The Young Master in the Shadows

Chapter 547 : Live commentary Tournament (4) : Too Many Eunuchs

“I will take care of this bastard!” Before anyone could make up their minds, a young man in silver armor howled angrily, then jumped from the von Weise balcony, landing a second later to come face to face with Alex, who just wanted to end this quickly, fearing that the commentator might reveal something about her real gender!

“ZACK VON WEISE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS KNIGHT-CLASSED PLAYER FROM THE VON WEISE FAMILY COULD TAKE IT NO LONGER THAT SOMEONE CASTRATED A MEMBER OF THEIR FAMILY AND DECIDED TO TAKE REVENGE WITH HIS OWN HAND!” the commentator said.

Hearing him, Zack smirked as he brandished a lance a bit longer than Alex’s own. “Those who dare to harm a Von Weise family member will pay the price!” he said, as he turned to look up toward the Balcony, wanting to show the Matriarch Ann and his cousins that he was dependable. He didnʼt care about Max... He just wanted to prove himself!

“HOOOOOOOOO! GO ZACK!” Some von Weise family members really began to cheer for him, while others like Mike totally disregarded him and looked worriedly toward Max, who was still being healed. Why was it taking that long?

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH….”

A scream of pain made Mike and Theodore, who was also preoccupied with his sonʼs injury, turn to look at the Arena, where Zack was on his knees in a position not that dissimilar to that of Max before him! Not exactly the same…. As he wore metal armor, the huge puncture hole visible on the other side due to Zack’s position was now clear for everyone to assess the damage underneath!

“AND ANOTHER ENUNICH WAS BORN! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... THATʼS HOW IT IS DONE!” the commentator shouted, making those who didnʼt see it clearly quickly realize what had just happened. “WHAT AN IDIOT… ONCE HE ENTERED THE ARENA, THE BATTLE WOULD BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE STARTED; WHY DID HE HAVE TO LOOK UP AND GIVE ALEX A CHANCE TO AIM? IS HE RETARTED OR SOMETHING… AS SOMEONE WITH LEVEL 14, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL FACING A LEVEL 140 PLAYER!” it explained.

“HSsssssssssss…”

“What? Did I hear that right? Alex is level 140?”

“Is this real? He didn’t show anything flashy last round!”

“True…. why did he struggle with that Max guy…”

“Unless…”

”Hsssssssssssss....... Thatʼs nasty!”

“Wow… It was definitely on purpose… He didn’t want Max to surrender quickly, aiming to maim him using one well-aimed strike!”

“And well aimed it was!”

“Damn… No wonder the commentator called it foul play!”

“Absolutely no manners!”

”M master.... Stop... It is not the right time... A man just got castrated...”

“This Alex guy is not to be underestimated!”

****

“I… I surrender…” Zack screamed, vanishing a moment later.

“AND ZACK IS GONE TO GET HIS LITTLE BROTHER REATTACHED…. THAT WAS REFRESHING!” the commentator said, but no one shared his feelings, not even Ruby, who was looking at Victor strangely. “NOW… WHO IS GOING TO GET CASTRATED… I MEAN DEFEATED NEXT?”

60… 59… 58…

Watching the timer tick, no one answered.

Realizing that Alex was at least a level 140 player, no one dared come down. Most of those with moderately high levels amongst the participants were seeded players, waiting for the second round! And the few strong ones who still needed to position were not going to risk it… There were still many empty slots, so it was better not to fight this castration maniac!

***

”Not bad...” Lily nodded, watching the show.

”Are you approving of his actions?” Malcom couldnʼt help but ask.

”I am just appreciating a good fight...”

”What good fight... the guy struck him from the back...”

”It is a matter of taste...”

”....”

***

“Kili…”

“I know... We will get him in the second round… He will surely be there!”

On one balcony, the two girls said to each other.

***

“Bastard…” Sebastian spat, looking dangerously at Alex.

“Big brother…. I don’t feel good anymore…” one guy from the sect who volunteered earlier to go down but Zack beat him to it, suddenly said.

“No need to fight him; I will do it myself later…” Sebastian sighed, looking at his Master, who nodded approvingly. One should always care for the safety of their younger disciple brotherʼs genitalia!

Anyway, hearing him, the younger brother sighed in relief. He was still young and didn’t want to lose his manhood! Damn it... Internet had just been connected to their sects, and he had a lot of things to ʼExploreʼ.

