God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 98: Chapter 96: Luring the Snake Out of Its Hole

”What clues? Quickly tell us!” Bai Tao was extremely anxious, thinking they finally found a clue. After investigating for so long, if they let those criminals continue to roam free, the Shanghai police would be infamous forever.

The other officers in the meeting room also had a glimmer in their eyes.

These days, the Shanghai police had been heavily criticized, and they were already fed up, eager to capture the criminals and establish the authority of the people’s police.

”Chief, do you remember when Xiao Tian was injured?” Jiang Chao asked.

Bai Tao’s eyes lit up, and he said, ”Are you saying that those criminals had something to do with Xiao Tian’s incident?”

”That’s right.” Jiang Chao nodded, took out his laptop, connected it to the projector, and quickly opened a photo.

Jiang Chao pointed at the photo on the screen and said, ”The group that injured Xiao Tian last time actually aimed for that farmer. The person in the photo is the owner of that farm.

As for the rest, everyone already knows, the recent murders, the dead all bear a striking resemblance.”

”The farm owner also looks like the deceased.” Bai Tao continued, excitedly, ”With this, things are clear. The criminals must be looking for something.

They didn’t find it last time, believed they targeted the wrong person, so they set new targets on people who look like the farm owner. Judging by their actions, they won’t stop until they find what they want.”

The police guessed correctly!

During Xiao Tian’s operation, he was seriously injured by Iron Corpse Fan Ming, who forced the farmer to hand over the Five Elements Crystal Ball, but the farmer handed over a fake one.

After an investigation, the Water Drop Organization members finally concluded that the Crystal Ball was indeed not in the farmer’s possession.

They were confident that the information from the portrait wasn’t wrong, just targeted the wrong person. Therefore, they began brutal killings across Shanghai City, as Bai Tao said, they wouldn’t rest until they find the Crystal Ball!

”Damn it!” Jiang Chao couldn’t help but curse angrily, ”Killing a thousand by mistake and not letting one go, are these bastards even human!”

”Now’s not the time to be angry!”

Bai Tao scolded, sternly, ”The most urgent task now is to bring those criminals to justice quickly, otherwise, if they don’t find what they’re looking for, they might expand their scope and kill more people, and then, more will suffer.”

Jiang Chao calmed down a bit, took a deep breath, and said, ”Chief, under our surveillance, we’ve targeted someone who looks similar to the farm owner and might be the next target of those bastards.

Our plan is to have that person help us, lure out the criminals, and capture them all. Requesting your approval!”

”Approved!” Bai Tao nodded, gave Jiang Chao a deep look, and solemnly said, ”But you must ensure safety, and make sure this person is protected, understand?”

”Understood!” Jiang Chao saluted in reply.

”Let’s begin!” Bai Tao shouted.

”Yes!” Jiang Chao responded and waved, leading the detectives in the meeting room to start the operation.

”Hold on!” Bai Tao called out to Jiang Chao again.

Jiang Chao turned around, looking puzzled.

”Has Xiao Tian not come back yet?” Bai Tao asked, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes.

”No.” Jiang Chao shook his head helplessly.

He understood Bai Tao’s concerns clearly, as these criminals dared to openly murder without fearing the police, indicating they were indeed powerful.

To deal with them using the Shanghai police’s forces was not easy.

Xiao Tian was different, having continuously cracked many big cases and achieved numerous successes, with his help the operation might proceed more smoothly.

Moreover, last time Xiao Tian acted independently, he might have a better understanding of these criminals.

What Jiang Chao didn’t realize was that Bai Tao didn’t just appreciate Xiao Tian’s capabilities; unconsciously he had come to rely on Xiao Tian, feeling that without his help, they couldn’t possibly handle those criminals.

However, since Xiao Tian hadn’t returned, the Shanghai police couldn’t just sit and wait.

”Alright, proceed.” Bai Tao said, his face slightly heavy.

Jiang Chao nodded, leading the detectives out of the meeting room, further confirming the action plan.

Two hours later, in a deserted warehouse on the outskirts.

”Master Fan.” A member of the Water Drop Organization ran into the warehouse, came to Iron Corpse Fan Ming and said with furrowed brows, ”I just received word that our next target is already under police protection, what should we do?”

”Police?” Fan Ming sneered dismissively, ”Police mean nothing, not even special forces can stand against us, what’s there to be afraid of a few puny officers?”

”Get ready, continue with the plan, tonight we’ll capture the target and let those foolish police see our power!” Fan Ming shouted.

”Yes!” Surrounding him, over twenty members of the Water Drop Organization shouted in unison.

”Xiao Tian, are you going to join the operation? This time, you won’t be so lucky, I’ll tear you apart!” Fan Ming coldly muttered to himself.

Meanwhile.

The police were executing their plan in full swing, securing the target’s residence tightly to ensure their safety.

As time ticked away, it soon reached midnight.

In the target home’s bedroom, Jiang Chao picked up the walkie-talkie and quietly said, ”Is everyone ready? They should arrive soon. Over.”

”Team A is ready, over!”

”Team B is ready, over!”

...

”Team E is ready, over!”

All the teams replied one after another.

Jiang Chao nodded, solemnly saying, ”This group of criminals is not ordinary thugs, they’re hard to handle. Everyone must be careful and ensure the target’s safety!”

After speaking, his hand holding the walkie-talkie trembled, and his forehead was covered with large beads of sweat.

As the operation leader, Jiang Chao was acutely aware of the danger of this mission.

A moment of carelessness could lead to severe casualties!

After all, if those criminals could severely injure Xiao Tian, and now without Xiao Tian’s help, the challenge was even greater.

”Xiao Tian... will you surprise us?” Jiang Chao murmured, looking up at the ceiling.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

At that moment, gunshots suddenly sounded outside!

Jiang Chao’s body shook, and his eyes narrowed.

The enemies had arrived!

”Enemies sighted, all teams act as planned and report immediately!” Jiang Chao ordered into the walkie-talkie.

His left fist clenched tighter.

This operation deployed special forces, perfectly capable of taking out regular robbers, but that night, Jiang Chao was not at all confident.

”There are so many, snipers are all top-notch, surely they can take out their leader, right?” Jiang Chao muttered.

Then, the walkie-talkie buzzed.

”Report, Team A has been broken through, two severely wounded, one down!”

Before Jiang Chao could react, the walkie-talkie again buzzed urgently.

”Team E compromised, five severely wounded, three... down.”

”Team C compromised, Team C compromised!”

”What? Team C is compromised too?” Jiang Chao’s heart tightened, shouting aloud.
