Chapter 478: Laws of the Abyss

“Hehe, interesting…”

Grimm looked at the Noble who was charging at him heedlessly. The Noble easily broke through the perimeter set up by layers of Abyssal Demons. He laughed beneath the Mask of Truth.

“Didn’t the World Guardian refuse to invoke the power of the world at me a century ago in front of the world gate due to my weakness? But now, to kill someone as insignificant as me by manifesting the world’s will. Hehehehe, how interesting.”

Behind Grimm, a screech could be heard. Millie’s phoenix spread its twenty-over meter wings and appeared amongst a flower of snowflakes.

The was a concerned look on her face. Millie looked at the charging Acraepoid Noble and called out, “Grimm, now is not the time for jokes!”

For low-level Sorcerers, the rules of the world were far beyond them.

Without realizing it, Claudia, whose face had turned pale took a few steps back to get away from the enemy of this world, Grimm.

Solumn and Wicky were still in disbelief.

The only difference was that Solumn was hesitant while Wicky was excited!

It was only natural…

The power of the world had always been invoked by the World Guardians to fight high-level World Lords. They leveraged on the power of the world’s Principal Will itself. Yet now, this power was being used against a Level-1 Sorcerer. Most people had never even experienced the power of a world’s will, how could it not be exciting?

Woosh!

It was a fifteen-meter long abyssal fish with fat and tumorous layers all over its body. The surface of its skin was covered by seaweeds and algae that had been tainted by the Abyss Moss. A dark, abyssal breath was encircling it.

The strange-looking fish and three other abyssal monsters charged at the Acraepoid Noble.

Swoosh!

A bright golden light pierced through the sky with a single strike. The four huge Abyssal Demons were sliced into two, their wounds blazing in a golden hue which was eating up their abyssal flesh.

As strong as these Abyssal Demons were, their wounds could not heal fast enough after being dismembered by the power of the world. It was certain death.

The Acraepoid Noble had been possessed by the Principal Will of the world. His own will gradually disappeared. What remained of his body was his incessant pursuit in the art of the Infernal swords. There was no longer any hesitation in the strokes of his blade.

Like a brilliant sun who was about to cleanse the dark, abyssal demon cloud that was Grimm.

The two black flames in the eye sockets of his Sabbatic Goat Staff were still burning furiously. Grimm’s gentle wave of the staff sent a ripple of the Principal Will of the Sorcerers World. Tens of thousands of Abyssal Demons charged at the Acraepoid Noble with no regard for their own lives.

Even the sun could be covered by the clouds!

Even the world’s power could be eroded by the torrents of the abyssal powers!

“Damn it, you devil…”

The golden sun was no longer shining bright. Although the Acraepoid Noble was able to take down thousands of Abyssal Demons, it was insignificant compared to Grimm’s ability that could summon millions of them.

He had not even mobilized the tens of thousands of his most elite Abyssal Demons that formed a perimeter around him like a vortex.

Like a minion that was sent by the Demon King to peek at the glory of the human race, Grimm reached out his hand that represented the greed of the devils toward the Acraepoid Noble, who was consumed by the tide of Abyssal Demons. He slowly closed his hand.

Beneath the Mask of Truth was a sense of tranquility. The flames in his eyes turned into two long slits. Grimm’s voice was hoarse. “Devil… whatever you say.”

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh…

The reinforcement of Acraepoid Commanders and Warriors had arrived. A slight glance revealed that they made up only a small number of the reinforcement. Most of the Acraepoids had fled and were being hunted down by the Abyssal Demons. It was an instinctive move for any humanoid.

These reinforcements were just moth to the flame.

Little Myna whispered on Grimm’s shoulder. “They sure have a deathwish. If the Ancient Phaseless Demons could be killed in such a stupid way, the Ancient Sorcerers would not have been defeated.”

As soon as the Myna finished its words.

The abyssal cloud that seemed like dead water started to rage violently, spinning wildly around a golden ray of sun. Abyssal Demon Clouds gathered from all directions and poured into the Acraepoid Noble like a funnel.

It was the laws of the abyss!

The world no longer belonged to the laws of the Infernal Spirit! The world was now ruled by the laws of the abyss!

Sorcerers were now the real master protected by this world!

“Arghh…”

The vortex funnel was not only pouring down at the Acraepoid Noble. Even the hundreds of Commanders and Warriors that came in to help were inflicted by the abyssal vortex as well.

Moments later, the Acraepoids in the vortex were torn into tiny pieces of flesh. Their remains became the best nutrients for the Abyss Moss of the world.

“This!?”

Wicky was about to reveal his trump card when he saw how easily Grimm had managed the terrifying ordeal. Looking at Grimm’s eyes beneath the Mask of Truth that was calm as if he had planned all of it, a sense of fear appeared in his heart.

If he had such powers, why go through all the trouble of assembling the four of them to get the Infernal Spirit Scripture?

Could it be that there were certain limitations to the abyssal summoning skill? Was the Sorcerers World research into the subject premature?

Without realizing it, Claudia had inched closer to Grimm once again as if she had never left. Compared to the other three, Claudia knew more about the abyssal summoning.

The Abyssal Demons at the Arctic Tundra of the Infernal Spirit World were very hostile toward the Sorcerers unlike now, where the sorcerers were feared, not to mention Grimm’s mastery of the abyssal summoning.

Solumn disengaged her body’s transformation. She quietly looked at Grimm without a word.

Solumn and Millie were some of Grimm’s best friends during their apprenticeship years. Ever since they began their peaceful journeys as apprentices, from the beginning until the turbulent expedition years, they had been together along the way.

In the future, this guy might really have a chance of becoming a Stigmata Sorcerer…

A brief moment later.

After the Acraepoids were torn into pieces by the laws of the abyss, the vortex gradually withdrew. The world was once again covered by an endless abyssal cloud that dimmed the sky. Not even a trace of sunlight could seep through the cloud layers.

A few abyssal breaths started to rise up like smoke, spreading out under the world covered in abyssal clouds.

The fleeing Acraepoids were eaten up by the Abyssal Demons. After taking it all in within the encirclement of tens of thousands of Abyssal Demons, Grimm waved his staff in another direction like a death-bidding Grim Reaper.

Rumble…

The massive numbers of Abyssal Demons were gliding on in the air and running on the grounds, heading toward the direction willed by Grimm.

On top of a strange-looking large abyssal beast, Grimm, Solumn, Wicky, Millie, and Claudia looked back at the ground where the short battle had taken place.

It was covered in Acraepoid blood.

The blood and dismembered bodies of the Acraepoids were now the best nutrition for the Abyss Moss. In such a short period of time, new Abyss Moss had started to grow sparingly from the old moss.

When the quake had turned the land over, allowing Abyss Mosses to burrow themselves in the soil, this world would never return to the Infernal Spirit World it once was even if the Sorcerers were to be defeated, and the Acraepoids were able to restore their rule.

It was just like the underground Dragon Hunting Abyss of the Sorcerers World.