***

“Grandma…”

“No need, the Fire Temple would take care of that guy…”

“Understood…”

***

“Family head…” A von Weise heir turned and looked at Ann. He was one of the strongest non-seeded players and was ordered to jump down, but Zack was a step ahead of him. Now, he was feeling lucky, but was a bit worried that Ann might order him to go take revenge or something...

“There is no longer any need… It is not worth it!” Ann sighed.

Theodore sighed, hearing her, then he turned toward Max, who didn’t finish healing yet. “Why is it taking so long?” he asked as Zack appeared on the balcony.

“Master, some strange kind of bizarre energy seemed to have seeped into the wounds, making my efforts fail… I am sorry; this is taking too much time, and I need to go check on Zack…” the healer said, feeling a bit nervous. Max was an elder’s son after all, while Zack was just a youth from the branch family.

“Is Maxʼs situation stable…”

“He should be for now… We will need to bandage him later and transfer him to the Clanʼs main hospital after this is over!”

“Then do what you want…” Theodore sighed. Even if Max were to become a eunuch, it didn’t matter; he had enough offspring to guarantee a dozen or more grandsons in the future!

***

“NO ONE? ” as the countdown continued, the commentator asked. “COME ON GUYS, WE NEED MORE EUNICHS TO BE BORN TODAY!” it said as if forecasting some very strange events that were still to come.

5… 4… 3…

Watching it go down, Alex crossed her fingers. Is it finally going to be over?

“I will take him!” someone jumped from high above, from a place no one expected. The Player’s Council’s balcony.

BAM!

His feet touched the ground, throwing a cloud of dust that subsided a moment later to reveal a bronze-skinned young man with a healthy complexion and well-proportioned, tight muscles. He looked more like a fisherman than a fighter, but the look in his eyes was everything but that of a simple guy. And that spear in his hand… Why did it have so many barbs?

“Alex… Don’t hold back! This one is the real deal!” Victor’s voice rang in Alex’s head almost immediately. He had never seen or heard of this guy before, but his stats were not something to scoff at!

Reading this for a second time, Victor quickly noticed a few things. First… This was an upgraded system… Second, the titles… This guy was not only a between-worlds traveler, but might also be Alex’s worst enemy!

Also… That the fuck was an Ortix? Victor had no idea, but he knew he had to start commenting soon…

***

“AND A CHALLENGER ARRIVES WORKING FOR THE PLAYER COUNCIL ITSELF!” the commenter quickly said as Alex nervously prepared her spear. For some reason, her new adversary really felt dangerous… “LEOPARD ORTIXBLEACHER LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IS A VISITOR FROM ANOTHER WORLD…”

“Hssssssssss….”

“What?”

“Another world?”

“That commenter…. Does it know something about our plan?” On the players’ council’s balcony, a burly man who didn’t look too dissimilar from Leopard, standing in front of 5 burly youths, turned and asked the man sitting at the high chair.

“...” The man didn’t answer as he pondered for a moment. He was really not sure if this was one of that bitch’s cards or if someone was pulling a prank…. “It doesn’t matter…”

“This better not ruin our deal!”

“Don’t worry… I only sent your kid down to test the waters; Alex might be an ally!”

****

“From another world?” Mona, on the Vip Balcony, asked as she operated her system screen to find any relevant info.

LEVEL: 167

Nothing strange here… Expert one… What the hell is an Ortics? “Do you have any idea about that one?” she asked, turning to Lily, Harper, then Malcolm.

Lily shook her head; so did Harper.

“It is pronounced as Ortix, not Ortics…. It is like the end of Loch…or Bach…,” Malcolm said with a frown.

“What?” Mona asked.

“I said it is pronounced with a kinda ch sound, not ics…”

“I heard you… Other than its name, what do you know about this Ort…Something…. I am not going to even bother pronouncing its name!” Mona said.

“Well, not a lot… Another worldly ambassador whom her Lordship ordered me to humor back in the day mentioned it to me over a drink… It is a kind avian creature that gets traded between worlds. According to what I remember, it seemed to be farmed in lower worlds only, as it requires very harsh condtions, and it has some nasty habbits that no one wanted to deal with…

“So this guy might really be from another world!” Zoe frowned. This world was getting stranger by the minute…. First she was shocked by the existence of the System and players… Next there was this mess with other timelines; now other worlds! What’s next, a bunch of evil gods who want to destroy the world?

