The Young Master in the Shadows

Chapter 532: Chaos at the BloodFlint Family estate!

“Master Victor, it is a pleasure to have you here,” a very old man stood with difficulty and greeted as he watched Fars, Theta’s father, guide Victor, or rather the disguised Alpha and Theta behind her, into a highly decorated reception room. It was a long rectangular room featuring two rows of chairs on each side, all leading toward a slight step where a few gilded seats were placed.

The hall was not filled, but it had about 20 people, amongst them were the old man, the Bloodflint’s family patriarch, his wife, Roberta, who sat in the head seats, and a few other elders from the Bloodflint family who sat to the sides. Theta’s stepmother, Jena, was also there, sitting at an empty corner of the room like a bullied daughter-in-law. The old man clearly scolded her.

Wait, there was someone else, right beside that woman, a boy no older than 15, sitting, shooting poisonous glares at Theta… He was clenching his hands so hard that they became blue.

“Nice to meet you, too, master Edgar. Robin told me a lot about you,” Alpha, acting as if she didn’t care about the boy, said as he hurried toward the old man and shook his hand, then helped him return to his seat like a polite youth.

“Young master, please, take a seat,” Edgar said, pointing to a seat right beside him.

Alpha nodded, then quickly relaxed in his seat, pulling Theta to sit on her lap. The latter shot her an angry glare, then turned to look at the boy at the other side of the hall, shooting him a smirk as she squeezed her hands hard. This boy was her half-brother and was the one who bullied her most in the past.

The boy almost jumped from his seat as he watched her provoke him, but his mother grabbed him.

Edgar, who watched all this, said nothing, just clearing his throat as Fars hurried to take his seat on the other side. “Young master Victor, I was a bit surprised by your message at first. I had no idea you were an acquaintance of our Robin…” he said with a fake smile. He really had no idea; if he did, he would have long sent a dowry to Vein city.

“We met by chance… Destiny, I call it,” Alpha replied as he brushed Theta’s hair with her hand like a pervert. She couldn’t replicate the way Victor made depraved acts seem completely natural, but she was trying her best.

“I see… “

“...”

“...”

“Let’s not play around, master Edgar. I am here for only one reason: I wish to marry your granddaughter and let her join my harem!” Alpha said flatly after a brief silence.

“That would be…?” The old man smiled as he quickly began to reply.

“That’s not all!” Victor interrupted. “I also want her to keep her position in the family hierarchy,”

“Young master!” Robert intervened. “In our traditions, once a woman is married, she becomes a member of her husband’s family.” What Victor was asking for was the thing she feared most.

Edgar said nothing. Their clan’s inheritance rights follow what was called. Absolute Primogeniture, meaning the eldest in a line was the one with the right to be the next patriarch. Edgar’s successor was naturally Fars, and after that it was some stupid guy who lost his life on that plane with his brothers and a dozen of his cousins… So now, if Fars were to manage to succeed him, the next in line would be Robin.

He was not against the idea of allowing her to take that position, but the pretext for that was that she should keep the family name.

“You understood me wrong, I don’t want my little Robin to bother with such stuff, what I mean is that the title would naturally pass to her eldest son or daughter, who I don’t mind holding your last name,” Victor said, making Theta freeze for a moment, then pinch ‘his’ thigh very hard.

“...” Roberta froze, hearing him. Her worst nightmares were happening! Damn it!

“Oh…. would your family be ok with that?” Fars, who sat to the side, asked, shooting his teenage son a sorry look before turning back to Victor. He didnʼt like this proposal, but didnʼt hate it per se. If the familyʼs new leader were to also belong to the Von Weise family, he might be able to bring the clan to new heights… Unlike his wife, who only knew shallow things, he knew the truth about this world. His clan only had 4 players at the moment who were occupying older positions! Those four awakened long ago thanks to a deal with the von Richter family, but ever since that family was destroyed, they lost their chance to make new ones!

“Why not… It is not the first time this has happened; the Von Zwei family did it in the past with the Von Rosen,” Alpha said. She knew a lot about those things.

