Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

The Beast of a Thousand Tentacles — the Kraken of the Northern Sea!

A boiling swarm of clustered tentacles surged forth, and countless tendrils lunged at the Patronus Evan had become, determined to tear it to shreds.

Even if the tentacles that entered the light mist had become intangible, and some tentacles had even disintegrated, the Kraken… No, Herpo the Foul who controlled it didn’t care at all.

He didn’t care about the losses. He didn’t care what damage the Kraken suffered.

Or perhaps he knew. Perhaps he had realized what Evan and Dumbledore intended to do, and he wanted to stop it before it happened.

He was doing everything in his power to destroy Evan’s Patronus, desperately trying to stop him at all costs.

This was a battle where neither side could retreat, and could only move forward until the other was destroyed.

It was either survival or death, everything had reached a critical moment.

The brain of this Dark wizard was now more like a parasite, one that had latched itself deeply onto the Kraken, fusing with it completely.

This fusion had turned the Kraken into a new kind of evil god, a distinct entity, possessing unparalleled physical destructive force and immense mental power.

In the silver light mist, the cluster of tentacles turned into black mist, but thicker tentacles behind continued to rush forward until they finally penetrated into the Patronus.

At the moment of penetration, Evan felt a sharp pain, and his consciousness retreated from the Patronus back into his own body.

His consciousness was in a trance, and Evan’s whole body was trembling, and his nerves were pounding with his heart.

“Expecto Patronum!” he shouted, ignoring the pain and struggling to regain control of his disintegrating Patronus.

In front of them, the lake had turned into a hell of tentacles, with countless tentacles wriggling and boiling, swaying wildly in every direction.

Between countless tentacles, Evan’s Patronus was being torn apart, piece by piece, its energy continuously stripped away.

Compared with so many tentacle clusters, the originally huge black panther looked like a mere kitten.

Weak, pitiful and helpless, it was like a small boat in a storm, liable to capsize at any moment.

Though the Patronus was made of energy, the Kraken’s tentacles were capable of inflicting true, fundamental damage, tearing through it without hesitation.

Beside him, Harry had also summoned his Patronus to assist Evan, but it was immediately torn apart and scattered, vanishing without a trace.

It lasted less than a second, and even though Harry tried to cast the Patronus Charm again, it was no use; he couldn’t even summon the shape anymore.

Harry knelt on the ground, his face pale, looking as though he might faint at any moment.

All the happy emotions had vanished from the air, and the atmosphere now felt as though thousands of Dementors had appeared here.

Evan thought so too. He felt colder and colder, chilled by fear, the signature effect of a Dementor’s presence.

As he thought this, dreadful memories began flooding his mind. The adventures he had experienced and the enemies he had encountered over the years all turned into nightmares crashing through Evan’s consciousness. He gasped for breath, and then he noticed that the scene in front of him had begun to change!

Those boiling tentacles morphed into Dementors, Dementors without cloaks.

They were coming!

Blub-blub, blub-blub!

The remaining lake water was bubbling furiously, and many black particles emerged from it.

They were all Dementors. Leaving the water, these particles quickly transformed into Dementors.

Happiness was fading away, and terrible memories were emerging.

Morbidly tumbling tentacles, scabby and rotting bodies, and soulless bodies, but these were not the most terrifying. The most terrifying were the Dementor’s mouths.

They were irregularly shaped holes, gasping hungrily, greedily devouring the scattered energy, along with all courage, hope, happiness, and increasingly thin air.

But that was not all. This was not enough to satisfy the Kraken and its army of Dementors. What they craved most was souls.

They could no longer hold back; they wanted to devour every last bit of energy, flesh, and soul!

The cold mist enveloped again, but this time it no longer carried the positive energy of hope, but a breath of despair.

The sound disappeared, the senses vanished, and even the colors faded away!

Now, only oppression remained, fear followed like a shadow, and despair and madness boiled through the air.

Darkness became the only color in the space, courage and hope dissipated, and the void crept in to fill the heart.

Evan tried his best to fight and maintain the fragmented Patronus, but the will to fight was slipping from him.

Under the crushing weight of terror, he knew he was nearing his limit; his body, his magic, his mind, everything was at its end.

Still, Evan struggled to keep his Patronus going, and turned to look at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore had been standing still, his eyes closed, and his right hand holding the wand was placed across his chest.

Quiet, calm, and serene.

Just as always, he seemed to radiate quiet reassurance, as though he were unaware of the horror unfolding around him.

But the spell in his right hand was flowing quickly, reflecting that his heart was not calm.

Evan had no idea what Dumbledore was preparing, or how long it would take, so he tried his best to control his Patronus to buy whatever time he could.

Time passed, and every second felt like a century.

At last, Evan’s broken Patronus could no longer stop the advance of the cluster of tentacles and the army of Dementors, and they attacked the three of them.

Oppression descended, and this time there was no Patronus to shield them!

Suddenly, Dumbledore opened his eyes, and his blue gaze flashed with cold fury.

He flicked his wand and vanished from the spot.

Evan was stunned for a moment, and hurriedly turned around to look at the cluster of tentacles and thousands of Dementors in front of him.

Among these ugly and twisted creatures, he looked for Dumbledore’s figure.

There was no loud noise, no gorgeous colors, and even no magic reaction.

But at the moment when Dumbledore disappeared, everything changed.

Time seemed to stop at this second, and the entire scene was frozen here, rendered in shades of black and white.

Evan opened his eyes wide, and he felt as if he himself had been frozen in time.

Then, he saw a dark green glow appear at the edge of his vision, expanding outward little by little.

That was the center of the tentacle horde and the army of Dementors; the place where the Twin Serpent Staff rested.

The dark green halo was expanding slowly, but undeniably. It was steady and unwavering, even though countless tentacles and Dementors tried to block its path.

At the heart of everything, Dumbledore appeared beside the Twin Serpent Staff. He reached out with his right hand and slowly grasped it.

The two green serpents coiled around the staff opened their eyes.

The sleeping beast had awakened, bursting out with amazing power.

With Dumbledore holding the Staff as the center, the dark green energy halo spread outward, destroying everything it touched.

From Evan’s perspective, he saw a dark green color gradually replacing the black and white in his sight, becoming the only color between heaven and earth.

This halo was composed of countless dark green runes, and eventually formed the shape of a gate, a doorway leading to another realm.
