Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 773: Chapter 637: Does He Like Her?

Hearing this, Shen Tang froze for a moment, then blushed suddenly as if realizing something, ”You... you were awake then?”

”No.”

At that time, Jin wasn’t really awake, his consciousness was fuzzy, perhaps only briefly aware, more like in a half-asleep, half-awake state.

He originally thought he was dreaming and said something tentatively, but upon seeing the female’s slightly flushed face, his heart was gently tickled.

So, it was real.

She really had held him while she slept.

”Don’t overthink it! There’s only one bed here, and it’s cold, so it’s warmer with two people close... I wasn’t deliberately trying to hold you, it’s just that it was too cold at night...”

Noticing the man’s teasing gaze, Shen Tang gritted her teeth, deciding not to hide it anymore!

After all, he already knew, so what’s the point in concealing it? At worst, they would just sleep together, nothing would happen.

She slowly climbed back onto the bed, turning her back to him and closing her eyes tightly, feeling annoyed.

Xiao Jin glanced at her indifferently, not speaking further.

A bed neither too big nor too small, each taking half, occupying a corner, without disturbing each other.

The night deepened, the old-fashioned bulb overhead seemed shrouded in dust, its dim light falling into the narrow rental room. The wooden bed seemed aging too, turning over slightly heavily would cause it to creak softly.

Fortunately, both of them lay quietly, only the sound of their rhythmic breathing remained in the room.

Jin had no intention of sleeping. Perhaps because he had been groggy for too long, now rarely clear-headed but completely unfeeling of drowsiness.

The Black Panther youth lay with one hand behind his head, bending one long leg, listening to the steady breathing beside him, slightly turning his head to look at the female’s peaceful sleeping face, his gaze deepened.

Perhaps she was truly tired these days, falling asleep right away, completely unconcerned about the grown male she had just met a few days ago being beside her.

He naturally wouldn’t do anything to her.

It’s just... is this little female too careless?

Is she this trusting of him?

Didn’t she hold him while sleeping a few days ago, how come she is so well-behaved now?

Jin glanced at the rectangular pillow placed between them, which she deliberately set there, finding it amusing.

He exhaled lightly, closed his eyes, trying to ignore the extra sensation beside him.

Yet that faint fragrance lingered, disturbing his restless mind.

Even his body...

Jin glanced down, his face instantly darkening.

He thought of taking a cold shower again but feared the noise would wake her, making it more awkward.

He could only take several deep breaths, trying hard to suppress the restlessness within. But the heat continued to surge upwards, causing his handsome face to flush lightly and sweat to bead on his forehead.

Damn... this strange and annoying impulse is uncontrollable, purely an instinctual male reaction.

How could he feel such an impulse towards a female from a foreign clan he had just met?

Could it be from being trapped in the Abyss for too long, becoming like a rutting male beast... how embarrassing.

Jin closed his eyes, the veins on his temples slightly throbbing.

He never knew what liking a female felt like, nor did he think he would be such a casual male beast.

If it were merely driven by desire, he could easily find other ways to resolve it, even when consumed by beastly instincts and losing rationality, he might have acted against her. But not like now—tolerating an unknown identity female, so close and at such a dangerous distance, while fully conscious.

Beastmen are naturally territorial, especially males, never allowing outsiders to step into their safety zone.

This itself is a provocation.

In the past, anyone daring to approach him like this, the grass on their tomb would have been waist high.

Yet her approach doesn’t make him feel uncomfortable, nor does it seem dangerous, he even feels no aversion.

Unless...

He really did have other intentions towards her.

Jin recalled her words during the day, the female’s gaze resolute and full of love looking at him, those eyes clean and clear.

She said: she wanted to protect him, didn’t want him to be hurt by others.

Thump, thump.

The heart beat even faster.

Even with eyes closed, those clear, beautiful eyes remained imprinted in his mind.

She seemed to have hooked his soul.

Instinct told Jin this was an extremely dangerous signal. He shouldn’t keep her by his side, she’d become his weakness, even his vulnerability.

The two were so close, Jin’s gaze moved from her peaceful sleeping face, slowly to her slender fragile neck.

He could easily kill her.

But he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