“Oh…” Edgar, who was also considering the offer, nodded. He remembered hearing something like that in his youth. “What if I were not to agree?” he asked. He was tempted, but even for him, such a condition was too much.

“Robin will have nothing to do with you!” Alpha said. She was not going to let Theta get bullied by her corrupt family ever again, and neither would I!

Hearing him, all the elders frowned. The only one whose face brightened up was Jena and her boy, who, for the first time, thought there might be hope!

“...”

“...”

“Well, I… I will need a few days to think about this…” Edgar hesitated for a moment, then said. He needed to ask the hidden old foggies of his family before he could decide on this.

“I will be in town for three days,” Alpha said. “I will be awaiting your….”

“STOP!”

“HEY…”

“You can’t go there…”

“I have a warrant…”

“But…”

Suddenly, there was a ruckus outside, and before Edgar could ask, the door was kicked open.

BOOM!

Under everyone’s shocked gaze, a police officer walked into the hall.

“What is the meaning of this?” Fars asked in surprise. Since when did the police dare to break into the Bloodflint family grounds? Although they were not one of the old Oligarchs, their family was still a Player family, and they were above the mortal law!

“We had just been informed that there is a deal involving minor prostitution here…” the officer said arrogantly, looking at ‘Victor’ and Theta, then disregarding them and glaring at the old patriarch with a hidden murderous glint in his eyes. “I will need to see some IDs!”

Hearing him, Edgar and Fars both dropped their jaws. This was redueculace…. “Are you perhaps new in town?” Edgar asked as he raised one eyebrow.

“I am originally from here, but had to go for a while and just returned… “ he paused. “Feel free to call me Officer Gordan… Now, I really need to see some IDs, or I will arrest you all!” he said in a playful tone just as another police officer, a fat one who sweated like a pig, came running from outside.

“Gordan! You can’t barge like that… “ he whispered nervously before finally noticing the old man Edgar. “Master Edgar… this guy is new, he just transferred here last week and is yet to learn the rules… We just got an anonymous report about this place, and he darted off like an idiot… Gordon, quickly bow down and apologize to master Edgar!”

“Pat, you are my partner and everything, but to tell the truth, I am disappointed… You really have no balls…” Gordan put his hand on the fat cop’s shoulder and said. “Grow some, body, or you will miss a lot of things in the future…”

“GROW YOUR DAMN MOTHER!” Pat couldn’t take it anymore. If master Edgar were to get angry, their entire department might end up under the ocean!

“Pat… You shouldn’t have insulted my mother…” Gordon sighed, “I….”

“Officer Pat, I don’t have time for this!” Edgar interrupted. He didn’t know what this was about, but with Victor here, he wanted to end this quickly. “MEN, escort the officers out!!” he ordered.

“...”

“...”

“MEN! COME…”

“...”

“...”

“Sorry to tell you, your guys outside have already been knocked out!” Gordan said, pulling a bloodied baton from his belt, then…

PAM!

He hit the back of Pat’s head, making him collapse to the ground. “You shouldn’t have insulted my mother, Pat! But don’t worry, when you wake up, you will remember nothing of this!” he said as he looked back at Edgar. “Now are you going to cooperate and show me some ID’s or are you going to have me do it for you??” he asked with a smirk as he patted his palm with his baton.

Everyone had the same idea. This guy was clearly here for trouble!

But trouble with playersʼ families usually ended up fatal. Was he in his right mind? What the fuck was fucking wrong with him?

Even Alpha was at a loss, not knowing what was going on, suspecting for a second there that this might be a trap by the Bloodflint family! Wait… Remembering Theta’s luck Victor always spoke of, she suspected something. Could this have something to do with that?

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the authorʼs work.

Everyone was full of questions, and it was not until Edgar, who seemed to recall something and spoke, that everything became clearer.

