Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Yin Yang Dragon Essence Pill, Mr. Sixth

”Yin Yang Dragon Essence Pill!”

It was Lu Yuan’s first time hearing the name of this Pill. However, considering it involved both yin and yang as well as a dragon, it was definitely not simple.

”That’s right!” the Cursed Minion confirmed, explaining further. ”Locust trees gather yang and conceal yin, so the Thousand Locust Array can condense the Power of Yin and Yang. Since this place isn’t far from the Jade Capital, the Power of Yin and Yang can intercept a bit of Dragon Qi, which makes refining the Yin Yang Dragon Essence Pill possible.

”The Yin Yang Dragon Essence Pill is even more precious than the Creation Pill. It’s the best Pill for improving one’s innate talent and constitution, and it increases the chances of achieving the Unity of Heaven and Man. As long as one’s aptitude isn’t too terrible, taking it after reaching the Sixth Grade will practically guarantee a breakthrough to the Fifth Grade.”

”How do you know so much when you’re just a Cursed Minion? Besides, how do I know how much of what you’re saying is true or false?” Lu Yuan wasn’t convinced.

”It’s true! Everything I said is true!” the Cursed Minion hastily defended itself. ”My master used to be the Demon Tiger guarding this Thousand Locust Array. Later, he was killed by the people from the Demon-slaying Bureau. I luckily survived, becoming a wandering ghost, and then I was caught by a Demon Cultivator...”

”Even if what you’re saying is true, my Cultivation is only at the Seventh Grade. I probably wouldn’t be able to retrieve the Pill anyway,” Lu Yuan said with a smile, continuing to bait it.

”You can report it to the experts at the Demon Suppression Bureau! They’ll definitely reward you once they get it!” the Cursed Minion suggested.

Hearing this, Lu Yuan concluded that the information was mostly true. Of course, he had no intention of reporting it to the Demon Suppression Bureau.

”How do I send you into the cycle of reincarnation?”

”When it gets dark! Just release me after dark!” the Cursed Minion said quickly, pleasantly surprised.

”Heh.” Lu Yuan chuckled, reaching a finger toward the mouth of the Jade Bottle.

CRACK!

A flash of lightning sparked and shot inside.

”Ah! You broke your promise!” the Cursed Minion shrieked. In the blink of an eye, it was reduced to ashes.

”Why would I keep a promise to a ghost?” Lu Yuan sneered.

The words of ghostly entities couldn’t be trusted. While there might be some grains of truth, the vast majority were lies. Furthermore, a Cursed Minion was never anything good. He stored the Jade Bottle in his Storage Space and then looked toward the others.

By now, the group’s battle had ended, and they were clearing the battlefield. These bandits might not have had many Pills and resources individually, but their sheer numbers meant quite a lot could still be collected. Combined with the other items, scraping together a few thousand taels of silver wouldn’t be a problem.

Lu Yuan didn’t take a single thing, letting the others divide the spoils among themselves. As for the aftermath, they could just leave it to the people from the town or the county to handle.

Lu Yuan and the others prepared to leave.

SCREECH!

Right at that moment, a bird’s cry suddenly echoed overhead as a massive shadow swept past. Lu Yuan and the rest looked up to see an enormous bird with a wingspan of dozens of feet circling in the sky. It was absolutely massive.

”A Demon Bird!”

”A Demon Bird!”

”There’s someone on top of it!” Jiang Hongfei, Liu Zhi, and the others exclaimed in shock.

Judging by its size, it was at least at the Seventh Grade. And with someone riding it, it was obvious they hadn’t come with good intentions.

”You guys go first!” Lu Yuan said, looking at the four of them.

”What about you...?” Su Wan looked at him with worry.

”If I’m alone, I can leave whenever I want. If you stay, you’ll only be a burden,” Lu Yuan replied.

”Haha, as expected of Lu Yuan! So confident and daring!” A burst of loud laughter rang out from the sky. It was hard to tell if it was praise or mockery as the giant bird circled once and began to descend.

”Hurry and go!” Lu Yuan ordered one last time. If they didn’t listen and he couldn’t protect them from the impending danger, they couldn’t blame him.

”Let’s go!”

SWISH! SWISH!

Jiang Hongfei, Liu Zhi, Chen Qian, and Su Wan quickly departed.

