Chapter 303: Chapter 133 Wife: Husband, I can do it_6

Chen Jie said to Xiao Hu, ”Go and select forty loyal ones with Zhou Chu; it doesn’t matter if they’re a bit lacking in strength, loyalty is the key.”

Xiao Hu nodded.

At this moment, Chen Jie also gathered all the newly hired servants in the residence.

There were a total of more than ten people.

Among them were four maids, four servants, one kitchen chef, five yard laborers, and one stableman.

Chen Jie was now someone who could afford to keep horses.

There were three horses left by Zheng Chuan in the stables, among which one was a decently good warhorse.

Additionally, there were two carriages at home; this would make it convenient for Su Yunjin to travel. Looking back at the time when their family was sent home in a carriage, it drew the attention of the whole village, and back then they never thought of owning a carriage.

Now, their dream had come true—not just one, but two carriages, plus a warhorse that could be ridden.

It could be said that their status instantly became different.

Chen Jie then said to Su Yunjin, ”Yunjin, you can take the carriage when you go out from now on.”

Su Yunjin said, ”Isn’t this too ostentatious?”

Chen Jie laughed and said, ”Wife, your status is not the same now; you’re the wife of the actual controller of the White Tiger Hall, the Fifth Master, and considered a person of standing, Xiao Hu.”

”Yes!”

Xiao Hu came over then, and Chen Jie said, ”Send someone to the tailor’s shop this afternoon to have clothes made at our residence.”

”Alright.”

Then Chen Jie said to Su Yunjin, ”Wife, this afternoon, cooperate well with the tailor and make eight to ten sets of clothes first.”

”I want some too!”

At this time, Ruirui shouted from the side.

Chen Jie said, ”Alright, we’ll make some for you too.”

Saying this, Su Yunjin said, ”Husband, you’ve just taken power; you shouldn’t do this—you’ll be resented by people.”

Chen Jie listened to this and said, ”Ha... Wife, sitting in this position, I’m bound to be resented by people, but the reason won’t be that I made a few extra sets of new clothes for you.”

”Husband...”

Chen Jie said, ”Alright, stop refusing.”

”You’ll be the housekeeper, can’t be without aura, otherwise the servants will ride over your head.”

Chen Jie spoke, and Su Yunjin said, ”I understand.”

At this time, Chen Jie looked at Xiao Hu who was beside him and said, ”Xiao Hu, summon the maids and the yard workers.”

”Yes.”

At this time, Chen Jie stood on the steps of the house. Zhou Chu came over with a grandmother chair and said, ”Sit, it looks more imposing.”

Chen Jie laughed and said, ”You also bring one.”

Zhou Chu said, ”Don’t be ridiculous; only one can be the head, naturally needs to show authority; if you both sit, what will it look like?”

Saying this, Zhou Chu said, ”You sit, madam, you stand next to him.”

Immediately, Zhou Chu said to the followers from the Fishing Guild, ”Stand up straight and show your might!”

The maids and servants in this residence were all new; if they failed to establish authority for the first time, it would be easy for wicked servants to take advantage of their masters—Zhou Chu, having been in big houses for many years, had full knowledge of such matters.

Chen Jie sat down with an air of grandeur, Su Yunjin stood beside him.

Zhou Chu and the others stood with mighty presence below, arranged in two lines; twenty Great Han men glaring with eyes, it was quite imposing.

At this time, Xiao Hu led the people in.

As they entered in a line, despite having some fanciful ideas before coming, the maids and servants were struck by today’s display.

This master seemed not easy to provoke.

Chen Jie sat upright, his eyes full of majesty. Confucius said: Only women and petty people are hard to care for; get close, they grow more demanding; keep them distant, they resent.

As for women, let’s put that aside and first talk about these petty people—petty people here did not mean vile people but referred to the servants.

If you treated them well for a long time, they wouldn’t take you seriously.

But if you kept your distance from them, being stern, they would say the master is hard to get along with.

So being a master was not easy either.

And the first meeting was even more important; if you couldn’t control them, they could fool you, thinking you were weak and could be easily bullied—some might even ride on your head and do their business.

Taking advantage of the master wasn’t unheard of.

Chen Jie swept his eyes over the group, suddenly noticing a familiar-looking little maid.

Just then, Zhou Chu also paused, yet neither spoke.

At this moment, Chen Jie looked at Su Yunjin and said, ”Yunjin, this is the Sun Family Rules given by Zhou Chu; read it out to set the rules.”

Hearing this, Su Yunjin took a deep breath, a bit nervous, since it was her first time being a housekeeper, but she steadied herself and said, ”Husband, I can do this.”

She stepped forward and said, ”Ladies and gentlemen, we’re glad you came to work for the Chen family. We are not harsh masters, but not ones to be easily bullied. The Chen family adheres to loyalty in work and sincerity in conduct.”

”Of course, saying this with empty words may not stick, so I’ll list eight family rules for everyone. As long as you abide by these, there will be no issues.”

”First: All Chen family servants are not to engage with outsiders privately, nor share information about the residence with them...”

...

”Eighth: No stealing of property or intentional damage to the master’s belongings... These are the eight family rules of the Chen Residence; any violators will face labor punishment for minor offenses, or in severe cases, be struck dead without further consideration!”

Su Yunjin’s voice was steady, her explanation clear as she recited the family rules.

The whole process was smooth, showing considerable authority as the mistress.

Chen Jie looked at his wife, who had transformed from meek and easily bullied to what she was now, and couldn’t help but smile with gratification.

He was growing, and so was his wife.

Apparently, she had spent considerable time writing those family rules; otherwise, she couldn’t have recited them so fluently.

Zhou Chu gave Chen Jie a glance, raising his thumb and said, ”She has more of a lady’s demeanor than my wife.”

Chen Jie smiled even more happily.

...

Whoo... Whoo...

On the occasion of Chen Jie’s moving into his new residence.

In a secret room of Feng Xuan’s Mansion, Feng Xuan suddenly opened his eyes, simultaneously spitting out a white vapor. The vapor formed an arrow and shot one meter away.

Moreover, this breath was long.

Seeing this, Si Xi, the protector beside him, said, ”Master, have you achieved Energy Transformation?”

A hint of a smile appeared on Feng Xuan’s face, ”Yes, Energy Transformation, finally transformed!”
