Chapter 631: Hunting the Target

After the blast from the Magnetite Star Core, Grimm did not hesitate to use long distance teleportation to appear next to Little Myna.

“Gah! Young Master, that fast?!”

Little Myna was hiding in a big tree, and he asked in surprise. He had been teasing a pair of little finches in their nest out of boredom, the big ones were in a distance ‘cheep cheep cheeping’, hardly opponents worth Little Myna’s time.

With Grimm’s appearance, Little Myna landed on his shoulder and wondered out loud, “Master, did you sneak attack the Level-3 Sorcerers?”

“No,” Grimm shook his head and calmly said, “I used the Magnetite Star Core’s first attack to bombard the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy’s Sorcerer Tower. While it didn’t really do much, I thought it would be a good reminder to those Shadow Argus Sorcerers that we still exist.”

If Grimm were to leave enough of a presence, and the other party could not track down any of his actual traces, then the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy would definitely leave enough manpower to deter him from another attack!

Since Grimm had attacked the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy with a fly-by attack, with them having no idea how to follow his tracks, what would those Sorcerers think? A sorcerer that could appear at any time with a devastating attack, hiding so close but unable to be seen. Just thinking about it sent chills down Grimm’s back.

If it were the other side targeting him like this…

As such, this concealment Sorcerer made the academy extremely anxious and on-edge, even having a grand sorcerer meeting in order to deal with the concealment Sorcerer, Grimm. If Grimm kept on with his strikes from the dark and the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy was unable to find his trace, then the oppression of the concealment Sorcerer would become stronger and stronger, maybe even relying on a single person to change the situation of the academy war.

“Gah!? What! Young Master, what’s with the capriciousness?” Little Myna squawked, apparently surprised not only by the news that Grimm’s attack was aimed at the opponent’s Sorcerer Tower Mana Pool but also that he had stirred up the proverbial Shadow Argus wasp nest.

“I like it! Caw caw caw caw, this is so exciting! What shall we do next?”

Grimm gradually flew up with Little Myna, calmly saying, “We bide our time, whittle down their patience. We’ll look for the targets near the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy, and also take our time to understand the situation over there by gathering information here.”

With that, Grimm took Little Myna and flew off into the horizon.

Three days later.

Outside Shadow Argus Academy grounds, two official Sorcerers were flying side by side.

“Caesar, do you really think what the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy said, about a powerful Sorcerer from the Hydra Wrath that has gone over there trying to destroy their Sorcerer Tower, is true? Even Shadow Argus Stigmata Sorcerer has personally descended to ask the Sorcerers World Guardians what happened.”

A Sorceress in a black veil, with a graceful body, riding a five meter long flying tiger soul slave asked the skinny old Sorcerer beside her.

The old Sorcerer wore two metal rings on the bridge of his nose and had a black gem tipped wand hanging from his wrist. As he shook his head, the sound of a dozen metal rings jingled, “Perhaps… even if there were a Sorcerer with such destructive power, their target is not Earthen Ear Sorcerer Academy. We’re only responsible for dispatching our Sorcerers to support the academy war.”

The old Sorcerer smirked. “If Shadow Argus wins, then we get Hydra Wrath’s inflated bonus. If Shadow Argus loses, then we still have the money they paid for our commission. Hehehe. We won’t lose anything, but Hydra Wrath will.”

The Sorceress could not help but let out a little laugh. “Oh right, I still don’t know why Shadow Argus Academy would want to fight Hydra Wrath Academy right now, Hydra Wrath Academy’s five hundred year protection period has just ended and they are immediately engaging in war. They’re not giving them any ground. It seems like the conflict of interest between the Stigmata Sorcerers are quite complicated.”

“Who cares? The conflict between the Stigmata Sorcerers has gone on for who knows how long, all we need to do is care about ourselves,” the old Sorcerer said nonchalantly before they shifted into comets and disappeared into the sky.

Two days later.

A fire lit up the vast forest, with distant sounds of yowling beasts and flapping wings. Casear and Maynei huddled near the flames, waiting for their sizzling barbeque to be done.

“Mine’s done. I like mine medium-well.” Casear said as he picked up a piece of meat with a pair of iron tongs and brought it up to his mouth as he took a hearty bite, grease dribbling down to the ground.

“Hiss…”

Suddenly, the sound of slobbering made Maynei, who had been waiting for her piece of meat to turn crispy golden brown, glance over at Caesar. ‘What’s the matter? This old man’s drooling while eating, he’s tossed the sorcerer etiquette out the window.’

Caesar glanced over at Maynei, saying, “Hey, medium-well tastes really good, you want a bite?”

He thought that the drooling sound was coming from her direction.

“No, I prefer mine well-done.” With that said, Maynei asked, “With the number of Sorcerers that the other academies are sending over to Shadow Argus, do you think that the Hydra Wrath Academy would be able to pull through this time?”

“While I can’t say much about the Honor Hold Academy, the Western Meadow Academy will definitely send no less than two hundred people, there’ll probably be less from the Frozen Soul Academy, and as for the Boundless Light…” Caesar laughed frostily. “Hydra Wrath Academy has a few others that it’s been secretly funding, only time will tell…”

“Aaah! It’s done! It’s done! Young Master, I can’t take it anymore! Get rid of them! C’mon can we eat yet?! I’m hungry!”

A sudden voice invaded the private, relaxed conversation the two Sorcerers were having with one another. Before Caesar could even finish his sentence, he was shocked, and Maynei was startled, as both of their bodies tensed up.

“Who?! Huu…”

Then, whether it was Casear or Maynei, both felt a hand strongly gripping the back of their necks and an incredible force pressing down on them from above. With a resounding ‘crunch’, their necks snapped and their bodies collapsed onto the ground like puppets with cut strings.

The space between the two people distorted and Grimm appeared between them, looking on in quiet contemplation. He had been following these two for a very, very long time. He yelled at Little Myna, who rushed toward the Sorceress’s now well done roast meat.

“What’s the hurry? We’ve already been following them for two days, can’t you have waited a while longer? We could have gotten more information out of these two,” Grimm said angrily as he flipped through the Sorcerers’ belongings, finding low value sorcerer tools, potions and a Magic Stone income gap before finding a contract.

“Earthen Ear Sorcerer Academy will support Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy in the coming academy territorial battle with two hundred Level-1 Sorcerers. If victorious, one tenth of all Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy assets will be shared, if defeated, Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy pays two thousand advanced Magic Stones, five hundred Sorcerer Essences, one burning stone mine…”

Little Myna then piped up, “But I’m hungry!”
