A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 555: Boom!

The path of searching for the truth required one hundred percent perseverance, and an addition of a little luck to make it possible.

This bit of luck was very crucial!

Without this bit of luck, it was a difference between an innumerable Level-3 Elemental Sorcerer and a Stigmata Sorcerer.

For the Destructive Force experiment, the fifteen-meter-tall experimental instrument had eighteen tandem fire element foundations at the bottom, eighteen tandem water element foundations at the top, and an Energy Conservation Seal crystal glass cover in the middle. The interior was filled with Energy Intensified Rubber Cubes which were constantly looking for something that could carry the Destructive Force.

In the consecutive days of searching, Grimm had become accustomed to physical and mental exhaustion, constant search, constant experimentation, and constant failure.

The ground began to tremble, and Grimm’s eyes were extremely calm, waiting quietly. The lights in the Demon-Hunter Castle began to distort in an irregular state and were sucked into the crystal vessel.

Indescribable pressure was released from the crystal vessel.

In every one-eighteenth of a second, the instrument internally conducted fifty-four intense mutual repulsive energy mixing for a short period of time, and an extremely dark flame appeared.

This extremely dark flame of horrible oppression burned for only three seconds, and all the Energy Intensified Rubber Cubes inside the instrument disappeared.

With a bang, the black flame dissipated.

“The Stone of Noir Rock isn’t it either.”

Grimm murmured to himself while drawing a red cross behind the Stone of Noir Rock in the Destructive Force Experiment Notes. It was a type of alchemy synthetic material mixed with the energy of a special earth element, and a small amount of it was added in key parts of some machineries.

Rubbing his tired eyes, Grimm had not had a good rest for half a month. During this period, he only meditated a few times. Little Myna was sound asleep on the second floor, having a siesta.

The corners of his saggy eye sockets were lined with wrinkles, and there was a stream of black breath under his eyes.

This was caused by long-term exhaustion, but there was still more than twenty years before the next Demon-Hunting Expedition, so Grimm was not really bothered.

However, Grimm did feel dizzy and needed a good rest.

Putting the next material to be tested in the Destructive Energy Observation Logger, Grimm shook his groggy head and yawned, saying, “After the next two materials have been tested, it is time to have a good rest. ”

While saying so, Grimm looked at the Energy Intensified Rubber Cubes that had solidified in another Destructive Energy Observation Logger.

It was an alchemy compound called Bosse No.17. Grimm had no hope for this.

The reason was because the other serial numbers of the previous Bosses had already been tested, there were no exceptions. Bosse No.17, which had similar attributes, should have the same fate as the previous Bosse No.16.

Of course, experiments did not rely on smart guesses. Authenticity was necessary to summarize the truth of the laws of knowledge!

Glancing out of the Demon-Hunter Castle, Grimm saw that Thousand-Eyed Carcinus had gone to the Tree of Life to buy food. This was an activity Thousand-Eyed Carcinus had to do every month in order to regenerate his broken crab claws faster.

There was a Sorcerer walking in the distance with vigor. It should be a newly-advanced Demon-Hunter Sorcerer. There were countless Sorcerers, mechanical voidships, and transport slaves in the sky, casting one shadow after another in the hot midday sun.

Having exhaled deeply, Grimm felt that his spirits had been recovered a little, as he activated the Destructive Energy Observation Logger.

Rumble… Creak!

‘Hmm?’

The very first rumbles on the ground that shook everything was normal. Grimm was also waiting quietly, and the lights in the Demon-Hunter Castle began to distort in an irregular state, being sucked into the crystal vessel.

However, at the moment when the mass of Destruction Flame formed, suddenly, this Destructive Energy Observation Logger made an abnormal creaking sound.

In doubt, Grimm looked at the murky zone where the lights were sucked into. After a while, Grimm’s body jumped, only to feel goosebumps rise all over his skin, and his back lined with cold sweat.

A crack had appeared on the crystal cover seal of the Destructive Energy Observation Logger!?

That was right, it was a crack!

For a moment, Grimm felt that time seemed to have stopped, with thoughts running frantically through his head, he finally thought of a possibility. It was caused by the wear and tear of the machinery!

Any machine, anything, could never be eternal.

Even World Lords and Celestial Sorcerers, even the world itself, would die too.

For the same reason, after hundreds of years of operation, the Destructive Energy Observation Logger had also reached its limit and was about to collapse.

As for the result of the collapse of the Destructive Energy Observation Logger during a Destructive Force experiment…

“Ah! Little Myna, run!”

Grimm snarled and instinctively picked up both the Book of Truth and Destructive Force Experiment Notes on the testing bench, as he desperately rushed out of the Demon-Hunter Castle. With a bang, Grimm dashed to Millie’s Demon-Hunter Castle’s lawn.

“Caw? Master, what’s wrong?”

Little Myna was puzzled as he appeared on Grimm’s shoulder, still feeling groggy.

“Millie, run!”

While Grimm was bellowing, suddenly, a dull roar from the ground came from behind him, it was like a monster sealed in the deepest parts of the ground had awakened. An invisible shock wave made Grimm wobble where he stood, as if the entire ground had sunk a little. With a bang, Grimm fell to the ground.

“Grimm, what happened?”

Millie, who flew out of the Demon-Hunter Castle, was shocked. The insides of the Tree of Life was the safest place in the Sorcerers World, and it was a safe shelter for the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers like no other!

