Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Why Are You Back?

The Human Weapon Lineage possessed a Secret Technique to forge the human body into a weapon. However, it had high requirements for the human body. The target must be at least Seventh-Grade, ideally an expert in Body Refining.

Now, Mr. Sixth had set his sights on Lu Yuan.

”Heh, you’re celebrating a bit too early,” Lu Yuan sneered.

On the surface, he was a reasonably strong Seventh-Grade Martial Artist. In reality, he was also a Weapon Master at the Master’s Peak. A Weapon Master possessed a detailed understanding of Basic Arrays and theoretical formations. He also had Talents like Thunder Control and Eagle Eye. These provided a massive boost to his overall combat prowess, often playing crucial roles in critical moments.

Just like now, Lu Yuan could grasp the weaknesses of the array.

Then...

CRACKLE!

Massive amounts of lightning appeared and condensed on the Wind Thunder Saber, growing increasingly ferocious and explosive.

The Thunder Blade Triple Annihilation consisted of three techniques. Aside from Thunderstorm and Thunder Kill, there was another move Lu Yuan had never used. That was the Third Technique, which was also the strongest: Thunder Annihilation.

He hadn’t used it because he hadn’t needed to, nor had it been necessary. But now...

”Struggle all you want, it’s useless! You can’t break this array!” Mr. Sixth laughed triumphantly.

He had prepared this move to deal with Sixth-Grade Martial Artists. Using it on Lu Yuan now... it would absolutely crush him. It was foolproof.

”Dying by my hand is no injustice to you—”

SWISH!

BOOM!

Right then, a streak of sword light suddenly split the Grand Array open. Pushing forward with an unstoppable, crushing force, it obliterated the entire formation in an instant. Everything, including the Giant Puppet, was shattered to pieces. Nothing was spared, nor could anything resist it.

”Lu Yuan, are you alright?” Su Wan rushed over, her face full of concern.

She was the one who had just used the Life-Saving Sword Essence provided by her family, breaking the Sixth-Grade Array in one fell swoop.

CRACK!

Lightning flashed beneath Lu Yuan’s feet as he dashed in front of Mr. Sixth. ”Thunderstorm!”

The blade descended, and its Power of Destruction was reduced.

CRACKLE!

A massive surge of lightning swallowed Mr. Sixth. His defenses were breached in an instant...

SWISH!

Lu Yuan spun around and lunged at Yu Chenzhou.

Yu Chenzhou was already fleeing. He had run the moment Su Wan used the Sword Essence to shatter the array. But he couldn’t escape.

SWISH!

Stepping on lightning, Lu Yuan covered dozens of feet with every stride. In a few bounds, he caught up to Yu Chenzhou and blocked his path.

”Why are you in such a hurry to leave?”

”Ahhhh!” Yu Chenzhou was ruthless enough to directly burn his Essence Blood and pour it into his Profound Weapon. Pushing his combat prowess to the absolute limit, he swung furiously at Lu Yuan. ”Die!”

”Thunder—Annihilation!”

Lu Yuan stopped holding back, giving him the respect he deserved. With a direct strike of Thunder Annihilation, Yu Chenzhou was reduced to a charred husk in the blink of an eye, dead as dead could be.

”Like father, like son—jackals of the same den! You all deserve to die!” Lu Yuan snorted coldly. He confiscated the Profound Weapon and headed back.

”Why did you come back?”

”I was worried about you! I was afraid you’d get killed,” Su Wan said, standing on the hillside. She looked at Lu Yuan with genuine earnestness.

”They don’t have what it takes to kill me.” Lu Yuan walked toward the battlefield from earlier. ”Since you used your Life-Saving Sword Essence, your family should be here soon.”

”It’s fine. Let them come.” Su Wan was nonchalant. It was given to be used. The situation had been critical, and she didn’t regret using it.

What else could Lu Yuan say to that?

”This is your first time out on a mission.”

She had already used one on her previous outing.

”Yeah, what about it?” Su Wan looked at him.

”Nothing.” Lu Yuan shook his head and gathered the puppet fragments and debris. These were valuable and could be studied once he returned.

He then walked over to Mr. Sixth’s corpse and searched him. He soon found a booklet detailing the production methods of some puppets. Fortunately, it had been kept securely on the inside and wasn’t damaged. He pocketed it as well.

Finally, he picked up the corpse.

”Let’s go.”

”Mhm,” Su Wan nodded. ”Were you really confident you could break that array earlier?” she asked curiously.

”Besides being a Martial Artist, I’m also a Weapon Master,” Lu Yuan explained simply.

