Chapter 472: Abyssalized Soul Tree

Grimm and Claudia were being tracked closely by the Broodmothers as they rushed into the Abyssal Cloud.

The toxicity of the Abyssal Cloud at the Arctic Tundra had now become incredibly high, and Grimm estimated severe abyssalization on lifeforms that were below 10 degrees of constitution and without any protection method.

It seemed like the breakdown of the ecosystem was inevitable!

Indeed, it was very difficult to search for the specimen of the world’s original Soul Tree in such a place.

“This is the Wind Valley, where the topographical arrangement of the area has caused the Abyssal Cloud to cover the area with poisonous abyssal haze that has also contributed to the evolution of some powerful Abyssal Creatures; therefore, it would be better to fly at a higher altitude when passing through the area.”

Claudia frowned and warned Grimm as she saw that he had already trespassed into the haze that had limited his visibility to only about tens of meters ahead.

“Huh!? Master, the surroundings are filled with enemies…”

Grimm shook his head and let out a sigh saying, “The target that I am looking for is here.”

Claudia heard Grimm and nodded after a short pause, and followed him into the dangerous area that was being heavily covered in haze.

About half an hourglass later.

Buzz…

A buzzing sound that seemed to come from flying wings of insects was heard, and there seemed to be an enormous amount of insects nearby.

Without knowing how the insects had managed to detect both Grimm and Claudia in the surroundings that were heavily covered in haze, Little Myna let out a great scream as he was frightened by an Abyssal Insect, it seemed to have a skeletal body as it was flapping its wings covered with brightly colored stripes, and there were two widely opened mouths on both its tail and head that looked intimidating.

“Why do these mutated insects look similar to the Poisonous Twisted Tortoise?”

Little Myna had no idea what the red scorpions that came out from Claudia’s skin were.

All of a sudden.

Grimm and Claudia sensed the vibration on the ground and both of them reacted immediately by flying up high. A giant green worm drilled out from underneath the ground and made its way out, it was about few meters in width and seemed like a gigantic earthworm, the black horn on top of its head let out a strange cry with twisted waves and it sucked in an enormous amount of mutated insects that dropped into its mouth.

“Hmm, even at the Arctic Tundra of the Infernal Spirit World, the level of abyssal pollution is much greater than the Dark Destroyer Kingdom from before.”

Grimm murmured to himself and looked at the black horn that was on the head of the gigantic Abyssal Creature that looked like a giant earthworm, it was releasing uncommon sound waves that might have some research values.

“Hehe, Master Grimm, it will only belong to you if you can get it first.”

Claudia instantly noticed the same black horn and immediately took out a refined and compact green-coloured bottle from her chest, it was similar to a necklace.

Suddenly, Grimm felt space fluctuations from above!

“Hmm? Dimensional apparatus!”

Grimm was shocked for a short while by what he saw and he continued in a deep voice, “You stand no chance.”

After saying so, both Grimm and Claudia rushed down towards the same direction…

Fifteen days later.

Grimm did not have any findings from the past fifteen days of searching around the Wind Valley, there were hardly any original lifeforms of the Infernal Spirit World that were unaffected by the abyssalization, and all of the Tree of Souls had been completely abyssalized.

“Why is there no clue yet?”

Grimm was a little depressed as he groaned and said, “The original botanical specimen was in this area, however, they have now been heavily abyssalized, perhaps there is no more hope left.”

The Wind Valley had been filled with unusually emaciated plants that seemed fierce and threatening as they had been completely abyssalized by abyssal energy.

“Oh.”

Claudia nodded as she understood Grimm’s despair.

If it were not because of his unexpected departure from the Infernal Spirit World, Grimm might have already collected the plant specimens that he had wanted.

However, only Grimm, the great and secretive Level-1 Demon-Hunter, would dare to roam the foreign world alone without the influence of the Sorcerer’s Will in the area.

“Huh? Master, why not try to collect some of the abyssalized specimens?”

“Hmm?”

Little Myna’s suggestion sparked an idea in Grimm’s head!

Grimm was stunned for a short while.

Yes, why not give the abyssalized Soul Tree a try; perhaps, the specimen would now meet Grimm’s special requirement better?

Grimm had unintentionally framed himself in his own perception, he turned around and looked at the trees that looked fierce and threatening.

The first time that Grimm had found the Soul Tree was when it was intentionally cultivated by Acraepoids in the Burrow World, the branches were covered by a layer of cuticles that was formed from a mixture of crystal glass combined with metal, and it was highly resistant to impact; however, it had poor resistance towards differences in temperatures.

There was a giant dark-red ball on the top part of the cuticle, it was a little soft in texture and showed slight movements of wiggling.

Grimm’s aim was within it, he was planning to merge various souls together to form a Soul Crystal by utilizing the consistent interchange of hot and cold temperature.

It was his plan to use the external energy merged along with the method on the Elemental Natural Soul.

Grimm landed onto the ground and stepped onto the Abyssal Mosses while they cried out in their squeaky voices.

Roar!

A giant spider howled at Grimm in a screeching voice while all of the eyes behind its back were slightly opened and facing towards him, the skin and shape of its body were like black rubber.

“Master, go, finish it!”

Grimm ignored Little Myna’s yell and let out a growl while the energy in the surroundings changed.

The Abyssal Creature seemed to be frightened by Grimm’s ferocious aura and immediately drew in all ten of its legs and shrunk into a smaller size to escape.

Grimm came to a small area of the Soul Tree.

The trees were no longer the same, thorns were all over the trees and they were releasing an unusual smell, although Grimm was able to sense the smell with his Canine Olfactory Sorcery; however, it did not match with any of the records from the Scent Archives.

Also, the smell had attracted a lot of abyssal insects nearby to lie on the trees.

After a short pause, Grimm had an idea, he drew out the dimensional gap and took out a golden beetle that was sealed frozen, he spoke calmly, “Although it is a mutated insect under the abyssal environment, however, to be compared with insects that have control on the evolution of insects of the entire world, there is still a big gap in between them within their own food chain evolution stages.”

Indeed, the abyssal planktons scattered as soon as the golden beetle was awakened, it was similar to the scene from a historical novel that was named “The breath of a king”.

Grimm retrieved and put away the golden beetle.

A moment later, Grimm took out a Soul Crystal from one of the abyssal Soul Trees, while a delighted and surprised expression was seen on his face under his Mask of Truth.
