Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

It should be a thrilling battle.

Before the fight began, Fang Guozhen was already looking forward to it.

At this moment, he turned back toward the direction of the Imperial Palace, muttering, ”It’s been so long, why haven’t they taken action yet?”

Outside the Imperial Palace at that moment.

Chen Jie and Liu Futong were standing in the darkness, as the sky had begun to drizzle.

Feeling the raindrops, Liu Futong was a bit anxious, saying, ”Why haven’t they taken action? Could something have gone wrong?”

Chen Jie was equally anxious, but managed to calm himself, at least outwardly not appearing too tense. Chen Jie then said to Liu Futong, ”Don’t worry, there shouldn’t be any problems.”

Upon hearing this, Liu Futong said, ”Sure, I know, but attacking the Imperial Palace does make me a bit nervous.”

Chen Jie replied, ”Even you get nervous, Big Brother?”

Liu Futong chuckled bitterly, ”It depends on the opponent. This time, the opponent is an Earthly Immortal. Aren’t you nervous facing an Earthly Immortal?”

Chen Jie looked at Liu Futong and said, ”Haha, yes, I’m nervous too.”

With those words, Liu Futong and Chen Jie exchanged glances and smiled at each other.

The feeling of tension gradually decreased, and suddenly the sky thundered loudly, followed by raindrops falling more intensely.

Chen Jie reached out to catch a raindrop and said, ”It’s raining.”

Hearing this, Liu Futong replied, ”Yes, it’s raining.”

Meanwhile, inside the Imperial City walls, a slab of bluestone was gently lifted, and a shadow quietly emerged from the corner.

Then, rolling smoothly, he directly rolled into the corner.

He crouched in the corner, listening, like a nimble mouse.

In the pitch-black moonlight, he saw a pair of Imperial City guards in the distance, who were cursing the drizzling weather for troubling them.

Someone said, ”This damned weather, let’s finish patrolling quickly and find a place to take shelter.”

”Exactly, exactly. Who would be idle enough to break into the palace gate at this time?”

”Exactly, exactly. The Daqian has stood for a hundred years, and this palace gate has never been opened. Relax, this is the Great Capital, with the State Preceptor presiding. Who would dare to storm the Imperial Palace here, not fearing the State Preceptor’s wrath?”

As the guards chatted on, suddenly a lightning flash lit up the figure crouched in the corner.

Startled, the figure thought he was surely about to be exposed. Yet to his surprise, the soldiers didn’t even glance his way, swaggering past.

The figure crouching in the corner shook his head, thinking these guards were too complacent, scaring him unnecessarily!

Then he waved his hand, and the bluestone was completely lifted, allowing a group of short figures in black to rush in.

The first to emerge gestured towards the main gate.

The group instantly understood and soon stormed toward the gate. The Dragon-breaking Gate had been lowered, making it difficult to open without assistance.

The group reached the gate, and with a cracking sound, they lifted the door bolt wrapped with outer space meteorite iron.

The sound instantly startled the two guards at the gatehouse, but before they could react, their mouths were covered. Feeling dazed, a knife lightly slit their throats, sending them to meet King Yan moments later.

The Thick Earth disciples exchanged glances and nodded to depart.

Though they usually appeared discreet, seeming only adept at digging tunnels, it was a mistake to underestimate them.

Besides the aforementioned skills, Thick Earth Banner also excelled at assassination!

Their skilled movements were seamless. You might think the handkerchief was ordinary, but it was specially soaked and infused with Datura flower and related materials to create Knockout Drug. Covering the mouth would cause immediate disorientation, followed swiftly by a clean, lethal strike.

The Thick Earth Banner handled the gate guards swiftly, then opened the Dragon-breaking Gate, allowing the closed Imperial City Gate to be pushed open.

As the Royal Guard who had patrolled the area heard the sound of the heavy gate hinge, turning around, their heads nearly exploded!

Unexpectedly, a group of bandits had opened the palace gate.

Instant panic overwhelmed them. According to Daqian law, if the palace gate was opened before 3 to 5 AM, the guards on duty would be executed without question!

Now the gate was unexpectedly opened by bandits, signaling certain death.

Yet they had to report it, because failing to report would lead to extermination of their entire clans.

Knowing their fate was sealed, they had to open the palace gate!

With that thought, the Royal Guard immediately began sounding the alarm, shouting, ”Help, intruders!”

Bang bang bang bang!

The intense sound of the gong quickly spread throughout the Imperial City, immediately rallying the guards to rush forward.

At the gate, Thick Earth Banner Master Yan Heng took out the signal arrow, his face lighting up with surprise. He hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly, and he fired the Cloud Piercing Arrow.
