The Young Master in the Shadows

Chapter 529: NAME YOUR PRICE

The investigation regarding Harveyʼs assassination was not concluded… In fact, it was not expected to end for months to come, as the only lead they found was the disappearance of the two invitees from the Von Zwei family. But upon contacting that family, they claimed that those guys were not the ones they sent to attend the wedding.

So in the end, it came to a dead end, and everyone agreed on one thing: the wedding was ruined.

That was why most of the guests bade their farewell and went home after being questioned. They also had their unnecessary short-term memories erased by the Von Geldstadt troops, but they didn’t remember that… But they were happy regardless, as Harvey made sure to give every one of them a generous gift package featuring many of the Von Geldstadt’s familyʼs top products.

As for good old Gary, who was immediately imprisoned and questioned upon his return.

Still, after confirming his identity with a DNA test, he finally got to meet with April, the real one, who was kept safe by Harvy in a nearby hotel. After some passionate making out, both of them agreed to hold their wedding regardless, especially after ‘Charlotte’ returned, telling her family that she initially followed the imposter out but lost track of him at some point…

Anyway, the wedding continued!

The wedding hall this time was not big or grand, but just a simple hall decorated with fresh jasmine, lilies, and peonies that was hastily arranged to surround a few tables where very few guests sat in front of a simple, ancient-looking altar waiting for the bride and the groom to appear.

“This way!” a servant led a wobbly Victor and his three girls, Lin, Elise, and Theta, inside toward one of the tables.

“Thanks…” Victor said as he sat at the table and quickly made a note of the others sitting around. They were none other than his Aunt Octavia with her three children. In this life, this should be his first time meeting them face to face!

“Ah… Hi there… Nice to meet you! My name is Victor White, and those beauties are my wives… Lin, Elise, and Robin!” he said, making Theta blush as he purposefully began inspecting his Aunt’s and his cousin’s Zola breast…

“I am your aunt, Octavia… Those are your cousins, Zed, Zola, and Dannie…” Octavia quickly replied a bit coldly as she watched him lick his lips as he eyed her daughter. She heard about this guy… A total pervert. Well, he was just like his father… The fruit doesnʼt fall far from the tree!

“I see… Wait… WHAT? Cousin?... I mean, Aunt?” Victor gasped, turning his head from Zola’s breasts to his aunt’s… Then a quick face up to look her in the eye. “ You are my aunt Octavia? Really? The one my father always speaks highly of?”

“No need for acting, I bet your father never mentioned me before….” Octavia spat.

“Of course not! I always heard him mention you, saying that it was his dream to find a wife as elegant and compassionate as you are!” Victor lied with a straight face.

“...” Octavia rolled her eyes. Like Theodore would ever say anything like that to his son. “You seem to remember a lot, but I heard you got into an accident and lost all your memories… ”

“I got them back… One night with my wives, then POOF! It all came pouring back in… You don’t know it, but one of my wives is a total ‘expert’. Once you taste her, you can never forget… I just had to let her ride me like a bull and…”

“EHM!” Octavia cleared her thoughts as she glared at Victor. Then glanced at her children. Zola was blushing, Zed was swallowing his drool, and Dannie, who was busy tasting the ice cream, didn’t seem to pay attention to him.

“Ah, sorry…” Victor chuckled before turning to Zed and Zola. “I forgot that my cousins were minors!” he quickly said.

“I am already 19!” Zed quickly clarified for some reason. Ever since Victor sat at the table, he had been secretly inspecting that girl Lin. She was totally his type! Too bad she was married to his cousin and was off limits… As for the other two little ones… Sorry, He was no lolicon!

“I am 9!” Danny, who heard her brother say his age, quickly added, but everyone ignored her.

“Nice to meet you, Danny!” Victor said to her before turning back to Zed. “So you are older than me! That is a surprise!  Should I call you big brother ?” Victor said with surprise, making Zed feel a bit smug for a second.

“No need… We are almost the same age…” Zed quickly said, changing his opinion about Victor, unlike the other Von Weise heirs, this guy seemed ok…

“How many wives do you have?” Victor quickly asked, making Zed, who was praising Victor as a good guy in his mind, quickly pause.

Zola, who was acting as a lady in front of Victor, lifting a glass of water to her lips, spat everything in her mouth, hearing his comment.

“...” Octavia sighed.

“...” Zed silently cursed. “I am still single!” he said. In fact, he was still a virgin, but he couldn’t reveal that in front of Victor, who was a famous Harem master!

“Didn’t you already… You know, go through some kind of family adulthood ritual?” Victor asked with a frown, meaning, since you are already a player, why are you still a virgin? “What is stopping you…”

“I did… it is just…”

“You have ED?” Victor interrupted, making the people who were editing on the two tables beside them turn to look at him, hearing what he said.