“That’s how it seems… No Ortix in this world to hunt, so that class can never appear here!” Malcolm nodded.

“Why did that guy mention that specific creature to you over a drink…” noticing Malcolm’s strange expression, Harper asked coldly out of nowhere. Guys rarely discussed boring facts over drinks, unless there was something dirty about them!

“Ehm...” Malcolm hesitated. “Well… If hunted in a specific way…. Its feathers can be sold for a lot of money...” Malcolm scratched his head. “Think of it like a peacock of sorts… That’s all I know! As I said, I have never seen the damn thing! That guy was just challenging me to a drinking game, and he won!” Malcolm quickly wrapped this up. He didn’t want to appear like a pervert in front of Lily.

“What specific way?” Lily asked for details. She didn’t want them, but Victor did.

“Ah…” Malcolm didn’t want to talk, but since Lily was the one asking. “Look, that’s what he said…. He mentioned that the method is… Excuse my words… sexual… They needed to… Ehm… Arouse it to make it spread its tail before slaying it…. And according to him, it has to be done…. Actively….”

“Eh…”

“Oh…”

“Yuck…”

“Euuuuu…”

The girls were all grossed out hearing him; they were not stupid and could slowly fill in the blanks! Well, except for Solara, that was… She was still a virgin, and due to her very strict upbringing, she had never come in contact with such vulgarities… Still, years of private old-fashioned schooling had long taught her not to ask unnecessary questions!.

****

“So some insects managed to sneak in!” on the Heavenly Sect’s balcony, Silver, the Patriarch, said, squinting his eyes.

“Someone must have helped… but it doesn’t matter… Another Minor player would never be able to change the table at this endgame!” A snake-eyed man to his side said. He was Harper’s master, who had been searching for her ever since coming here, but for some reason couldn’t find her… or him… His discipleʼs soul was already fully integrated into her! That’s what he thought anyway.

“One can never know…” Serina said, hearing them. In the past, she thought like them that everything was under control, but after meeting with Victor and knowing about his master, she had long realized that the pond was far muddier than any of them would have expected. If her guess was correct, that bitch Queeval might have used some time manipulation artifact to plant some seeds, and if that was true, then all of their info that was gathered using the Destiny Lake ritual would be useless! Damn it… The next opening would not happen for another 20 years… If anything unexpected were to happen in this period, they would be losing everything they worked for! The Southern duke would definitely punish them heavily!

***

As the spectator pondered the commentator’s words, on stage, the two opponents didnʼt immediately start to fight.

“Aren’t you going to strike at me as you did with that Zack?” Leopard asked as he began walking in circles around Alex with his Spear pointed sideways as if staking a prey. The way Alex backed away from him reminded him of Female Ortix he was trained to ‘handle’ since youth!

“Be careful what you wish for!” Alex spat as she stepped away. For some reason, the way this young man looked at her made her feel uncomfortable.

“I wish for you to scream like a bitch under my spear!”

“Eh…” Alex paused. Could it be that he knew her secret… Damn it, that last sentence could be interrupted in many ways!

“WHAT… WHAT IS GOING ON? IS LEOPARD INTERESTED IN ALEX THAT WAY? COULD IT BE THAT WE ARE GOING TO WATCH A LIVE SEX SCENE IN THE ARENA? IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING, PEOPLE? IS LEOPARD GOING TO SHOW US HOW ORTIX COUTING IS DONE IN THE WILD?”

“... I mean, I will kill you!” Leopard, realizing his mistake, quickly corrected himself. Damn that cheap translator… That stupid merchant did warn him to keep his sentences clear and concise. And what with that stupid commentator? Who would do an Ortix in the wild?! It had to be done in an inn… And the Ortix had to be a female, unlike his ugly opponent! “Let’s end this…” he finally said as he twirled his spear in a strange way as he started walking toward Alex.

The latter, as if prepared, quickly took a fighting stance, then thrust his spear and…

PAM!

Leopard parried, then twirled his spear and struck…

PAM! PAM!

Alex defended perfectly, then used the chance to attack…

PAM! PAM PAM!

A battle ensued between the two; it was not a Noob fight at all this one, but a real fight… One where each of the contestants was clearly showing their full strength, as each strike created a dust cloud, showing the prowess behind it!

