Failing, again, again, and again…

For the experiment of searching for the Destructive Force carrier alone, Grimm had to face failure dozens of times every day. This was the “failed life” Grimm had been accustomed to, and he had gone through hundreds of years of that.

For the people who only saw Grimm’s success and charm, how could they know how much effort Grimm had put in?

Loneliness, tiredness, hopeless depression and despair were like an enormous mountain standing in front of Grimm, but Grimm could only chop down the branches of the vast amount of trees on that said mountain, forcing himself to move forward little by little, and look for the dawn behind the extremely high mountain.

The process of going through endless failure to seek the truth, was all recorded in the Book of Truth that Grimm had accumulated day after day.

“Wah hoo hoo hoo! You lost my Enigma No.1! Give me back my Enigma No.1! I want my Enigma No.1 right now, boo hoo hoo!”

Little Myna was standing on the testing bench, crying with sorrow and sadness, and rolling desperately in deep pain on the testing bench. His wing was pointed at Grimm as if he was going to fight with him.

Grimm who attempted to complete an advanced chimera experiment using level two Fusion Natural Souls created by the Abyssal Tree of Soul Fusion had failed!

He rubbed his eyebrows dejectedly, withholding the tiredness and disappointment in his heart. As Grimm forced a smile, he coaxed Little Myna.

“Ah, I accidentally failed, hahahaha. Actually, you see, this Enigma No.2 is also very interesting, much like the mud beast you used to have. Wow! Look, it can also poop and vomit. So smelly… ”

A pool of liquid was gushing out, as Enigma No.2 was suddenly experiencing diarrhea, and its slurry of excrement flowed along the experiment table and onto the ground.

Grimm covered his nose and shouted at the door, “Rabu! Come here and handle this, and bring some perfume!”

The chimera evolution experiment had failed.

As Grimm had activated the Mana Pool in the Burrow World, even with the protection of Bone Bell Tower Stigmata Sorcerer, he had lost the extra Soulfires during his time as an official Sorcerer as a price.

Therefore, at this time, Grimm only had the Elemental Creature Summoning Sorcery, research about chimeras, and finally these two Soul Control Seeds.

After a long-term research of the Destructive Force experiment, Grimm thought of alleviating the atmosphere of failure at first, adjusting his long-term life of fatigue and boredom. He said a lot of good things just to coax Little Myna into giving him Enigma No.1 so that he could retrieve the Soul Control Seed, with which he could try and start the Enigma No.2 experiment.

But the experiment ended up as a failure.

This was depressing for Little Myna who had a tendency to collect little brothers as a kind of hobby. Little Myna was throwing a tantrum, just like the crazy rural psycho who Grimm saw when he was a kid.

Little Myna skillfully avoided Enigma No.2’s excrement slurry, all the while still crying and pointing angrily at Grimm.

“Boo hoo hoo hoo, who wants this stinky fellow! Activated cell conflicts resulted in less than 2 points of constitution. They not only do not have any ability, but also accelerate cell aging and death due to structural conflicts in the body. I don’t want this short-lived failure that might even die tomorrow, boo hoo hoo hoo! I want my Enigma No.1! ”

On one side, Rabu was quickly handling and cleaning up the mess made by Enigma No.1, while spraying some kind of bottled fragrance in the laboratory. On the other side, Grimm continued to appease Little Myna.

“You can’t just look at the failure of Enigma No.2. In fact, you can see that it still has its own advantages.”

“What are the advantages?”

The question from Little Myna actually made Grimm frightened. What were the advantages of this experimental failure?

His eyes darted around fretfully as Grimm was not able to say a single word in return. After an awkward silence had permeated the air, Grimm abruptly laughed and said, “Look, its big eyes are very bright and pure. So bright, cute, and sparkly! ”

Rabu, the intelligent Mechanical Marionette who was cleaning the room, suddenly added, “Master, that’s because it has no knowledge whatsoever.”

Even so, after Little Myna turned around slowly, he looked at the big shiny eyes of Enigma No.2.

These big eyes, they seemed like…

“Caw!?”

All of a sudden, Little Myna screamed, and Grimm had a bad feeling deep down. It turned out that the cell conflict in this failed enigma had reached its peak, and the soft body began to shake violently as it was on the verge of collapse.

“Oh…”

Grimm turned around, feeling haggard.

With a barely audible puff, with Enigma No.2’s body’s violent tremors, it collapsed entirely as if it were a sludge clinging onto the table, returning to a state of activated cells.

“Wah hoo hoo hoo! See, now it doesn’t even have those shiny and innocent big eyes! Give me back my Enigma No.1, give me back my Enigma No.1, I want my Enigma No.1! Wah hoo hoo hoo. ”

Grimm forcefully withstood the irritation that was rising in him, keeping his temper in check. He continued to appease Little Myna, saying, “Hahaha, Enigma No.1 is done for. How about this, I will give you an Enigma No.3, okay?”

“No! I want my Enigma No.1, I…”

Bang!

Grimm fiercely slammed his hands onto the experiment table. Jingle-jangle, cling-clang, the props on the experiment table rocked about with the force. At the same time, Little Myna covered his mouth with his two wings, and he was afraid to say another word.

Rabu, on one side, also jumped with the thump, seeming to be startled.

“Hmph! This didn’t work, that didn’t work either, let me be your little brother instead.”

Grimm said grimly.

“Uh… okay.”

Little Myna was silent for a moment. He seemed to be unable to believe Grimm’s decision so he agreed, dumbfounded as he was.

“Okay!? Okay… What okay!?”

Grimm was so angry that he shouted at the motionless Rabu, “What are you looking at?! Are you a low-level intelligence or high-level intelligence, an evolutionary anthropomorphic? Clean up the house and get out!”

“Ah! Yes, Master!”

Rabu ran out with squeaking sounds, he seemed to be scared of Grimm who was slightly irritated today, and no longer wanted to stay in the laboratory for even a second longer.

Grimm turned his head, looking at Little Myna on the experiment table who did not dare to look at Grimm, and exhaled.

“Hmm hmm, I’ve decided!”

Little Myna trembled and asked, “Decided what?”

Grimm’s wrinkled face started to become dark, with a slight hint of evil, making Little Myna a little puzzled. He could not help but step back instinctively and hit a large specimen container.

“That… Master, what are you trying to do? Let’s talk this through.”

Grimm suddenly smiled strangely, “Hmm, mhmm, I have decided. The next time I return from the Demon-Hunting expedition, I will synthesize you a Great… Enigmatic… Kichiku Lord!”

“Great Enigmatic Kichiku Lord!?”

Little Myna stood up with a shout. His eyes sparkled as if he had seen something.

A Kichiku referred to a cruel and ruthless creature like a devil beast that attacked the body and cruelly tortured the spirit of its opponents. It originated from an evil version of the Bardic poet’s novel.