“NO! I…”

“Zed is looking for the right girl!” Octavia, who could no longer watch her son get dragged by Victor, replied in his stead.

“Right!” Zed nodded, making his Sister Zola roll her eyes. Her brother was just a geek who didn’t know how to court a girl… Well, she was in no better situation. It was all their mother’s fault for being so overprotective in raising them.

“Oh… “ Victor nodded. In his past life, although he was not really friends with Zed, the two of them were a bit more than acquaintances.

Back then, after his grandma’s strange death, Octavia lost her backing, so her husband’s family showed their real face and began to pressure her. Knowing her situation, she asked Theodore to take care of her son for her in an attempt for him to make some connection in the main family.

The old man naturally agreed and arranged for Zed to work for none other than Horizon Media… Not at a low position like that of Victor’s, but at a director’s position!

It was a mistake! Zed, as a guy who lived a very reserved life before, was totally ruined by the media world, which was a whole new experience for him. In just a few months, he quickly fell into the trap of women and alcohol. Developing a myriad of bad habits in no time, which quickly led to him falling into some big trouble after some stupid idol got pregnant and made it public…

That’s why, when Octavia heard about this, she got into a fight with Theorore, then took her son back home and betrothed him to some strong female boss who could rein him in.

The last Victor heard of him was just before the Reckoning, reading about it in the tabloids he used to wipe his butt.…  Zed seemed to have gotten into a divorce, and it was a huge scandal after Zed’s wife was caught cockolding him…  raising a dozen men outside.

“...”

“AH!” Danny, the little girl, suddenly screamed, her face went pale as she collapsed to the ground.

“DANNY!” Octavia hurried to her daughter’s side. “What’s wrong?”

“Ah… I don’t know my tummy…” Danny said as her face turned deathly white.

“I told you not to eat that Ice cream…” Octavia sighed as she carried Danny off and looked toward one of the waiters. “Is there a place to rest?”

“This way, madam!” The waiter naturally nodded and quickly guided Octavia away.

Watching all of this, Victor acted totally natural, perfectly hiding the coldness in his glare, just shaking his head worriedly.

Earlier, when he entered the hall and inspected everyone, it took him just a second to notice the abnormality around Dannie, the little girl he didnʼt hear a lot about in his past life.

Reading this, Victor silently activated his curse dispelling skill a moment ago, directly erasing the curse from the little girl, but this seemed to cause a lot of energy to be drained out of her at once, making her almost faint.

Now the girl was safe, but Victor was not relieved. He was not sure about it, but the place that the girl might have gotten that curse might be when the incident with the Poison lord happened on the family’s island. And if his guess was correct, she might not be the only one with a hidden bomb inside of her!

It seemed like he needed to find a way to make Kai or Mike check on all those people who were on the main island that day! Damn it… He had no time for this shit!

“I say, Cousin Victor… I heard you are the one behind Lara and the Magical girls’ group…” Zola, not noticing anything wrong with Victor, suddenly asked.

“It was just something I created to help Lara get more social experience… You know how being raised in my family is a bit harmful for a little girl like her!” Victor told the truth for once. “Sadly, Lara now has to stop…”

“What? What happened?” Zola asked in surprise.

“She… Let’s say father sent her to study abroad…” Victor said, not wanting to mention the Heavenly sect here. “She passed on her mantle to some other group, though, so hopefully they can be as successful as she was! We are waiting for them to complete their training before they can make their debut… They are a group of five sisters!”

“Oh…” Zola nodded.

“...” Zed just frowned a bit, hearing Victor, glancing at his sister while wondering why she was asking about that.

“I have been wondering, can I do that kind of work?” Zola, not letting her brother wait for long, asked again, finally getting to the point.

“...” Zed frowned. Their mother had clearly told his sister that she should focus on her studies!

“Well…” Victor hesitated. He didn’t know a lot about Zola from his past life, except for what his father and Zed casually mentioned, but the last he heard was that she got married to some bigshot from the von Zwei family or something. No idea what happened afterwards.

Since he planned to erase the Von Zwei in this life, he couldn’t let that happen again. “I think I have something better than that… My wife, Mira, has been working lately on a new TV series, and we are looking for new faces… Although I promised not to intervene in the casting, how about you give it a go?” he asked.

“As an actress, you mean?” Zola quickly asked.

“Yeah… Unlike singers, you donʼt have to do tours and anything stupid, just show up on time at the studio, so there arenʼt a lot of dangers regarding this! Victor nodded.” But would that be ok with your parents?” he asked. As far as he knew, not only was Octavia a bit old-fashioned, but Zola’s father was even more traditional, coming from a family that looked down on females.

“I… I will ask my grandf…. I mean, Master Harvey for help, he seems to have some sway over mother!” Zola quickly said, making Zed almost jump. Right! They have just discovered that they had a super strong Grandpa… Maybe he would be able to rein in their overprotective mother!

