Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 783: Chapter 640: Hiding in the Wardrobe_2

But now, it seems that’s exactly the case.

Yue Lin felt a bit defeated inside, but his face remained calm and cold. He spoke in a hoarse voice, ”So I want you to stay, don’t think about the past anymore... stay by my side.”

Shen Tang snapped out of it, extricating herself from his embrace and said apologetically, ”Thank you, Captain, for taking care of me these past days, but I’m sorry, I can’t...”

”Xun Fu, I’m doing this for your own good, think it through before you answer me,”

Suddenly, there was a loud ”bang” from outside, as if something heavy had slammed against the wall.

Yue Lin’s expression darkened, he let go of Shen Tang and strode towards the floor-to-ceiling window.

Downstairs, the lights were bright and a sizable number of Beastman troops had gathered on the road, causing a commotion. It seemed someone had broken in illegally, and the city guard team was in pursuit.

There are always those who wish to challenge authority; things like this happen in each Purification City every now and then. But this time there were many troops gathered, it appeared the intruder was not weak.

As the Young Master, Yue Lin couldn’t just sit by and do nothing.

He turned to Shen Tang and said, ”You stay in the room, I’ll go out and check.”

”Okay.” Shen Tang’s face flushed, not from shyness, but more from embarrassment, and she nodded in agreement.

Yue Lin grabbed the coat from the sofa and hurried out.

Perhaps he also wanted to go out to clear his mind and calm down a bit.

Tonight, he was somewhat impatient and out of sorts.

This hotel manor mostly housed the rich or influential, with high prices and top-notch security, even guarded by regular troops. Staying in the hotel, there was no need to worry about safety issues.

Shen Tang didn’t pay much attention to the matters outside. She originally wanted to go back to the room to rest, then suddenly remembered—Yue Lin didn’t give her a room card!

There were only two females in the team, and everyone tacitly assumed they shared a room. But Shen Tang didn’t know if Yin Luo was asleep, going over now might disturb her.

Anyway, the suite had two bedrooms; Yue Lin stayed in the master bedroom, so she’d make do in the side room for the night.

It was eight or nine at night; darkness had fallen. The warm light indoors was sleep-inducing, and the advanced incense spread a faint milk scent. The curtains were half drawn, allowing a view of the hazy moonlight outside, distant high-rise lights dotting the distance, quiet and beautiful.

After showering, Shen Tang changed into a robe and had just lain down for a short while when she suddenly saw a shadow flash by outside the window.

She was startled, instantly wide awake.

In the palm of her hand, an Ice Blade formed, but before she could make a move, there was a gentle knock on the window.

Immediately after, a familiar, low, muffled laugh came through the window,

”Don’t be afraid, it’s me.”

The superpower in Shen Tang’s hand vanished instantly, her beautiful cat-like eyes widened slightly, that voice, isn’t it Jin?!

She quickly drew back the curtain. The man who had been absent for a short while had returned, his brow raised slightly, giving her a roguish smile.

However, his current position was a bit comical, standing on the half-window ledge, one hand gripping the nearby pipe, the other partially beastified, with sharp nails clutching the window sill, and his long leopard tail tapping on the glass, making dull ”thump thump” sounds.

His arm muscles were taut and well-defined from exertion. His shirt was pulled up, revealing a segment of his slender, lightly tanned waist. If it weren’t for the inappropriate context, Shen Tang would have wanted to admire it a while longer.

B-but this is over the 80th floor!

They were staying in the presidential suite on the top floor, even just looking down was dizzying, yet this guy actually climbed up?

The corner of Shen Tang’s mouth twitched, disregarding other concerns, and she hurriedly opened the window to let him in.

Thump,

Jin jumped through the window, directly tackling her onto the bed, holding her tightly in his arms and saying in a low, delighted voice, ”I’m back.”

Upon hearing this long-awaited and familiar voice, as if she had longed for this moment, Shen Tang felt her eyes well up with tears, unable to resist the glimmer of tears. She also wrapped her arms around his firm waist, lowering her head and murmuring, ”Mhm.”

”It’s good you’re back... I was really worried about you.”

They embraced for quite some time before slowly letting go.

”The illegal intruder the troops outside were chasing just now... could it have been you?” Shen Tang asked with lingering fear.

In fact, she already knew the answer in her heart, besides Jin, who else could cause such a stir?

Jin scoffed disdainfully, ”Those scumbags catching me? In their dreams.”

Shen Tang suddenly recalled something, nervously asking, ”What about your father... Shou He and the others? You got away from them that quickly?”

Jin pressed his lips together and gave a light ”mhm.”

Looking at her, he said in a low voice, ”I said I’d come back for you.”

He had kept his promise.

Jin inhaled the scent from the female’s body, feeling an inexplicable calm as if a parched riverbed had finally met with nourishing rain.

He buried his head into her neck, taking a deep breath greedily.

After this separation, Shen Tang felt she and Jin had grown closer. Previously, Jin had been very guarded against her, but now it seemed he had lowered his guard, making her feel as if... he relied on her a bit?
