Chapter 2836 - 2837: Fighting For Her Life

-----

As she stood shocked, she quickly pressed her palms together and prayed. The skies above roared and cracked open. A massive golden fissure spread rapidly across the heavens, releasing an overwhelming divine pressure that crashed down toward Kireina as she desperately tried to flee.

BOOOM!

”Ngh?!”

Kireina braced herself against the immense divine force. It matched the strength of her own Star Eater Realm. She swiftly unleashed her Chaotic Aura, combining it with the full power of her Soul, her Martial Arts, her Arcane Path teachings, and her Alchemy.

”HAAAAH!”

With a mighty roar, her Aura exploded outward. Countless ripples tore through space as giant fists formed from her energy surged upward, smashing the divine presence back into the sky and splitting the pagoda cleanly in two.

CRAAASH!

Frank, Matsuo, Erika, and Hiromi watched the scene in complete awe, unable to comprehend how things had escalated so quickly.

”M-Matsuo…!” Frank groaned. ”Whatʼs happening?! Why is your ancestor doing this…!”

”Kireina…! Frank, what is she?!” Matsuo demanded, eyes wide with disbelief. ”Sheʼs not just a Demon or an Evil God. She said sheʼs a Chaos Spawn!”

”What…?! Whatʼs a Chaos Spawn?! I donʼt understand!” Frank cried. ”But I know sheʼs Kireina! Sheʼs not even trying to fight back. She just wants to escape…! Donʼt hurt her!”

”Silence them!” the Great Ancestor commanded. She had not moved an inch the entire time, continuing to channel the Divine Power of her Goddess.

The Six Elders charged at the children, intent on subduing them and dragging them away so they would no longer interfere.

”Stop!”

Erika leaped forward, blocking a blazing kick from one of the old monks with her full werewolf form. Residual spiritual energy from the domain had seeped into her body, and without realizing it, a Spiritual Heart was forming inside her, responding to her fury.

CRAAASH!

”Impossible! A mere werewolf pup blocking my Heaven Sundering Kick?!”

The Elder staggered back in shock as Erika stared at her bleeding, wounded arms. She clenched her claws tightly.

”I donʼt know what the FUCK is going on, but you almost killed Frank! Donʼt hurt him anymore! What the hell is wrong with you?!”

”Silence, insolent child!” another Elder barked. ”You are merely a guest, yet you dare defy the Great Ancestorʼs orders?! If you refuse to help restrain the Demon, that means you stand with her!”

”What?!”

Erika barely had time to react as two more Elders attacked. One unleashed the Sunlight Dragon Fist Style, while the other, an Onmyōji, hurled crystals that summoned massive Shikigami in the shape of a giant Tanuki and a ferocious Boar.

Golden fists rushed from the left. The two enormous beasts charged from the right. Erika was overwhelmed, her arms on the verge of breaking as she struggled against the relentless assault.

”Aaaahhhh!”

”Erika!!!”

Frank, Harumi, and Matsuo screamed and rushed to help, attacking the Elders right in front of the Great Ancestor. Despite his wounds, Frank summoned his new Unique Manifestation, materializing dozens of legendary-grade weapons from thin air and impaling one Elder. Harumi conjured blood specters that trapped the Onmyōji, while Matsuo cast restraining and sealing spells around the others, halting their advance.

”Y-You dare fight back?!” one Elder roared. ”Matsuo, youʼre our brightest disciple! Donʼt do this! Youʼre betraying the Sect!”

”T-Thatʼs not what Iʼm doing…!” Matsuo protested. ”I-I…! Just stop hurting my friends!”

”Gaaahh…!”

”Elder Ken!”

One of the Elders collapsed, impaled by Frankʼs weapons, bleeding heavily and trembling in agony as death approached.

”That child wields power rivaling an Elder at his age?!”

”Weʼve severely underestimated him!”

”Great Ancestor, the children are rebelling! What should we do?!”

”Tsk!” the Great Ancestor clicked her tongue. ”Canʼt you see Iʼm busy containing the Demon?! Subdue them with everything you have! As long as they live… you may even sever their limbs if necessary.”

”G-Great Ancestor…! Why?!” Matsuo cried, utterly confused. ”Youʼve always been so benevolent!”

”And I am!” she replied firmly. ”But the sin of foolishly bringing a demon here cannot be easily forgiven, my disciple. Consider this a lesson. You will grow stronger through trials and challenges.”

”No, thatʼs…!” Matsuo faltered, no longer certain what to believe. ”I had no idea!”

”Enough,” she said coldly, turning her attention away. ”Matsuo, I am disappointed in you.”

She ignored him completely. The Elders shattered his sealing domain in an instant and attacked all at once—six against four.

It was an utterly impossible fight from the beginning.

Kireina, still struggling against the Divine Pressure and trying to escape, saw her friends on the verge of being beaten to death.

She knew she had to flee, yet she could not abandon them.

”I only wanted a friendly alliance! Why do you judge me like this? Does my birth make me inherently evil? What truly defines evil—birthright or actions?!”

”Enough of your twisted words!” the Great Ancestor shouted. ”Your brainwashing will not work on me, Spawn of Chaos. I have faced your kind before. You are monstrous beings that devour everything!”

”You have no idea who I am!”

Kireina released her full power. Her aura surged violently. Her black armor suddenly turned radiant gold. The sunlight that had been burning her was instantly absorbed, fueling her strength even further.

”…?!”

In a heartbeat, her appearance transformed. Her pale skin tanned, her long purple hair became brilliant blonde, and her eyes blazed with both gold and red light as she activated her Khepri Transformation.

The Holy Sunlight no longer harmed her as severely. Instead, she absorbed it, growing stronger.

She had sworn during her training never to absorb energy again and to cultivate her own power, but this was an emergency. She had no choice but to unleash her true strength.

”W-Wha…! Youʼre absorbing Holy Sunlight Divine Power…?!” the Great Ancestor gasped in shock.

And then.

RUMBLE!

BOOOMMM!!!

The ground beneath Kireina shattered. The entire pagoda exploded into countless fragments under her overwhelming pressure. The Great Ancestor shielded herself with a barrier, but the Elders attacking Frank and his friends were blasted away by the shockwave, hurled hundreds of meters through the air.

The entire Amaterasu Clan went on high alert. Everyone rushed toward the scene. Elders, Great Monks, Onmyōji, Shrine Maidens—all were drawn by the massive explosion, realizing something had gone terribly wrong.

”Whatʼs happening?!”

”A Demon has infiltrated the Clan! Sheʼs trying to kill the Great Ancestor!”

”No! Stop her! Stop that thing!”

They all saw her floating in the sky, protective bubbles of light shielding Frank, Matsuo, Harumi, and Erika from the blast she had unleashed to end the conflict once and for all.

The legendary, ancient, and revered Golden Pagoda of the Amaterasu Clan lay in ruins—their sacred legacy trampled beneath her power.
