The Young Master in the Shadows

Chapter 521: Another replacment?

The bachelor party was still going on wild on deck, but after hearing what Victor said, Gary apologized to his friends and then guided Victor and Yulian toward his cabin.

Although his three friends were a little annoyed at being left out, they didn’t dare to say anything. They knew that the White and the Goldmann family were leagues above their own. What surprised them was not that, but that Yulian, under Victor’s insistence, was also invited to that private conversation, which indicated that his family might also be one of the rumored hidden Oligarchs.

All of them, after that, had one idea in mind. To get to know that Yulian guy better later! Maybe take him to the local brothel to join their ‘Afterparty’.

Anyways… In Garyʼs cramped room, three young people sat around, one on the bed, one on a chair, and the last on the windowsill.

“Seal the room first!” Gary, who sat on his bed, said directly as soon as the door closed.

“It is already sealed,” Victor, who sat in a chair behind the door, said with a smirk. “Now let me tell you… I suspect that Jim is a scion!”

“Hssssssss……. Really?” Yulian gasped, hearing the story earlier, he suspected as such. Such great misfortunes combined with a great talent were usually the hallmark of a scion’s awakening.

“99% sure…” Victor replied.

“What is a Scion?” Gary asked as he noticed the bewildered look on Yulian’s face earlier. Combined with Victorʼs unwillingness to explain anything earlier, he knew that his subject was ‘delicate’.

“Keep this info a secret, even from your family. Though I suspect the higher-ranking one already knows about him…. “ Yulian sighed. “Scions are a type of people blessed by the world… Think of them as heroes in stories. Things will always go their way!” Yulian explained, deciding to divulge this data since Victor clearly knew about this from Lily and was going to tell Gary anyway. “Their power usually manifests after suffering a great misfortune, though.”

“Do things like this exist?” Gary with a raised eyebrow.

“Yeah, believe me, they do!” Yulian nodded. He was a prime example of such a thing, but he couldn’t say it. “I can’t explain much about this as anything beyond that is a secret, but when facing one of those, you can’t win… It is like Fate itself bent to their favor! If Jim is a Scion, my friend, you are in deep trouble!”

“Exactly…” Victor nodded as he noticed the ‘Fate strength: S. Scion, Shine Brightly’ in Yulian’s status. It seemed like his family’s ritual was a success!

Gary hesitated. This sounded a bit absurd, but from Victor’s and Yulianʼs serious looks, it didn’t seem that they were kidding. But still…

“If my guess is correct, that Jim had not only left prison, he might even secure some strong backers in there…” Victor explained. “Even his half-sister might reveal to have some great secret… Those guys usually work like that!”

“What…” Gary wanted to ask, but was interrupted.

DING…

A message suddenly arrived at Gary’s phone.

Ding

Ding

Ding…

Before he could open it, three others also arrived.

Sighing, he quickly took a look. It was his butler answering his questions earlier. Reading them, his face slowly fell.

“Jim is really out… He had been for a month now for good behavior, but the news was kept a secret as the clerk forgot to file all the documents…” Gary said nervously. “After leaving, he simply vanished…”

“His mother?” Victor asked.

“She is still in the clan… An elder seemed to have taken protective custody over her!” Gary added. He knew what this meant… Those bastards wanted to involve her in the power struggle.

“Figures… And about his sister?” Victor asked. He never heard about that girl in his past life.

“She is a real beauty, so after confirming that she didn’t have the family’s bloodline, she was sent to the ‘special services’ training institute, but last week there was a fire, and she mysteriously ran away!” Gary said apprehensively. “Even the family’s under-skin tracking device was removed… this can’t be the work of amateurs!”

“Told you!” Victor said.

“Next, he will be coming for revenge!” Yulian said ominously.

“Exactly!” Victor nodded. Scions thrived on revenge because it would allow them to unleash their darkest desires without any psychological restraints, and this seemed to generate the strongest Fates.

“I….” Gary hesitated, this was a bit too sudden and he….

“CAREFUL!!” Victor suddenly yelled as a group of talismans appeared in his hand.

BANG!

A sudden impact sound and the entire yacht suddenly rocked hard, almost tipped over, and then..

PAM!

Another impact, and the yacht flipped entirely.

Before Gary could realize what happened, he noticed that Victor seemed to have vanished a moment earlier, then another bang….. Bang… Bang….

Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.

The sound was getting stronger.

Not knowing what was going on, Gary quickly activated a special talisman. The same was for Yulian.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A loud explosion shook the entire yacht, breaking it into pieces.

Thankfully, many of the young masters on deck were already thrown off with the dancers due to the previous impact, so most of them only suffered some injuries.

In fact, even those who were inside, like the captain, the sailors, and the servers, appeared one after another with heavy injuries.

