Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 328: Chapter 138 Wife: Husband, my husband is alright, isn’t he?

Splash, splash...

The sound of rippling water reached his ears, and Chen Jie rushed over to the source, which lay in the backyard of the Yihong House.

The Yihong House’s backyard boasted a high-end hot spring pool.

The pool water was comfortably warm, and within it, a waterwheel had been installed to channel the freshest warm water into a nearby luxurious outdoor bath.

However, this place was not open to the public, reserved for the exclusive enjoyment of the Yihong Building Owner and Qiao Hongyan.

The sound that Chen Jie heard was the working of the waterwheel in that pool.

When Chen Jie charged over, he saw a tall courtyard wall and immediately leaped toward the top of the wall.

Just as he peeked over, he suddenly saw a group of women standing in the courtyard, holding bath combs and soap pods, attending to a woman bathing in the pool.

The woman was seated in the hot spring, with only her snowy-white shoulders exposed.

Meanwhile, three beautiful women frolicked in the water, scattering petals like maids serving the bathing woman.

And the one enjoying the bath was none other than Qiao Hongyan, one of the Thirteen Grand Protectors, and the ones tossing the petals in the water were the Four Great Courtesans, whom countless men in the Yihong House coveted.

Yet now they were serving the woman before them like common servants.

Women love watching petals fall into the water while soaking in hot springs, so they were tasked with scattering petals, seemingly admiring, seemingly contemplative.

Chen Jie landed on the wall, and just as his feet touched it, the bather, Qiao Hongyan, seemed to sense something and looked over.

Her hand rested on a Soft Sword nearby, her gaze laced with murderous intent: who dares to peep at me bathing?

Chen Jie was startled, but just then, a hand suddenly reached out and yanked him down from the wall.

”Who!”

Chen Jie was alarmed: who was it? He was unable to muster any strength when he was grabbed, feeling as though even an Energy Transformation Master would not have such strength.

In that hand, he felt as helpless as a small chick without the ability to resist.

Chen Jie was astonished.

But then he heard a voice: ”Shush, silence!”

Chen Jie looked and was even more surprised to see the blind man he had seen earlier. Now, he was half-reclining on a boulder in the garden, his gaze piercing through a group of maids, falling precisely on Qiao Hongyan in the pool.

”Huh?”

Chen Jie was dumbfounded: a blind man... peeping at a woman bathing??

This seemed highly incongruous.

”You can see?”

The blind man replied, ”I can see, yes!”

”Then you...”

Chen Jie pointed at the blind man’s attire. The blind man took off his sunglasses and pointed to his eyes—Chen Jie saw they were indeed sightless.

The blind man chuckled: ”The fleshly eyes cannot see, but my Eye of Mind can.”

”Eye of Mind?”

Chen Jie looked puzzled at the blind man, who explained: ”The fleshly eyes see the mundane world; the Eye of Mind sees the universe.”

”Uh, so you are here watching the universe?”

Chen Jie asked the blind man, who replied: ”Wrong, I’m watching women.”

”Uh... so you can still see them?”

Chen Jie said.

The blind man said, ”You, you’re still too weak, like a newborn child. There are many things in this world you don’t know about yet. For example, I blinded my own eyes in exchange for the Heavenly Secret. Haha, better than the gods, understand?”

”Uh, I don’t get it. How does that relate to you watching women bathe?”

”Ignorant, forget it. Let’s not talk about this. The future is all Heavenly Secret. Me watching women is also part of Heavenly Secret. For instance, when I tell you ’water begets life,’ I’m here to bring you a thread of life.”

”Uh, you complete your divinations by yourself?”

”Is there a problem? Under the heavens, I am also one of the living. Me bringing you a thread of life is also the will of heaven, isn’t it?”

”Yes, yes, whatever you say is right. But what should I do now? With Qiao Hongyan in front and Qin Ying chasing me, do you have the power to take on both?”

The blind man heard him and said, ”Fight? Why fight?”

”If we don’t fight, how will you save me? Or is your thread of life a fallacious hope?”

”Nonsense, my divination is unmatched, and I’ve never been wrong.”

Then, the blind man said, ”You don’t need to move. See that stone? From that stone to this stone. Don’t leave the area between these two stones, and no one will be able to see you!”

”This? That’s amazing?”

Chen Jie looked skeptically at the blind man, who said, ”Don’t believe me? Look, how long has that woman been glancing this way? She still hasn’t seen us, right?”

Chen Jie turned and indeed saw Qiao Hongyan looking puzzledly in his direction, frowning, but finding nothing.

Chen Jie was certain that from his position, she should have had a clear view, so why couldn’t she see him?

Confused, Chen Jie looked toward the old blind man, who touched his chest then pulled out a Water Gourd, took a sip, and said with a smile, ”You believe me now, right?”

Before Chen Jie could respond, a gust of wind brushed over his head.

Whoosh...

The next moment, a figure like a mighty eagle, arms spread, landed on top of the courtyard wall where Chen Jie had stood, right above his head.

Qin Ying!

Qin Ying surveyed the surroundings with his eagle eyes, looked down, and Chen Jie felt he should have made eye contact with Qin Ying. He readied his Stone Breaking Hand, preparing to fight for his life.

Yet Qin Ying’s gaze shifted away as if he saw nothing.

Chen Jie could even hear Qin Ying’s breathing, yet at such a close distance, he remained unseen.

What sort of trick was this?

The old blind man took another sip of water, smiling: ”You can shout at him loudly, rest assured he can’t hear, a hairbreadth’s distance like worlds apart~”