But now…

Around Grimm, the Sorcerers in the Demon-Hunter Castles rushed out one by one looking at Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle. All of them momentarily displayed a look of awe, and immediately retreated into a distance.

In the skies, the Sorcerers passing by had also noticed an incredible wave of energy forming on the ground, as they stopped in their flight and looked down with mouths agape.

What they saw was countless magic runes coming out from the brick walls, wooden doors, and crystal glass of Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle, as if they were trying to combat and suppress the room’s horrifying energy.

This was a defensive measure inherent in the construction of the Demon-Hunter Castle at the Holy Tower of Seven Rings.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble…

Every brick and tile of Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle was vibrating at a high frequency, and a bunch of lights around the castle began to distort. They were pulled in by a strong suction force inside the castle, forming a fantastical twisted scene.

Boom!

Suddenly, almost instantaneously, thousands of bricks and stones in Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle shattered into pieces, and the magic runes disappeared. The broken bricks and stones turned into powdery sand, and were swallowed by the black flame.

The Energy Intensified Rubber Cubes were ejected amidst the chaos, flying for thousands of kilometers and falling in all directions.

The Destructive Force had not disappeared with the Energy Intensified Rubber Cubes.

The black flame swallowed everything ruthlessly, not only everything in the Demon-Hunter Castle, but everything in Grimm’s courtyard was swallowed up. The wooden fence of the small courtyard of Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle formed a second defense.

A high-purity defensive cover completely covered the inside of the castle!

“What happened!?”

Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!

Six giant Seven Rings Snail Messengers landed from the sky, appearing in front of Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle at an incredible speed and subsequently discovered an out of control Destructive Flame.

The second defense layer, a defensive cover formed by the wooden fence of Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle, had also begun to shake violently.

The six Seven Rings Snail Messengers were shocked. They quickly stationed themselves on top of the defensive cover, strengthening it with the Force of the Seven Rings.

Gradually, they finally stabilized the defensive cover, and the Destructive Force disaster was under control.

A Seven Rings Snail Messenger looked coldly at Grimm.

“You, follow us to the Holy Tower of Seven Rings Interrogation Chamber now!”

After saying so, this Seven Rings Snail Messenger seemed to have sensed something, and was taken aback, “The Principal Will of the Sorcerers World!? This…”

Uh …

The defensive cover of the second layer of defensive measures of Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle, like a bubble in the sun, shattered.

With disheveled clothes and an aimless pair of eyes, the pale-looking Grimm trudged toward the extremely sleek hundred-meter-sized crater formed by his own Demon-Hunter Castle, as strands of his golden hair floated meekly into the depths of the crater.

“It’s gone, it’s over, there’s nothing left…”

Everything in Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle was gone, including the books in his library, the specimens collected for over hundreds of years, the two Destructive Energy Observation Loggers, thousands of Sorcerer Essences worth of experimental materials purchased from the Purple Tulip family…

There was nothing left.

Even though the path of a Sorcerer was full of difficulties and loneliness, Grimm had never once lost his confidence. He was full of hope for the path of truth to be explored in the future, as if looking for the dawn of hope in the darksome night of despair.

But at this time…

Right now!

He would have to recall his past efforts all based on his memory, and start all over again?

“Dear Rank-1 Honor Badge Demon-Hunter Sorcerer, you have caused significant damage to the Demon-Hunter Castle and have violated the laws of the Holy Tower. Please follow us to the Seven Rings Interrogation Chamber. We need your motives or reasons for this accidental disaster in order to investigate as this has caused damage to the Demon-Hunting expedition, and you are responsible for the loss.”

Another Seven Rings Snail Messenger said to Grimm who was nearing mental breakdown.

The Demon-Hunter Sorcerer Tower could provide the power to leverage the Destiny Lever of the Demon-Hunting Expedition Void Fortress. Hundreds of millions of Demon-Hunter Castles under the Tree of Life were the runes of a giant magic array.

By damaging a rune, this had indeed violated the laws of the Holy Tower.

“There’s nothing left, there’s nothing left…”

Grimm’s devastated look caused both Millie and Little Myna to stare blankly. They had never seen both such an image and look on Grimm, as if all his fighting spirit was lost.

The six Seven Rings Snail Messengers did not know what to do.

More and more Demon-Hunter Sorcerers had gathered around to investigate, and the spectating Demon-Hunter Sorcerers continued to retreat silently.

The Destruction Flame had wiped out everything in Grimm’s Demon-Hunter Castle, and there was a tiny hundred-meter-wide crater that had appeared on the ground, but it was extremely smooth with no traces of burning and melting.

Everything that disappeared was completely destroyed by the Destructive Force, not by any physical or energy attack.

“Grimm, you…”

Millie stood on the edge of the giant crater where the Destructive Force had dissipated, with her eyes being both moist and sympathetic. Filled with indescribable shame, looking at the bottom of the giant crater while sitting on the ground, Grimm seemed to be wallowing in extremely low spirits.

Suddenly, the scattered strands of golden silky hair at the bottom of the giant crater were trembling, causing the sobbing Grimm to strangely quieten down.

Slowly, he picked up a broken branch from the ground with his right hand.

In the broken branch that was not consumed by the Destructive Force, the strange Thunder Energy within had been taken over by a weak Destructive Force!