The only missing ones were the three young masters in Garyʼs room.

***

“Any trouble?” The blond young man in black robes who watched the fire from afar and the helicopters that spread around the explosion’s site to look for survivors, extended his hand to help the girl in the diving suit in the water.

“Don’t worry, young master… Everything below the deck on that Yacht is already inside that dungeon now!” she said as she took his hand and climbed up the boat, throwing herself into his embrace like a kitten.

The moment she stepped onto that boat, anyone outside would have lost complete track of her. It was as if they vanished into thin air.

“Are you sure of it?” the blond man said with annoyance as he let go of her. He couldn’t understand why girls always liked to hug him. Couldn’t they understand that he was not into young ones?

“Affirmative, the tracker our agent placed on him disappeared!” she nodded. “Why go to these lengths, young master… Couldn’t we just capture him?” she asked.

“Gary is a Von Geldstadt heir; he has so many life-saving artifacts that it would make things troublesome…” he said as his eyes shone with cruelty. “For the grand plan, we can’t let anyone notice anything wrong, so by locking him into that Infinity dungeon, we will be able to buy some time… I doubt he will be able to exit anytime soon!”

“There were two other guys with him, probably from some other oligarch family, as they were sucked in with him!?” she asked nervously. Only players were affected by the Talisman she used.

“Oh... Donʼt worry, THEY will deal with it,” he sighed.

“Young master, can those guys who helped you be trusted?” she asked nervously.

“No, but I know what they want… between us, it is just business. They can eat up the entire Von Geldstadt family for all I care… As long as Elder G and my mother survive, it doesn’t matter,” he said. “Now, it will be my turn!” he said, taking a pill, then, after hesitating for a moment, he swallowed it.

In a few seconds, his shape changed into a totally different person. GARY!

He slowly let his robes slide down to reveal that he was also dressed in a suit similar to the one Gary was wearing earlier.

“No matter how much I look at that face, I can never like it…” the girl pouted.

“Naturally, I… CAREFUL!” he shouted as he glanced at the shadow in the water, but by the time he did that, it was too late.

BAM!

A huge octopus emerged from the water, in a great splash, then, as the young man prepared for battle, its long tentacles slid from right behind him, grabbing the maid in a very perverse way before dragging her right into the water with it.

”Kyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....................” The girlʼs muffled scream vanished in moments.

“LUMIA!” the young man shouted, but moments later the lake returned to its calm surface as if nothing had happened. “Damn it!” Without thinking, he immediately jumped into the water and began to search fanatically.

Still, after more than 10 dives, he found nothing.... SHIT! What was that....

”YOUNG MASTER!”

Suddenly, someone called from a search helicopter that appeared above him.

”WE FOUND THE YOUNG MASTER GARY...” Someone called before throwing down a ladder. ”CAN YOU CLIMB UP?”

He hesitated, then grabbed onto the ladder. ”Yes...” he said. Although he was reluctant to let go of Lumia, he couldnʼt affect the bigger plan. For now, he decided to send a search party after he returned to the family!

***

Watching the helicopter leave with an annoyed expression was none other than the great octopus… Victor, who sat on the same hidden boat the young master was on with an unconscious girl beside him.

He didn’t expect things to go bad that quickly… Damn it!

Earlier, while he was with Gary, he noticed a strange prompt.

WARNING!

It happened too quickly, and before he could decide or warn the others, Gary and Yulian vanished along with the insides of the yacht, leaving a shell that exploded moments later.

Naturally, he was not affected, but feeling annoyed, super annoyed!

He quickly used his Fate eyes to locate any murderous threads around him, which led him to the girl, then to this boat, where he saw a guy that he was familiar with from his past life!

Troublesome! This guy was a sick bastard!

Anyways... When reaching this boat earlier, he was shocked at what Jim was doing, figuring many things out as he watched him take that Pill. The guys who were supporting him were definitely the same ones behind Axel!

They planned to replace him right before the wedding! Shit…

That’s why Victor, thinking quickly, decided to make a move. Naturally, he couldn’t attack Jim, but since the latter was preoccupied, he quickly decided to kidnap the maid to interrogate her.

Jim, at the moment, didn’t have the time to follow him as he would not risk the grand plan.

Looking at the unconscious, tied-up, girl, Victor sighed, then made a move with his hand, sucking her into his cauldron for the girls inside to deal with her.

He had no time for this shit, damn it!

Quickly, he sent a message to Alpha and Lin, explaining the situation to them and what to do, then, with a frown, he looked at a notification that was hanging in his vision from earlier.

DO YOU WANT TO BE PULLED INTO THE DUNGEON?

He pressed as he couldn’t simply leave Gary there with Yulian, or Jim’s plan might really work. He needed to end this ASAP.
