Chapter 30: Chapter 28: The Future Tyrant? (Part 2)

Why does it smell so good?

Does this fat lady really have a talent for cooking?

Jia Lan’s face showed a hint of regret; if he had helped out earlier, he could have grabbed a bite to eat.

But for him to actively ask for food, that’s absolutely impossible.

He utterly loathes this fat lady and doesn’t want to have any association with her.

It’s just a bit of barbecue; as the noble Prince of New Atlantis, what delicacies hasn’t he eaten?

Jia Lan got up irritably, moved to a more distant spot to continue resting, but the aroma of the meat kept wafting into his nose. Saliva was flowing uncontrollably, and he couldn’t even sleep.

Damn!

This fat lady must be doing it on purpose!

Jia Lan shot a cold glare in that direction, turned over, and tried his best to block out the smell of the meat.

But he’s always disdained drinking nutrient liquid, and he hadn’t eaten that evening. By now, he was already starving, driving him nearly insane, his stomach aching with hunger.

Shen Tang really was doing it on purpose. She had a mischievous smile at the corner of her lips, frequently glancing over at Jia Lan, fanning the aroma as she grilled, letting it drift farther, trying to lure the proud mermaid over to beg her for food!

Yet, after all her efforts, this mermaid’s self-control was truly strong and not tempted at all!

A trace of frustration flashed through Shen Tang’s heart.

Considering their hostile relationship, that proud mermaid definitely wouldn’t voluntarily yield. Thinking this, she picked up a few freshly grilled skewers and walked in Jia Lan’s direction.

”What are you doing here?” Jia Lan opened his eyes to see Shen Tang approaching, his face cold and resentful.

”I noticed you haven’t eaten tonight, grilled some meat, and thought I’d bring you some as I couldn’t finish it all.”

Only then did Jia Lan notice the large skewers of meat in Shen Tang’s hands. He swallowed his sarcastic words, pursed his lips, and said disdainfully, ”I don’t need your charity, and don’t even think I’d like you.”

”...” Shen Tang was speechless inside. This guy really does care about face to the point of suffering!

Clearly, the yearning was spilling from his eyes, yet he still wouldn’t admit defeat!

She shoved the skewers into his hand, ”If you want to eat, then eat. Is it so hard to say? I personally brought this to you, why act so pretentious?”

Jia Lan’s face showed discomfort, angrily shouting, ”I don’t want to eat it!”

”If you don’t want it, then throw it away.” Shen Tang said this and turned to leave, not bothering to speak with him any longer.

She remembered the original story: ten years later, a coup occurred in New Atlantis, and Jia Lan would inherit the true lineage to rule over the sea area.

But he became nothing less than a mermaid tyrant, bloodthirsty, cruel, and depraved.

Whenever he had a headache, the seas would run red with blood, and only the heroine Shen Qingli could cure his pain. The exalted Sea Emperor dismissed his harem for her and stayed almost every night in Shen Qingli’s chambers, thus becoming the sharpest blade in her hand, clearing all obstacles for her.

The current boy still had a slightly youthful face, and Shen Tang couldn’t associate Jia Lan with the capricious mermaid tyrant of the original work.

This guy’s temper was foul and not very likable, but how did he become like that?

A thought flashed through Shen Tang’s mind.

If Jia Lan were to become an unstoppable bloodthirsty blade in the future, then why couldn’t this blade be controlled by her?

Jia Lan silently watched Shen Tang walk away, sitting by the campfire, chatting and laughing with Shen Li, not glancing back at him. It seemed she really just brought him some food without any other malicious intentions or deliberate entanglement.

Has this fat lady really turned over a new leaf?

Smelling the aroma of the skewers in his hand, he swallowed his saliva and finally couldn’t resist taking a bite. Immediately, his blue eyes lit up.

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, juices overflowing, the seasonings were just right, flavorful, not overly salty or spicy.

Jia Lan couldn’t help but remember the meat soup she brought him that day. Later, when he overheard Lang Xiao chatting, he said that his female partner and Shen Tang spent the whole morning making that pot of meat soup.

At the time, Jia Lan only thought the fat lady bribed Lang Xiao to say nice things, giving flowers to Buddha to please him. After all, that fat lady was as greedy and lazy as ever, never even stepping into the kitchen, how could she possibly cook anything?

But now, he couldn’t believe it, the meat soup was indeed personally made by Shen Tang.

The disgust in Jia Lan’s eyes subsided, and his gaze towards Shen Tang was filled with complex emotions, suddenly feeling that the ugly female wasn’t so annoying anymore.
