Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

”Daqian belongs to the Borjigit Clan. If a Mulan becomes the Emperor, then it is no longer Daqian. So, Lord State Preceptor, are you supporting the Mulan State or solely the Borjigit Clan’s empire?”

”You must think this through carefully!”

Ruyang King looked at Basiba, who remained silent.

Ruyang King continued, ”The Vassal King stabilizes the borders, not primarily against the Han, but also suppresses powerful ministers. The State Preceptor has supported the country for a century. You cannot be unaware of the purpose of the Heavenly Khan when he established the Vassal King to guard the borders?”

”Civil servants tackle outsiders; if civil servants grow strong, then the Vassal King suppresses them. This was the Heavenly Khan’s goal.”

”Now, Tuotuo controls the civil affairs single-handedly. If the Vassal King is also removed, is this kingdom still ours, the Borjigit Clan’s?”

”And on the day Tuotuo ascends to the throne, who will the Lord State Preceptor be? The State Preceptor or someone else?”

Ruyang King didn’t press too hard, yet Basiba fell into deep contemplation. He is strong, a martial arts genius rarely seen in a century, but when it comes to politics, he is somewhat naive.

He was swayed by Ruyang King’s words.

However, he recalled the scene of Daqian’s downfall he saw in the Dream Skill, where change might bring a slim chance of survival, but stagnation ensures certain death.

He has a strong belief in the Dream Skill of their Buddhist sect.

Moreover, this Dream Skill has a legendary origin. It is said that in Ancient Times, Taoist Ancestor Hong Jun set the Six Saint Fruit Positions. Nuwa became a saint through the merits of creating beings and mending the sky, and The Three Pure Ones became saints through the merits of establishing teachings.

Only the two saints of Western Teaching lacked sufficient merit. They had no choice but to make vows in dreams, pledging eight hundred grand vows, eventually gathering enough merit to become saints.

This method of making vows in dreams passed down through the ages, gradually losing its original powerful divine skills, leaving only dream divination.

This is today’s Dream Skill.

Basiba saw the scene of Daqian’s downfall through Dream Skill and believed Daqian needed to change, and when Tuotuo approached him, claiming he could lead that change, Basiba trusted him.

But now, swayed by Ruyang King’s words, Basiba began to have doubts.

Indeed, what he protects is the realm of the Borjigit Clan. If it were replaced by anyone else, would it still require his protection?

Nevertheless, Basiba refuses to abandon his ideas easily, and since Tuotuo promised him, the plan is already at hand. Basiba wants Tuotuo to give it a try, as Tuotuo bears half of the National Fortune, and National Fortune does not lie.

Basiba looked at Ruyang King and said, ”Perhaps I am wrong, but I wish to try.”

Ruyang King looked at Basiba and asked, ”Does the State Preceptor intend to use Daqian’s National Fortune to try?”

Basiba looked up at Ruyang King and replied, ”The strength of the Vassal King is indeed too great, affecting the court; cutting it down is right.”

”But should powerful ministers be left unchecked?”

Upon hearing this, Basiba pondered momentarily and said, ”Let’s not talk about them for now. Let’s talk about you. Under what conditions would you willingly relinquish your military power?”

”Heh, I think Tuotuo has not been idle these days; he should have gone to Jiangnan to reclaim my military power. Does my willingness matter?”

”Willingness and forceful confiscation are different; the attitude of the soldiers below will also be different.”

Upon hearing this, Ruyang King said, ”If you wish for me to willingly relinquish military power, it’s simple; ask Your Majesty to issue a decree stating the reduction of vassals, and I will immediately kneel and express gratitude!”

Upon hearing this, Basiba thought for a moment and said, ”Do you think Your Majesty will not issue such a decree? You know the affair between your daughter and that Han Chen, Chen Jiusi, has reached the Emperor’s ears, causing His Majesty embarrassment. Cannot His Majesty confiscate your military power?”

Upon hearing this, Ruyang King said, ”Heh, His Majesty knows the importance of things, so Lord State Preceptor, if you want me to willingly relinquish power, please have His Majesty issue a decree!”

Upon hearing this, Basiba furrowed his brows!