“Wait… You are… That boy from the BlackRiver family isnʼt you! I almost didn’t recognise you!” he suddenly said, making everyone pause and frown as they looked at Gordon. The BlackRiver family was a distinguished player family from the past. It didn’t reach the bloodflint family power, but was still a player family. It was not until their player patriarch died in a dungeon that a coalition of three families carved them up to steal the treasures hidden in their vault!

“...” Gordon’s smirk vanished almost immediately, hearing the old man. “I am not surprised you remembered the boy who used to call you uncle… Well, since you did, letʼs drop the act…”

BANG!

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhh….”

Almost immediately, Gordon seemed to have moved in a split second toward the one elder who sat to the side, hitting him in the back with his baton.

“Get him!” Edgar shouted as he pulled a strange Talsiman and activated it. Yup, he was also a player, a fact that not even his son knew!

Anyways, he expected the room to immediately dim as the protection Array around the mansion activated, but nothing happened.

Well… it was exactly nothing as the elders jumped in an attempt to subdue Gordon, who fought back with ease… It was chaos!

BANG

BAM

BOOM

BANG

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….”

“No!”

“How….”

“Careful… Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa….”

It was like watching some poorly choreographed martial arts movie, each elder was down with one hit as Gordan moved between all 30 people who jumped him, ‘neutralizing’ them one by one using his bloody baton that seemed to disperse some kind of black smoke. It was clear now, he was a player, and this weapon in his hand was some kind of artifact!

In less than one minute, everyone found themselves on the ground, including Theta’s little brother, who tried to sneak-attack him from the back and ended up getting a few teeth knocked out of his mouth as he hit the ground. When he woke up later, he would really regret making that phone call to report his half-sister, but that was for later.

Finally, Gordon found himself reaching the end of the room where Fars, Roberta Edgar, Alpha, and Theta stood warily.

“Once our supreme ancestor hears of this, you will be dead!” Roberta screamed at him. The ancestor was a level 200 player who lived for a long time.

Gordan ignored her as he looked at Edgar. “No, he will be the one who dies… I just want to teach him the pain of losing his entire clan before killing them… I will leave no one, just as you did with my clan long ago!“ he said as he prepared for the old man to attack him.

“Your old man was a piece of shit! He was intending to use a Demonic ritual to become a player… He was the one killed who was secretly sacrificing your clan’s people in an attempt to purify his bloodline. When we arrived, he forced everyone to die, hastening the ritual… When we entered the mansion, he was the only one standing there after he was completely demonified… We lost 3 players in the battle to eradicate him! Edgar said as he pulled a large mace out of thin air.

“LIES! My father was not that kind of man!” Gordon hissed angrily as he attacked the old man, forcing him to take a step back as he parried.

“Believe it or not, this is the truth!” Edgar replied coldly as he realized that Gordan’s level was higher than his.

“...Then why did you dig up my familyʼs ancestral grounds after that? Were you also searching for demons?” Gordon said as he attacked again.

“That never happened!” Edgar, who used a talisman to erect a defensive shield around him at the nick of time, replied as he was forced back by the attack, the shield dimmed almost immediately.

“That’s not what Young master Kiran told me!” Gordan said as he struck again, making the shield break. “Your family was the first to try for my clan’s vault, that’s why I came for you first… You have something that I need!”

BANG!

The old man was thrown to the ground by the shock, but he didn’t seem to be injured.

“Wait…. How… You met Kiran?” It was Fars who asked in shock. Kiran was his eldest son, who was raised to be the family heir and naturally knew a lot of their secrets. Sadly, he died in that plan Orgy.

“Yeah, on that plane… He begged me to spare him as he revealed all your secrets, including the info about all the players in the family and the setup of the arrays around the mansion!” Gordon said as he walked toward the old man.

“You… You were the one who brought down that plane?” Edgar asked as if he realized something.

“Yup… I was also the one who did it… what you heard in the black box recording, and thought were girlsʼ moans were in fact the sound of your family heirs being raped by pigs…. Pigs who were so fat that they forced the plane to nose-dive down into the ocean! I was even the one who leaked the recording… I really enjoyed watching your familyʼs reputation reach rock bottom in the last year! Once you guys are gone, I will release the movie I shot then online and let the world remember you in that way forever!”