The newcomer didn’t try to stop them, merely watching the four leave. His only target was Lu Yuan.

THUD!

The flying creature finally landed. However, it wasn’t a Demon Bird, but rather a Puppet Mechanism Beast. The lifelike mechanical creature was truly extraordinary—a masterpiece of the Human Weapon Sect.

”Are you Mr. Sixth?” Lu Yuan asked.

”Yes, that’s right. It seems your father has told you about me.” Mr. Sixth, a man in his thirties or forties dressed in a grayish-white scholar’s robe, leaped down from the bird’s back. ”I wasn’t fully prepared last time, so I let him escape. You won’t be so lucky today.”

”Is that so? My strength is nothing to scoff at. You should be well aware of my battle record, right?” Lu Yuan asked.

”I am. We understand it very clearly. But running into me is just your bad luck. In front of my puppets, you won’t be able to display any of that strength.” Mr. Sixth slapped the mechanical bird’s chest.

CLICK!

A compartment door opened on it, and then...

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Two objects sprang out from inside and stood up. Both were humanoid mechanical puppets. One of them was carved with runes and held a Profound Weapon in its hand. The other was a standard puppet, similar to the one used by Mr. Ninth, though it looked much sturdier and more agile.

At the same time...

CLACK! CLACK!

The mechanical bird began to transform, rapidly shifting into a giant, rune-covered humanoid puppet over ten feet tall, sporting eight spear-like spider legs on its back.

”Do you think these three puppets of mine can kill you?”

”Not enough! They can’t!” Lu Yuan shook his head.

”Heh, how confident. You’ll know once you try them out!” Mr. Sixth took two steps back. ”Attack!”

SWISH!

The slender, rune-covered humanoid puppet erupted with a brilliant cyan light. With a flash, it appeared right in front of Lu Yuan and swung its blade at him.

WHOOSH!

Lu Yuan shifted his feet slightly and dodged the strike.

WHOOSH!

The rune-less puppet also charged toward Lu Yuan. It rushed in a straight line, completely disregarding any form of self-preservation. It didn’t launch an attack; it was strictly in a ramming mode. Its sole purpose was to intercept and obstruct, creating opportunities for the other puppets.

”Heh.” Lu Yuan met it head-on, throwing a powerful punch.

BANG!

The puppet was sent flying, but Lu Yuan’s momentum was hindered in the process.

Right then, both the runic humanoid puppet and the giant puppet rushed over, their elemental lights shining brightly as they launched a barrage of ferocious attacks at Lu Yuan. The runic puppet wielded its blade like a peerless swordsman. The giant puppet relied on pure brute force, its fists larger than a human head, with its eight spider-leg spears poised to strike.

”It is your honor to die by the hands of my three puppets,” Mr. Sixth sneered. His three puppets had been meticulously designed to cover all bases: attacking, restraining, dealing lethal blows, speed, strength, and defense. But most importantly, none of the three puppets feared incoming attacks or injuries. It was a flawless killing formation!

CRACK!

Lightning flashed beneath Lu Yuan’s feet as he dashed out of the two puppets’ pincer attack.

”Seal the formation!” Mr. Sixth coldly snorted.

HUM!

The giant puppet glowed with a dazzling yellow light, drawing in the surrounding earth’s elemental energy before rapidly forming an array. A gravity array!

”Did you see that? This is the true way to use puppets! A single puppet can form an array! This is something the human body can never match!” Mr. Liuu laughed proudly.

With just this one puppet, he could sweep through all Seventh-Grade Martial Artists. He could even put up a fight against a Sixth-Grade Martial Artist. Not to mention, he still had his other two puppets.

”Slapped together forcefully without a single ounce of creativity!” Lu Yuan mocked.

”What? You dare say they are slapped together without creativity?” Mr. Sixth’s pride was stung, and he flew into a raging fury. ”Let’s see how I smash your damn head in! Kill!”

The two humanoid puppets charged at Lu Yuan simultaneously. The array created by the giant puppet exerted a hundred times the normal gravity. Lu Yuan was suddenly subjected to the immense crushing weight, yet the two puppets were completely unaffected. They both had built-in anti-gravity mechanisms...

”Bring it on!” Lu Yuan channeled the Cyan Dragon Technique, and his entire body erupted with a brilliant cyan light...
