Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

A huge magnetic force came from the statue of the Dementor, pulling Dumbledore, Evan, and Harry over, dragging them forward, and forward.

When Evan’s feet touched the ground again, they had arrived at Azkaban.

Even without the Dementors, Azkaban was still unpleasant.

It was midsummer, but the temperature around was very low, as if it were winter. Evan’s breath turned into bursts of white mist.

“Very well, there is no one else, you two can put away the Invisibility Cloak, there is no need to wear it now!” Dumbledore’s voice rang out in the darkness, “Lumos!”

“Lumos!” Evan also took out his wand, and the golden light dispelled the darkness around him.

He looked around. This was a small black room without any decoration or furniture. The shabby floor was rotten and exuded an unpleasant smell, as if something were rotting.

The Dementors had left an indelible mark on Azkaban. Even if they were not there, the atmosphere of despair still enveloped the island.

“Is this Azkaban?” Harry also looked around curiously, his expression full of awe.

“Strictly speaking, it is not. This is just an external tower, used for teleportation,” Evan explained. “The main building of Azkaban is a castle about the same size as Hogwarts. It is said to have been left behind by Salazar Slytherin.”

So, Azkaban and Hogwarts should share a similar architectural style. They were built during the same era and were once both castles belonging to the Slytherin family.

Unfortunately, because it was shrouded in thick fog all year round, almost no one had seen the full picture of Azkaban Castle with their own eyes.

In the minds of wizards, this place was filled with mystery and terrifying legends. People were very shy about it and didn’t want to mention it.

Therefore, no one would compare whether the architectural styles of Azkaban and Hogwarts Castle were very similar.

“This way,” said Dumbledore, leading Evan and Harry out of the room.

The last time Evan had come, two Dementors had been stationed at the door. Now, not even a Ministry wizard was present.

In fact, there was no one in the entire building except the three of them, until they walked along the stairs to the incomplete wooden plank road.

Just as Evan had told Harry earlier, the building they were in was a towering spire, separate from Azkaban itself, built on a reef far away from the island, and the only way into Azkaban was across that walkway.

Outside the walkway, the dense fog of the North Sea still shrouded everything, with visibility less than one foot. The fog was hazy and obscured, as if something lurked within it.

Perhaps the Dementors hadn’t truly left Azkaban. Maybe they were merely hidden in the fog, still circling the island.

The deep darkness and damp mist made the place feel incredibly uncomfortable. The eyes had lost their function here, and only the sound of the sea crashing against the rocks could be heard.

“Professor, are we going across?” Evan asked, stretching his arm as straight as possible, but the light from his wand barely dispersed the surrounding darkness.

Crossing this walkway would lead directly into Azkaban, where there should be wizards from the Ministry of Magic.

But from this distance, they probably didn’t need to worry about being spotted from the other side.

The fog was so thick that even if someone was on duty, they wouldn’t be able to see anything.

“No, we’re not going into the prison, we’re going down from here,” said Dumbledore, pointing to the cliff below.

Go down?!

What was down there?

And more importantly, how were they supposed to get down?

Dumbledore raised his wand, and a thick rope emerged from its tip.

It writhed like a snake, wrapping tightly around Dumbledore’s waist, and then around Evan and then Harry.

“Grab the rope, Evan, Harry, our destination is in the sea below, we’re going in,” said Dumbledore, sweeping his wand forward.

With his movement, the other end of the rope was flung forcefully outward and disappeared into the thick mist above. No one could tell what it had latched onto.

Then, the end of the rope that was wrapped around Dumbledore, Evan, and Harry began to move, pulling the three of them downward.

If it hadn’t been for the heavy fog, the descent might have felt quite thrilling; but right now, Evan didn’t feel much at all. It was as though he were sliding endlessly down a tunnel with no end in sight.

The tunnel seemed to go on forever, until finally, just as he started to think they might never stop, a chill rose up from beneath his feet.

It was the sea water!

They had descended into the sea!

At that moment, Evan and his friends were standing on a black rock half-submerged in water. Waves churned at their feet, frothing and foaming.

The tower they had descended from could no longer be seen. It had blended completely into the darkness and thick mist above.

Evan was still full of questions. Dumbledore had just said their destination lay in the waters below. Were they really going in? Into the sea?

He had seen the dead evil god in the deep sea below Azkaban in his illusion before. Could that actually be real?!

Evan had originally thought it was just an illusion. If something that terrifying truly existed beneath the island, there was no way the Ministry of Magic wouldn’t have discovered it… right?

“Professor?”

“The remains left by Slytherin are under the island of Azkaban, that is, in the sea,” said Dumbledore. “You both know how to use the Bubble-Head Charm, don’t you?”

“Yes!”

“No problem!”

“Very well, then use this magic. We are going in. It may become colder in a while,” said Dumbledore, tapping Evan and Harry on the shoulders with his wand in turn, “This charm may help you.”

In an instant, Evan’s body became warm and comfortable. Then, two comical-looking air bubbles appeared around his and Harry’s heads.

Dumbledore also had a bubble around his head. Moving with agility that defied his age, he slipped smoothly from the rock into the water, swimming down into the pitch-black depths.

Evan and Harry followed. The sea water was icy cold, and it seemed that even magic had lost its effect. Evan felt the chill seep deep into his core.

Along with darkness and cold, the unpleasant smell became more and more intense. Evan felt as if he was shrouded in despair, as though the figure swimming beside him wasn’t Harry, but a Dementor.

In front of him, Dumbledore’s figure had become a small, flickering point of light.

If it weren’t for the light of the wand, they might not have been able to see Dumbledore clearly.

Diving was not difficult. After the clothes were soaked by the sea water, they immediately became swollen and heavy, dragging them downward as if eager to pull them straight to the bottom.

Even with the protective bubble over his head, Evan could still smell the pungent salt and seaweed in the water.

Dumbledore led them through the rocks below, diving toward a dark underwater fissure.

The crack between the rocks didn’t look remarkable at first, but the deeper they swam, the more it opened up. Evan remembered the direction. They were heading toward the center of Azkaban Island.

It felt as though they were entering Azkaban itself, but in this strange, hidden way.

Could it be that they were going to keep diving until they reached that evil god?
