God's Imitator

After carefully reading the rules, Chen Guangming decisively exchanged 1,500 points of chips, then consecutively performed two forgings on the ”Training Card.”

The first attempt received a B rating, and the second received an A rating.

Although these results were fairly good for a newcomer, he still ended up with a net loss of 300 minutes of visa time.

This was because when forging the same Training Card multiple times, each attempt required an additional payment of 500 points of chips.

Chen Guangming seemed to have discovered something. He decisively exchanged 10,000 points of chips and requested that the others do the same.

Afterward, these four players began hammering away continuously in the ‘Equipment Forging’ room.

...

After trying two or three times, Xu Zhao also discovered the trick involved.

Clearly, the ‘Equipment Forging’ room also contained a method for obtaining stable profits, though it was hidden differently than in the other rooms.

The order in which the fragments fell was different each time, so most players would instinctively view this game as purely a test of reflexes. However, in reality, these falling fragments followed certain specific patterns.

Approximately every 5 to 10 fragments would form a specific structure, and as long as one could become familiar with all the structures, they could roughly predict what would come next.

Most players would have difficulty quickly discovering this pattern, because most players probably wouldn’t observe with a specific purpose in mind, and their minds would be entirely focused on how to hit the fragments at the right moment, treating it as a game that relied completely on reflexes and hand speed.

But for a player like Chen Guangming, this pattern wasn’t difficult to spot.

Clearly, this was probably the backdoor that the God’s Imitator who designed this game room had left for themselves.

It was just that this God’s Imitator most likely hadn’t come to this game hall.

What Chen Guangming, Xu Zhao, and the others needed to do next was to familiarize themselves with the fixed patterns as much as possible and quickly enable themselves to stably achieve A ratings or even S ratings, thereby rapidly obtaining profits.

Because even after observing these patterns, they still needed a certain amount of practice to develop muscle memory, which in itself required time.

While diligently practicing, Xu Zhao thought of a new question.

”But... what’s the difference between this kind of stable profit and the stable profit model in ’Simple Poker’?

”Why wasn’t Chen Guangming interested in those two rooms, but is very optimistic about the ’Equipment Forging’ room? He even exchanged 10,000 points of chips all at once.”

...

Soon, another half hour passed.

The game welcomed its third dividend distribution.

Xu Zhao looked at his earnings for the past half hour and felt quite satisfied.

After practicing for a period of time, he could now stably obtain an S rating in about half of the games, with the other matches basically stable at an A rating.

Thirty minutes of game time was roughly enough to complete 10 rounds.

According to the game rules, exchanging 1,000 points of chips would grant one ”Practice Card.” Like Chen Guangming, Xu Zhao had exchanged 10,000 points of chips in one go, so he additionally obtained 10 practice cards.

These cards didn’t have any special functions, but could be used to start games.

The first time starting a game cost a fixed 500 points of chips, and the second time cost a fixed 1,000 points of chips.

Therefore, forging only once could save 500 chips.

During the practice process, Xu Zhao’s success rate was also gradually improving. After combining the profits from S ratings and A ratings, Xu Zhao had earned a net profit of about 7,000 points of chips.

Adding in the chips he had exchanged earlier, he now had approximately 17,000 chips for the current room in hand.

The four people immediately went to the room entrance to collect their dividends.

The eight players within the 12-person group were still earning profits in ‘Compare Sizes’ and ‘Simple Poker,’ four players were playing in ‘Sea Minesweeper,’ and two players were also in ‘Auction Tycoon,’ so not many players had yet discovered the stable profit method in ‘Equipment Forging.’

Exchanging for dividends at this time was the most cost-effective.

However, Chen Guangming still reminded them, ”Don’t exchange too much. Leave yourself enough chips to continue playing.

”There will be plenty of opportunities to earn visa time in the future.”

Xu Zhao nodded. They had all already seen that Chen Guangming was very optimistic about the long-term value of this room’s chips, so they weren’t surprised by such a request.

[The dividend amount for this room this time is: 98,000 minutes of visa time.]

[The chip exchange ratio for the current room is: ”Chips : Visa Time = 100 : 100”]

Seeing this number, Xu Zhao was momentarily stunned. ”Hm? This much?”

Xu Zhao was somewhat surprised. He had actually already guessed that this dividend would be relatively large. After all, not many people had been playing in the ‘Equipment Forging’ room before, and most of the guaranteed 30,000 minutes of visa time in dividends was still there.

And they had played for so long that they had definitely activated quite a bit of the quota.

But even so, this number was still much higher than he had expected. Even if the four of them exchanged all their chips, there would still be some left over.

Not only that, but the players at the entrances of other rooms also clearly showed signs of commotion, with many people appearing very excited.

Xu Zhao looked at the reactions of the other players and realized this should be a widespread phenomenon.

”In other words... after entering the second hour, the dividend cap that players unlock through the number of games played has increased?

”Was the soft cap removed? Or did the dividend increase from each game go up?

”Either way, this is good news.”

Although the current room chip exchange ratio was quite tempting, Xu Zhao and the others still followed Chen Guangming’s advice and only exchanged a portion of their chips.

They kept approximately 5,000 points of chips to continue producing more in the game.

After the previous stage of practice, their proficiency had clearly improved. The more games with S ratings they played afterward, the higher their profits would naturally be.

Players in other rooms also began to noticeably become more active. Many players could be seen who had already obtained Death Immunity Cards at the chip exchange counter, and many players went to the auction terminal to check the current price of Death Immunity Cards.

But regardless, after the dividends in each room substantially increased, the atmosphere in the entire hall underwent a great change.

...

At the same time, He Xiaojun was also full of anticipation as he successfully obtained his dividend at the entrance of the ‘Auction Tycoon’ room.

[The dividend amount for this room this time is: 73,000 minutes of visa time.]

[The chip exchange ratio for the current room is: ”Chips : Visa Time = 100 : 100”]

Seeing this chip exchange ratio, He Xiaojun couldn’t help but feel invigorated.

He counted the chips in his hand, a total of 18,900 chips. After the dividend quotas for each room were further increased, the profits from this room had also become quite considerable all at once.

After keeping 3,000 chips to continue purchasing auction items, he exchanged all the remaining chips for visa time.

Including the nearly 5,000 minutes of visa time he already had, He Xiaojun had earned exactly 20,000 minutes of visa time.

With a ”pop,” two cards ejected from below the chip exchange counter.

He Xiaojun hurriedly grabbed these two cards in his hands. Touching the solid card backs, he felt much more at ease.

However, after glancing at the front of the cards, He Xiaojun felt his heart go half cold.

Because these two cards were both for the same body part: helmet.

”...My luck is really too terrible!”
