Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 778: Chapter 638: Battle Between Wolf and Leopard (Part 3)

Yue Lin also locked onto the opponent’s position. His cold and indifferent brows showed no fluctuation, but his eyes grew even deeper. He suddenly turned and raised his sword to fend off a fierce attack.

”Quite a quick reaction!” Jin’s grin widened as he threw a punch at his face.

Yue Lin dodged the punch, but the next one landed firmly on his shoulder.

He retreated several steps, the power of thunder and lightning penetrated his flesh, destroying his meridians, and a metallic taste surged in his throat. He squinted his deep black eyes, his fighting spirit growing stronger, and charged out once more.

In his more than twenty years of life, Yue Lin had never encountered such a strong enemy. Today, there must be a decisive outcome.

He would not let this person go.

It wasn’t just for the bounty. The thought of Xun Fu spending several days with this male brought a murderous intent to Yue Lin’s heart, determined to make him pay the price.

Compared to Jin’s pure and barbaric fighting style, Yue Lin, cultivated as the Young Master of the Moon Clan, emphasized tactics more in his combat. He quickly found the opponent’s weaknesses, and caused Jin to suffer many injuries.

Jin wiped the blood from his chest, his eyes growing more blood-red and arrogant, ”Is this all you’ve got?”

Yue Lin remained silent, but his attacks became even fiercer.

The battle between the two reached a fever pitch, with the entire shelter almost leveled to the ground. Black energy overflowed from Jin once more, his aura becoming more ecstatic and frenzied, as if he had reverted to a demon from the abyss. Even Yue Lin gritted his teeth, gradually unable to withstand it.

Continuing to fight would ensure mutual destruction.

A figure suddenly rushed between the two,

”Stop! Don’t fight!”

Both sides unexpectedly ceased their attacks.

Jin forcibly withdrew his attack, looking at the female in front of him, gritting his teeth with anger, ”Get out of the way.”

He didn’t want to harm her.

Yue Lin’s face was darker, his chest heaving, and he angrily shouted, ”Xun Fu!”

He extended his hand toward her, his chilly voice tinged with urgency, ”Come over, don’t stay with this madman!”

Xun Fu looked at Yue Lin with a complicated expression but did not move closer. Instead, she took a few steps back, blocking in front of Jin, ”...Sorry, Captain. I can’t let you take him away.”

Yue Lin’s face froze, instantly understanding something. His calm face abruptly darkened, his voice icy as if it were frozen, ”Do you know what you’re doing? This is harboring a fugitive!”

Jin was a level one fugitive personally ordered to be captured by the high-level of the Hunting Leopard Clan. If she intended to shelter a fugitive, once discovered, her life would be in grave danger.

”Xun Fu, move aside immediately, hand over this beastman. I can pretend today never happened!”

Yin Luo also hurriedly ran over to persuade, ”Ah Fu, don’t be foolish! This is the monster from the Death Abyss, a level one fugitive! By harboring him, you’ll implicate yourself!”

Jin’s gaze fell on the slim yet resolute figure in front of him, and the black energy around him seemed to quiet down.

Xun Fu...

He had forgotten to ask her name.

So she was called Xun Fu, quite a nice name.

However...

He looked calmly at the beastmen below giving counsel. They had already surrounded the three of them unobtrusively, or rather, surrounded him, ready to attack at any moment.

Once Jin entered combat, he easily lost control and went berserk. When he lost control completely, he would become a monster who recognized no kin.

No matter how nice she had been to him these past few days, when truly facing a monster that might kill her at any moment, how could anyone not be afraid? Not want to stay away?

She, too, would be afraid of him, right?

He saw the struggle on the female’s face, his heart understanding, without feeling surprised.

Humans are inclined to seek benefit and avoid harm. She was just an ordinary person; how could she resist her instincts?

Hand her over then.

In light of this little silly female being nice to him these days, he wouldn’t dislike her.

But why... did he still feel a trace of melancholy and loss in his heart?

Shen Tang did not step aside. She took a deep breath, slowly walked to Jin’s side, took his hand, and said to Yue Lin with determination, ”Sorry, Captain, I refuse.”

The Ice Sword in Yue Lin’s hand instantly shattered.

He looked at her in disbelief, his gaze falling on the two of them, his heart unexpectedly feeling a pang of pain, ”Why? Xun Fu...”

Jin’s body also stiffened. He looked down at the hands the two were holding, carefully feeling the soft warmth in his palm, the madness in his eyes gradually fading away.

Yin Luo and the others were even more dumbfounded.

”Xiao Fu, don’t be foolish! He’s a monster that can lose control! You don’t even know if you’ll end up dead at his hands someday!”

Shen Tang said, ”I know better than you what he’s like. I’ve been treating him these days, and his loss of control has gradually been brought under control. As you can see, he’s now no different from a normal beastman.”

”He’s a beastman, not a monster.”

Yue Lin’s face tightened, coldly saying, ”You don’t know the truth. He can’t return to normal, it’s only temporarily under control, he could go mad and harm you at any time!”

He said, ”Xun Fu, hand him over to me!”

”Sorry, I can’t.” Shen Tang looked at him, her voice carrying a hint of a plea, ”Captain, please let him go this time. Pretend you’ve never seen us. I can vouch for him, he will never set foot in the Purification Zone, nor harm anyone.”

The female still didn’t back down. She even stood on their opposing side for this monster, negotiating with them.

Yue Lin’s fists clenched tight, only feeling a wave of overwhelming sorrow and bitterness flooding his heart.

He had liked a female for the first time, yet this female defied him for another male.

”What is your relationship with him, really?” Yue Lin slowly asked.

Jin’s heart stirred slightly, and his gaze also fell on the female’s face, seemingly waiting for her answer.

Shen Tang frowned, not knowing how to respond.

In the instant the air stagnated with silence, a commotion suddenly sounded from afar.

Jiang Mu shouted loudly, ”The main force is here!”

Shen Tang’s face changed drastically, the main force of the Hunting Leopard Clan had arrived to hunt down Jin. It was said that even the mysterious Family Head had personally led this time!

Not good, they must run quickly.

Yue Lin gave the two of them a complicated look, coldly saying, ”Take him to hide first. I’ll block them.”

Before he finished speaking, he had already led his team to intercept the main force at the shelter’s entrance.

＊＊＊

At the shelter’s city gate.

The leading general saluted him, ”Greetings to the Moon Clan Young Master. We are here to hunt down a fugitive, please allow us through, Young Master.”

Yue Lin said, ”The fugitive you’re looking for is not here. I was just here with my team capturing a high-level mutant species and did not find any trace of your wanted criminal.”

The beastmen looked at each other. They had clearly tracked the mad beast’s trail here, but the Moon Clan Young Master was blocking the gate, seemingly not wanting to let them in, and they dared not act rashly.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the ranks as a tall and burly figure stepped forward.

A deep and authoritative voice slowly spoke,

”Does the Moon Clan Young Master also intend to interfere in my clan’s affairs?”