“LOOK, PEOPLE, THIS IS WHAT TWO PLAYERS OVER THE LEVEL OF 100 CAN DO… WHAT FOOLS THOSE VON WEISE GUYS WERE, THINKING THEY CAN OVERPOWER ALEX WITH THEIR MEASLY LEVELS!”

***’

“DAMN THAT COMMENTATOR!” Both Zack and Max, who were being bandaged in a very specific yet humiliating way, cursed at the same time. If he were to reveal Alex’s level a bit earlier, they would not have had to suffer!

Their family members shared their feelings, but no one dared to curse at the commentator...

***

In the arena, the battle continued, yet slowly but surely one of them was about to win!

PAM PAM PAM…

After another round of strokes, Alex was being pushed back again. Despite her strength and complex thunder-infused spear technique she was employing, that Leopard out-leveled her, and for some reason, she could feel that her powers were only displaying about 80% of their full power against this guy!

“Young master…. I can’t continue like this… Allow me to use my flame power…” she whispered. Victor had strictly forbidden her to reveal her Fire, telling her that it might attract unwanted attention. And to tell the truth, she felt that this was true, but at the moment, she could tell that her defeat was only a matter of time.

“No need…. I am just searching for the right timing! Just wait for my signal, then go for his crotch… Be sure to use your full power though, this guy has some nasty Iron Rod Skill that I don’t know its effect…” Victor replied.

“Iron…” Alex swallowed as she involuntarily looked at the guy’s crotch. It was bulging for some reason… Well, at least it made aiming easier!

“WOW JUST WOW… I CAN FEEL IT, PEOPLE… LOOK AT THOSE PHOENIX-LIKE EYES… ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT APPARENT, I CAN FEEL IT IN THE AIR…. ALEX IS GOING FOR THE WIN….”

“What…” Leopard was not sure what the commentator meant, but he learnt what it was a moment later when …

POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF....

“KYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa………..” A familiar yet different scream rang in the arena as a blood began to pool underneath poor Leopard.

An obvious thrust from Alex’s spear that should have been easily deflected had just gone past Leopard, reaching his crotch. It went through the strange leather armor and reached the other side. As if holding a grudge against all men, Alex used her full strength, deploying a Rotating Lance technique to blow everything down there up into shredded remains!

“Hssss….”

“Ouch….”

“Yaaa…”

Except for a few indolent expressions of sympathetic pain, The Audience went silent. They were not that surprised anymore.

“AND ANOTHER EUNUCH WAS CREATED! ARE WE GOING TO SET A RECORD TODAY, PEOPLE OR WHAT?”

The commentator said as Leopard, who howled in pain, shot Alex a glare, then, as if making up his mind, prepared to attack again.

“Withdraw!” a familiar voice whispered in his ear.

Involuntarily, he gritted his teeth, not willing to let go, but knowing his master knew best, he decided to obey. He glared at Alex one more time, then spat the blood in his mouth onto the arena’s floor before clicking the surrender button on the system screen.

“AND ALEX WINS AGAIN! WHAT A SHOW OF WO… MANLIHOOD… WHAT A SHOW OF ABSOLUTE UNCHIVALROUSLY!”

***

“What does he mean unchivalrously…. Young master Alex is the uptown of Justice!”

“YES!”

***

“You noticed… That last strike really contained a trace of her lordshipʼs energy… As someone who received her blessing, I can tell!”

“Yes… This bastard must be one of that bitch’s experiments!”

***

“Master…Why did you pull me back…?” Leopard, who returned to the Balcony, knelt and asked as a bald healer ran to his side.

“I can’t lose you now… That guy has some kind of Illusion power…. And you were only meant to test him… Were you satisfied?” Leopard’s master, the burly guy, turned to the youth who sat at the high chair and asked. “Midnight… Donʼt forget our pact...”

“Use HONORIFICS when talking to His Eminence!” one guy in a business suit who stood near the high chair quickly spat angrily upon hearing him.

“It’s ok,” Midnight responded dismissively, not seeming to be angry at all. “With that kind of cruelty, Alex is 99% the Twilight Demon, as I suspected! Like that Dawn bastard, he must have also used a spark to sneak to this timeline, and the one he chose was that of Old Hag Azil…”
