Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Not to mention these subordinates—even Liu Futong itself was stunned for quite a while, thinking, since when did the Ming King ever say something this reasonable?

When Liu Futong thought of Han Shantong, all that came to mind was his bold, unrestrained image, and him shouting, ”Kill the barbarians, grab money, grab land, grab women!”

Now that sounded more like something their Ming King would say.

This ”Drive out the barbarians, restore our Huaxia,” though simple, spelled out exactly what they were going to do, and it rolled right off the tongue. They could easily pass this slogan down and make it the official slogan of their Zoroastrian Sect; it was absolutely fitting.

Once he figured that out, Liu Futong quietly made up his mind: whether or not Han Shantong had actually said it, from now on this sentence was going to be credited to Han Shantong.

Fang Guozhen understood Han Shantong fairly well, and naturally knew the man did not have the wisdom to come up with such words. So this line was, with high probability, thought up by Fourth Brother—no need to say it, that little head of his is just plain clever.

Thinking so, Fang Guozhen took another bite of watermelon, his face full of smiles. His younger brother had earned them face, and he himself shared in that glory.

”Alright, alright, what Jiu Si just said is very true. We must keep our Sect Hierarch’s teaching firmly in mind: drive out the barbarians, restore our Huaxia!”

At this moment Liu Futong stepped up, hastily nailing down the verdict, hanging this badass line firmly on his Sect Hierarch’s head to win people’s hearts.

Right after, Liu Futong continued, ”Alright, our Dharma King has finished his introduction. Next, let’s introduce the heroes attending today’s gathering.”

Hearing this, the people below immediately started looking around at one another, and then Liu Futong said, ”Heroes whose names I call, please stand up and greet everyone.”

Liu Futong spoke: ”Representative of the Southern Red Cloth from Jinan, Tang Shengzong.”

A man stood up at this, cupped his fists, and said, ”Heroes, greetings.”

”Hua Yunlong of Jining Prefecture.”

”Heroes, greetings.”

”Guo Xing, Wang Zhi, Wu Liang, Zhao Yong, Fei Ju, Hua Yun...”

Hero after hero was introduced, and he directly ran through all the direct lineage of the Northern Red Scarf. Hearing these names, Chen Jie couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion—none of them were nobodies. Many among them were future founding ministers under Old Zhu.

And all of them at Duke Level; one look and you knew this was a group with serious strength.

Gathered together, these men formed a considerable force; after all, they were all well-known tough fellows.

Quite a few of these names Chen Jie had heard before in TV dramas.

For example, this Tang Shengzong would later be granted the title of Marquis, though he would unfortunately be caught up in the Hu Weiyong case and become a sacrifice.

Thinking of this, Chen Jie looked around at the crowd; the crowd also cupped their fists one by one. At this point, they were not yet the future founding dukes of the realm—more than anything, they were men of burning blood, Red Turban Army leaders rising in revolt.

Everyone reported their names one by one, and in the end also reported the troops they had brought.

Counting only elite troops, these Red Turban Army forces had brought more than thirty thousand men—a not insignificant power—and among them, nearly three thousand had already infiltrated the Capital City.

In other words, there were three thousand Red Turban Army soldiers inside the Great Capital itself.

When the crowd heard this, a wave of astonishment ran through them; they hadn’t expected that within the Great Capital there were actually so many heroic figures.

Thinking along these lines, Chen Jie and Liu Futong exchanged a glance, both feeling that their surprise attack on the Imperial Palace was now as good as guaranteed.

After hearing all this, Liu Futong looked at Chen Jie and asked, ”Fourth Brother, what’s your take?”

Chen Jie said, ”Now that we have so many men and horses, we mustn’t waste them lightly. Big Brother, send word down: the three thousand troops inside the city will follow us in storming the Imperial Palace and create an overwhelming momentum.”

”As for the thirty thousand outside the city, have them split off two thousand to enter the city and follow Brother Chongba to attack the Heavenly Prison, making a big show of it. The rest will follow Third Brother to seize one of the Great Capital’s gates at night, and once our business is done, the troops are to pull out immediately and leave the city at once, without any delay.”

Having heard this, Liu Futong nodded in understanding. ”Mm, I got it.”

Following Chen Jie’s instructions, Liu Futong arranged everything at once. The crowd had no objections and all moved according to the plan.

Thus this grand meeting was considered concluded, and once it ended, everyone immediately went off to make preparations.

At this time Chen Jie again sat down with Fang Guozhen, Liu Futong, and Zhu Yuanzhang to re-run their plan.

The plan was very simple: tomorrow, first Zhu Yuanzhang would lead a force to attack the Heavenly Prison, drawing a crowd’s attention. The key point was to pin Dharma Ba down at the Heavenly Prison, preventing them from going to the Imperial Palace to cause trouble.

At the same time, they would draw the city’s troops over. Next was the South City Gate: at that time, Fang Guozhen would lead the troops of the Five Elements Flag, together with the main force of the Red Turban Army mingled outside the city, to block Boluo Timur’s planned entry into the city. Why strike at the South City? Because Boluo Timur’s Treasure Elephant Army main camp was in the southern suburbs.

That is to say, if trouble broke out inside the city and the Treasure Elephant Army wanted to rush to the rescue at the first possible moment, the fastest route was through the South City Gate. By then they’d run smack into Fang Guozhen’s men, and breaking away would no longer be easy.

Beyond that was the final leg: the Imperial Palace operation. The Imperial Palace team would be led mainly by Liu Futong, whose job was to draw Basiba out. A nameless nobody could never manage that, but Liu Futong matched the criteria Chen Jie had in mind perfectly.

With Melt God Fourth Transformation cultivation, even though he was still considered Low-level, it was more than enough for him to be unmatched within the Imperial Palace. At that point the palace would inevitably call for help, and once the message reached the Living Buddha, he would have to come to the rescue.

As for Chen Jie, he himself was a mobile piece; once inside the Imperial Palace, he’d see where he was needed and then make his move.

Of course, there was one more thing he hadn’t mentioned—that this trip into the Imperial Palace also involved a little private scheme of his own. After all, he knew a rather astonishing piece of information.