“YOU!….” Fars gasped in shock, and so did Roberta as they remembered that recording. They always felt the moaning voices in the recordings were a bit rough, but they didn’t care about how their offspring treated some prostitutes, and never gave it another thought… Who would have believed that….

BANG!

Using the chance when Fars was in shock, Gordon hit him in the stomach, making him fall to the ground unconscious. ”I was also the one who had been stealing your family business lately!” he shuddered as he kicked the Farsʼs body.

“Dad!” Theta, who despite holding a grudge against her father couldn’t watch and say nothing, yelled.

“Oh… You are this guyʼs daughter…. Donʼt worry, along with all the bloodflint girls, I will make sure to let you live a long life with some pastry!” he said with a hateful voice. “I will also record it and…”

FSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST

Before Gordan could finish, he was interrupted by Alpha, who drew a sword out of thin air and swung it at him, forcing him to parry with his baton at the nick of time as he was forced back.

She couldn’t let him really harm Theta.

“You are some real sick piece of shit!” Alpha couldnʼt help but say.

“Man can develop some strange hobbies when his entire family gets annihilated!” Gordan didn’t seem to be fazed as he answered. “You are not from this family, arenʼt you?” he asked.

“Victor White… “ Alpha said as she felt her hand hurt from attacking him right now. He clearly had more power than she. One must remember that most of her powers as a lord were still sealed by Victor, only allowing her to use her normal Player powers. But still, even with those, she was not weak at all, so it was a surprise to her how strong this Gordon guy was!

“A von Weise! Impressive!” Gordan said, quickly figuring out Victor’s real background. “You can leave… I have no grudge against you guys!” he said. “If you don’t, I will make sure no one will hear of you ever again!”

“...” Alpha hesitated as Theta grabbed her robes and bit her lips.

“Master Victor, please leave this place with Robin! From now on, she has nothing to do with us,” Edgar, who realized that this Gordon guy might have come prepared, said.

“Master Edgar!” Alpha frowned.

“Grandpa…” Theta bit her lip. She didn’t expect the old man to care for her.

“Sorry to interrupt you. Who said that piglet can leave?” Gordon said. “Everyone who has the Bloodflint family blood is going to pay!”

“...”

“I…” Alpha seemed to want to say something, but a moment later, she felt the power that had long been sealed away return to her, and then she heard Victor’s voice reverberate in her mind.

I JUST REALISED YOUR LORD POWER,

THIS GUY IS A SCION, HIS CLASS IS BLOOD COLLECTOR, HIS LEVEL IS 119, AND HAS A 1% PHOENIX BLOODLINE… ALTHOUGH IT WILL BE A TOUGH BATTLE, FOR YOU IT WILL BE EASY…

MAKE HIM REGRET HAVING BAD THOUGHTS ABOUT MY LITTLE ROBIN!

“...” Alpha almost cursed out loudly. Was he going to make her fight a scion? Well… She really wanted to try! And this guy really deserved a beating!

Feeling the air change around ‘Victor’ Gordan took a step back, but before he could, she was right next to him, hitting him with her fist.

He quickly parried with his baton!

BANG!

The baton was broken almost immediately.

“How!” He was shocked as he stepped back, barely stumbling with his feet, which allowed him to dodge Alpha’s strike that brushed his face by accident.

He felt his face sting as he stepped away in a hurry, then made a donkey flip to dodge again, then struck at Victor’s crotch with his leg. In real fights, no one cared for Honor amongst men.

He expected Victor to come to his knees, but... “Ahhhhhhhhhhh….” Gordan wailed in pain as his calf’s bone broke while Victor stood there as if he was not affected.

“My balls are not something someone like you can harm!” Alpha said, blushing as she repeated the words Victor told her to say! Then she attacked again.

BANG..

BANG…

BANG..

