao alive, if we couldn’t kill him, we’d definitely be the ones who die. So everyone pitched in, bringing countless treasures to boost my calculations.”

“I divined for a thousand years, seeing over a hundred possible futures, until eventually I found one that seemed reliable and I saw you, Lin Moyu, in that vision.”

Lin Moyu smiled, “That’s how you knew Calamity Sovereign not only lived but set up multiple plans.”

The Destiny Sovereign responded, “Exactly. Once I saw that, I knew Calamity Sovereign wouldn’t let me go, so after sharing most of my results, I faked my dissolution using the backlash.”

Lin Moyu said, “Now the old bull tracked you down.”

The Destiny Sovereign shook his head, “No need my avatars have always been out and about, but my true body never left the fate gap. If the old bull is timid, I’m just cautious. Birds of a feather, you could say.”

Lin Moyu sipped his tea, “History proved your caution was right.”

The Destiny Sovereign said, “In my foresight, I saw this great tribulation, and that we’d struggle to survive. Thankfully, using everyone’s help and hundreds of divinations, I found a single chance.”

“I located the passage to Azure Dragon Heaven, and hid it inside the Eastern Extremity Fire Sea. Later, I put our physical bodies into that world to absorb the primordial Qi from Azure Dragon’s tail, growing stronger.”

Lin Moyu asked, “How did you get into Azure Dragon Heaven and then return? Even Sovereign September’s soul avatar couldn’t return.”

The Destiny Sovereign answered, “That’s the benefit of the way of fate. Fate exists in every world, and between worlds. If you get a passage, you can travel through fate gaps. I followed one barely. But I lost most of my soul in the process, only now barely recovered. When I foresaw you might go, it looked like it would change everything, so I asked you to bring our bodies back.”

Lin Moyu said, “You couldn’t divine such detailed results you must’ve just had a general sense.”

The Destiny Sovereign agreed, “True. The essence is that you’re special, Lin Moyu nothing is truly impossible for you. But much of it is also just guessing.”

Lin Moyu: “One last question: in your visions, have you ever seen that fire…?”