”Ohhh,” Su Wan understood.

Weapon Masters studied arrays and generally knew a thing or two about them. Arrays were static, but people were dynamic. A Sixth-Grade Array should theoretically be able to suppress and trap a Sixth-Grade Martial Artist. However, when the opponent was someone who also understood arrays, the actual confrontation required factoring in array mastery as well. Plus, strong Martial Power could forcefully break an array.

”Looks like I acted unnecessarily.”

”No.” Lu Yuan shook his head and looked at Su Wan seriously. ”You did great.”

”Huh? Really?” Su Wan felt a bit self-conscious under his gaze, her heart fluttering nervously.

”Of course!” Lu Yuan confirmed. True sincerity was priceless!

”That’s good, then.” Su Wan smiled.

”Lu Yuan!”

”Lu Yuan!”

”You’re both okay, thank goodness!”

Jiang Hongfei, Liu Zhi, and Chen Qian appeared. They hadn’t gone far and had been carefully observing from a few hundred meters away.

”Is that what’s in your hands...”

”That birdman, and...”

”How did he get burned like this? He’s practically charcoal.”

The three of them were astonished. Mr. Sixth was relatively intact, just covered in bruises. But under Thunder Annihilation, Yu Chenzhou had been turned directly into charcoal. One could only imagine how ruthless the strike had been and how terrifying the power of Thunder Annihilation was.

”Yu Qiuyang’s father, Yu Chenzhou.” Lu Yuan tossed the two corpses over for Jiang Hongfei and Liu Zhi to carry.

”Yu Chenzhou! I can’t believe he dared to show up!” Liu Zhi’s expression instantly darkened. He had nearly been killed by Yu Qiuyang back then. And now, the man’s father had actually tried to seek revenge.

”It seems the Yu family still hasn’t given up!” Jiang Hongfei clenched his fists as well. He had also been heavily injured, barely escaping death.

”Now we have a reason to deal with them,” Lu Yuan instructed. ”When we get back, find out who else belongs to Yu Qiuyang’s branch. Arrest them all and wipe them out in one go.”

Since both father and son were dead, the rest had to be dealt with. Otherwise, they would remain future threats. Colluding with the Yanyue Sect was grounds for collective punishment.

”Got it!” Jiang Hongfei agreed readily, visibly excited.

”Wipe them out in one go!” Liu Zhi was also looking forward to it.

Only Chen Qian felt slightly uneasy. Implicating innocent family members felt somewhat unrighteous. How many people would be dragged into this all at once? The young children of the Yu family were certainly innocent.

”If you cut the weeds but don’t uproot them, they will grow back when the spring breeze blows. When born into a clan, no one is innocent. Moreover, colluding with an Evil Cult means they are getting exactly what they deserve. If they want someone to blame, they can blame Yu Chenzhou,” Lu Yuan explained indifferently.

Last time, Yu Qiuyang hadn’t been linked to an Evil Cult; it was just a spur-of-the-moment betrayal. It was true that disaster shouldn’t fall upon family members then. But this time was different. The Yu family had planted the seed of disaster.

Adults had to be ruthless; otherwise, survival was impossible. Because this world was a man-eating one. If you weren’t ruthless, you would end up as prey on someone else’s plate... The Yu family had already lost two; there was no harm in losing a few more.

”Let’s go!”

The five of them mounted their horses and headed back to the Jade Capital.

Not long after they left Huaixi Town, a streak of light flew toward them.

”Big Brother!” Su Wan called out.

The newcomer was none other than the number one figure of the Su family’s younger generation, Su Wan’s older brother, Su Yu. At thirty-three years old, he was already a Fifth-Grade Powerhouse.

”What happened?” Su Yu asked, his eyes first landing on the two charred corpses strapped behind their horses.

”This one is from the Yanyue Sect. He set up a Sixth-Grade Array,” Lu Yuan spoke up, stepping in to explain.

”The Yanyue Sect... And they actually dared to scheme against you too...” Su Yu’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. Immediately, the Primordial Qi in the surroundings surged, and sparks of electricity flickered.

The current generation of the Su family had eight sons, but Su Wan was the only daughter. One could easily imagine how she was treasured as the apple of everyone’s eye. For the Yanyue Sect to dare lay a hand on Su Wan was a provocation against the entire Su family!

”The Yanyue Sect was mainly after me,” Lu Yuan said, pulling the aggro back to himself.

”You?” Su Yu’s gaze finally landed on Lu Yuan. ”And you are...”