Edgar couldn’t help but watch in shock as the guy who easily overpowered him was forced to retreat under Victor’s hands. Heirs of the old Oligarchs were really something else!

With a broken leg, Gordan was at a clear disadvantage, forcing him to use a strange escape art that made him a bit illusionary as he dodged. But still, such a technique is not something he could utilize a lot!

He had to attack.

BOOOM!

Waiting for a chance when Alpha was right beside him, he suddenly opened his mouth, and from it a fire arrow was launched, hitting Victor straight in the face.

BOOM!

What followed was Alpha’s fist hitting him straight in the jaw.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhh….” Gordan wailed in pain as he was pushed into a nearby wall. Not only was his nose broken, but his entire face seemed to have been pushed inward by half an inch. This battle was clearly over!

He could only look back in shock as he watched his assailant’s head, which should have been long gone with that Fire Arrow, appear unscattered as the fire around it subsided.

This was all due to Alpha’s eternal power. After getting some time to think about it and a few hints from Victor, she had long discovered that she had been using it wrong. Eternity could mean many things… Youth and healing were one, but it also could affect how she defended and attacked, making her flesh and bones ETERNAL meant that nothing could affect them, and that 200% of each of her attacks were delivered on every strike!

“This is over!” Alpha said as she walked forward, making Jena, who was acting as if she had fainted, to the side, wet herself as she remembered how once upon a time she planned to go against this guy! Damn it… Since when did the world have superpowers… Was this a dream?

Her thoughts were the same as Gordanʼs. He also couldn’t believe that he was being pushed back like this…. He was over level 100, damn it!

“You are really tough… Forcing me to show my real power!” Alpha said as she licked her fist that was now covered in Gordan’s blood, secretly activating her power to steal his bloodline. “Now, how shall I deal with you?” she said, slowly taking her time like some movie Villain.

It was not like she was stupid or anything, but knowing that Gordan was a scion, she was simply following Victor’s orders and not cornering him! If she forced an attack, she was worried he would do something stupid that would harm Theta and her family.

And something stupid was what he did.

“It all doesn’t matter… It will be a real shame as I wanted to take my time to torture you all, but…” he squeezed his fist hard as he took a strange-looking wooden talisman.

“BANISH!” he commanded, making the talisman shine in his hand.

Almost immediately, everyone in the hall felt their body get involved in blue light.

He glared angrily. In a second, those guys were going to vanish into an abysmal dungeon prison where they would never come out again, living a life worse than death! Too bad he couldn’t punish them himself, he should have really not overestimated his power before coming here, but still… This was not bad!

“Goodbye, you…” He wanted to say something cynical, but stopped as the blue light around everyone vanished a moment later, and nothing happened.

“What was this? Some kind of a joke?” Alpha asked in surprise.

“What….” Before Gordon could realize what happened, the wooden talisman in his hand shattered into fragments, and the blue light returned, but engulfed him instead, and in a second, something unbelievable happened!

BOOM

Space itself broke where he was, and he was sucked away!

As the space healed in front of her, Alpha couldn’t comprehend what had happened until Victor’s word came to explain it for her, making her hurry to take a small GPS capsule and throw it inside the mostly healed space fracture just in time as it closed!

The talisman Gordan used was pointing to some prison dungeon that no longer existed! This led to some backlash when the high-energy Talisman was activated… And naturally, thanks to his Scion luck, the backlash just happened to send him away!

“Is he gone?” Roberta was the one to ask.

“Yeah…” Alpha, who took out her phone to check where the capsule landed, replied. There was no signal, so the fracture led to one of four… A dungeon, a pocket dimension, a ruin of some sort, or some other world!

Damn Scion luck!

Sighing, she turned to look at Edgar. “Master Edgar… What is the treasure this guy was talking about?” she couldn’t help but ask. She doubted the old man was in a position to refuse any of her ‘unreasonable’ requests at the moment.

Yup, now Theta was going to get what she wanted. The girlʼs luck was heavenly. If she were to have arrived one day earlier, her family would have made things difficult. One day later, and they would have been all lost!
