Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 23: Chapter 22: Touching the Fox’s Tail

Shen Tang heard this strange sound, her cheeks instantly turned red, recalling some late night website scenarios, she wasn’t sure whether to go in, fearing she might witness an awkward scene.

”System, what’s going on?”

[Shen Li is advancing in breakthrough, causing mental agitation, this is precisely when he is most vulnerable, host should seize the opportunity.]

Shen Tang hesitated at the entrance, unsure if barging in would have the opposite effect, ”What happens if he fails the breakthrough?”

The system briefly gave two words,

[He will die.]

Shen Tang’s heart sank slightly, but Shen Li is the male lead, he hasn’t even met the female lead yet, he shouldn’t die so easily, right?

The system promptly reminded her, [If the target of forced strategy dies, the host’s task will automatically be deemed a failure, please host do not harbor any illusions.]

Shen Tang couldn’t bear the risk, reluctantly stepped into the cave.

In the dim cave, Shen Li leaned against the wall, his silk-like fiery red hair hung messily over his shoulders, his handsome face showed an unusual flush, yet his expression was painfully restrained, his clothes almost soaked in sweat...

His hands clenched tightly, almost digging into his palms.

His rationality gradually blurred.

He exposed fiery red fox ears and a slender, fluffy tail, entering a state of half-beastification, this was a sign of losing control.

Suddenly, Shen Li heard footsteps coming from the entrance, his cold pupils shrank instantly, quickly pulling out the handgun strapped to his leg.

Just waiting for the intruder to come in, ready to shoot them through the head!

”...Shen Li, it’s me.”

A cautious and familiar voice came from the doorway.

A flicker of astonishment crossed Shen Li’s gradually dispersing gaze, he doubted if he heard wrong, how did that female come here?

Bang! The handgun fell to the ground, Shen Li’s tall body instantly collapsed into the corner.

He leaned against the cold hard stone wall, one leg raised, his head lowered, the fringes on his forehead were wet with cold sweat, his Adam’s apple swallowed fiercely, veins bulged on his neck, pulse could be seen jumping crazily.

Shen Tang came in and saw this scene, the man’s condition was worse than imagined.

She tensed her body, uneasily scanning Shen Li’s flushed face, how does it look a bit like... mating season?

[Host guessed correctly, beastmen during mental agitation period crave female’s comfort extremely, this yearning also causes body hormonal changes... In short, Shen Li’s current state is very similar to entering Beast Clan mating season, host good luck in taking him down!]

Shen Tang’s corner of the mouth twitched, mating season does not mean welcoming all comers, she didn’t want to force and end up like Xiao Jin.

”Who told you to come here?” Shen Li’s voice was hoarse and cold, different from his gentle manner during the day!

”I have something to find you for, but you weren’t there, someone said they saw you heading this way, I followed to check, hearing voices inside the cave, didn’t expect it’s really you.”

Shen Tang walked towards him.

Shen Li’s face was pale, the redness at the corners of his eyes worsened, his voice cold and violent, ”Get away, stay away from me!”

Shen Tang nervously bit her lip, a flash of unease in her heart, isn’t this situation different from what the system said about mating season?

This is... too fierce!

A bold idea suddenly flashed in Shen Tang’s mind.

Beastmen experiencing mental agitation was quite common, Shen Li didn’t need to run so far and hide in a cave, staying with the army would’ve made it easier to receive female’s help... unless, this unusual behavior was to avoid outsiders discovering a secret!

If Shen Li really disguised his identity, his only flaw would be unable to control his beast form during gene agitation, revealing his true appearance...

Shen Tang swallowed, testing, ”I just want to help you with mental comfort, delay any longer and you’ll transform into beast form too late—Ah!”

Shen Li suddenly pinned her to the ground, his hands turning into ferocious claws, viciously gripping her neck.

The pale moonlight spilled into the cave entrance, half of the man’s face hidden in shadow, beast-like red pupils glinting with cold harsh light, like a life-taking phantom.

Shen Tang’s heartbeat raced, breathing difficult, she saw clearly the drastic change in Shen Li’s expression in that moment... he’s been disguising all these years? Why? Did he really accidentally stray into the imperial palace and get picked up as an orphan?

Shen Tang didn’t dare think further, smuggler or spy?

She avoided the man’s cold murderous gaze, skillfully hiding her panic, she pursed her lips, voice trembling, aggrieved and scared, ”I... I know you hate me, you don’t want me to do mental comforting, then forget it.”

”It’s just my brain gone mad, fearing you’d get into trouble, that’s why I’m here doing this unnecessary action!”

”...” Shen Li’s lips tightened, the force in his palms slightly relaxed, he spoke in a deep voice, ”Today’s matter, don’t mention it to anyone else!”

The cold light in his eyes remained chilling, as if the female here said anything wrong, he would immediately deal with her, dump the body in the wild unknown.

Shen Tang nodded vigorously, ”I! I didn’t see anything!”

Shen Li wanted to say more, but he completely lost his strength, a painful low groan came from his throat, collapsing heavily to the ground.

Shen Tang took the chance to escape from his grasp, running away.

Just reached the cave entrance when a low painful voice came from the man behind, ”Come back!”

She turned to walk back to his side, aggrieved and indignant, ”Didn’t you tell me to get lost?”

Shen Li remained silent, feeling the power within increasingly uncontrollable, he closed his eyes, giving up the struggle, ”Mental comfort, start now.”

With his consent, Shen Tang eagerly attempted, her gaze inevitably falling on the man’s handsome flawless face.

Usually Shen Li was too gentle and composed, at this moment his clothes were messy, eyes flushing, he exuded a fatal charm captivating souls, simply the legendary fox spirit ruining countries!

That fluffy, soft fiery red fox tail, lightly swaying occasionally brushing her calves and ankles, Shen Tang itchingly unable to resist, took the opportunity to secretly stroke it, the fuzzy texture truly captivating!

Unexpectedly this little act of taking advantage was noticed by Shen Li, he instantly opened his eyes, looked at her with disgust, ”What are you doing?”

”Slipped, hand slipped.” Shen Tang smirked.

Shen Li’s eyes were deep, but right now, he was too lazy to argue with this flirtatious female.

Shen Tang dared not make any out-of-line moves, wholeheartedly committing to the work of mental comforting, white light in her palms slowly dispelling the black mist over Shen Li.

When the black fog was cleared, Shen Tang turned her head to look, the man beside her had his eyes closed, breathing calmly... he had fallen asleep.

Her energy was almost exhausted too.

Thanks to Shen Li’s gift of the crystal stone last time, Shen Tang only felt physically fatigued, not disgracefully faint like last time.

[Ding! Congratulations host on completing side task: providing mental comfort for at least one male lead, reward: Weight Loss Pill ×1, reward automatically delivered to system backpack, please host self-verify!]

Shen Tang glanced at Shen Li asleep on the ground, she couldn’t haul such a large person back, couldn’t call others to help, estimated Shen Li would wake soon, she didn’t concern herself further, headed back to the team first.

Latter that night, during her bath, Shen Tang took the Weight Loss Pill.

System reminded her, she could use the Beauty Cream again.

Only one last portion of Beauty Cream remained, Shen Tang decided to use it all at once.