“That would be for the best!” Victor nodded.

“VICTOR!” someone suddenly said, making all of those at the table look toward the voice.

It was none other than the disheveled Yulian who seemed to have come here in a hurry.

“Brother Yulian, what’s wrong?” Victor asked as Zed and Zola turned to inspect the newcomer.

“Sorry to bother you, but I am in a hurry… We need to talk… Follow me…” he said before turning to leave.

Victor nodded as he stood up. Gesturing Lin to stay here, he quickly hurried after Yulian, who led him out of the hall toward a side room.

“Brother-in-law… I heard from my eldest disciple brother that you found a girl… CONGRATULATIONS!” Victor said directly just as Yulian closed the door. “I thought you would be with her now…”

“Yeah, about that…  Before the dungeon closed, I gave her a tracker, and I just confirmed her position! When the dungeon ended, they were sent to Galtria. It will take me three hours to get there by jet, so I have to leave asap!” Yulian said in a hurry. “I just had to stop by and deliver two letters from my family to you…” He said, taking out two envelopes and giving them to Victor. “Give the first to your father…” he said, swallowing a bit. “Read the other and give me an answer now…”

Victor raised an eyebrow, then, after tucking the Envelope that clearly had a marriage request between Yulian and Alice into his pocket, he opened the other one.

It only had two sentences.

THE DAVITOTHAK’S FEATHER

NAME YOUR PRICE

Victor quickly folded it and looked at Yulian.

“Look, it is not my sister’s fault, they already knew…” Yulian quickly clarified, thinking that Victor would be upset that his secret was revealed.

“I know…” Victor said. “ To tell the truth, my master already expected your uncle to ask for this…”

“What? Really?” Yulian was taken aback.

“He already specified the price I should ask for… Tell your family, in exchange for the feather, I need the OBRAS’S HEART OF STONE… “ Victor directly said. He already agreed with Lily on this.

“What is that?” Yulian frowned. He had never heard of that before. Well… He never heard of many things, including that DAVITOTHAK.

“Something that your family doesn’t need… It had been rotting in their vault for more than a couple of centuries; it is time for it to be put to good use! Victor said as he took out a wooden box and gave it to Yulian directly.

“This is…” Yulian opened the box and quickly saw an ominous-looking black feather nested within.

“Make sure not to touch it… It is the thing your family urgently needs… When you get that artifact in exchange for it, just send it to my mansion…” Victor said, patting Yullian’s shoulder.

“.... You really shouldn’t trust people this easily…” Yulian, who felt a bit glad with Victor’s obvious trust, said.

“If I can’t trust you with a… little feather, how can you expect me to trust you with taking care of my sister!” Victor chuckled, making Yulian blush a bit.

“About this…” Yulian wanted to clarify the situation regarding his marriage to Ana and his current request for Alice’s hand. He felt a bit conflicted and ashamed, but he had long decided that Alice would be his wife, and he was not going to back down!

“Don’t worry about that…” Victor quickly said. “As long as you also take Alice as a main wife, and promise to treat her well, it’s ok… Do I look like one of those harem-hating idiots to you?” he chuckled. He would never find a better fit for Alice than Yulian. He was a bit worried about what Anaʼs relationship with Alice might become, but he was not going to stick his nose in other peopleʼs harem!

“Right!” Yulian, who was worried about the same things, quickly nodded. Victor was the ultimate bane of Harem haters, so he should be considered his ally in this!

“By the way, a little reminder from my master… Keep everything about your new wife a secret from your family for now… Your father-in-law should tell you the same, but just in case, I wanted to remind you!” Victor suddenly said as he walked toward the door.

“Oh… I will!” Yulian nodded with a strange frown. He did consider that!

“Also, make sure not to say anything to Alice before you marry her… That girl can be a bit possessive, but your little Anastasia should have the background to force her to submission afterwards!” Victor warned.  Although he didn’t want Yulian to scam Alice, it was for her own good! Sure, Yulian would get some very nasty whipping when Alice found out the truth, but that had nothing to do with him!  “Also, Alice’s master has a way to force others to tell the truth, so try to delay meeting her until after you seal the deal with my stupid sister! If she made trouble, let your mother have a talk with her... That bi... I mean, your esteemed mother should be able to convince her!” Victor finally said as he exited the room. Although he was not sure Yulian would be able to pull it off, it should be doable as long as he put his mind to it. Scion or not, Yulian still had an S-ranked fate after all!

“...” Yulain frowned a bit, hearing Victor. He was not annoyed by him giving him all that advice, but by the fact that Victor had a better grasp of the bigger picture than he did. Sighing, he decided to ask Lily later....

Giving the box one last look, he put it into his storage ring and then quickly left. He had a jet to catch and a bride to find!
