Cuiju laughed and said, ”Hehe... It’s nothing.”

Watching Cuiju’s smug expression, a maid asked, ”You wouldn’t really do anything to the master, would you?”

Cuiju said, ”Don’t talk nonsense, I’m not that kind of person.”

”Hey, hey, really.”

Cuiju remained silent while the two maids excitedly nudged her. Cuiju’s pride surfaced, feeling quite smug.

But at that moment, two other maids immediately said, ”Ah, Cuiju, you’re too awesome.”

”What Cuiju? From now on, we should be calling her Second Madam.”

”Yes, Second Madam, you’ll have to take good care of us in the future.”

”Yes, yes.”

The other two maids chimed in. Hearing this, Cuiju said, ”Sure, sure, once I become the Second Madam, I’ll increase your monthly salaries...”

Squeak...

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Yin Hongmei walked in.

Her expression was very indifferent. The three maids instantly fell silent, and Cuiju provocatively gazed at Yin Hongmei, thinking, You little servant girl, you’re just sucking up to the madam.

Just you wait, in a few days, I’ll be the Second Madam.

Then I’ll be the master and you the servant. Let’s see how proud you can be then.

Yin Hongmei ignored them and went to lie down on her own bed, covering herself with the quilt and burying her head in sleep.

The three maids glanced at each other, all disdaining Yin Hongmei.

Tch~

The three maids rolled their eyes in unison and then quietly flattered Cuiju. As long as Cuiju was successful, they would instantly change their master-servant relationship. By fostering a good relationship now, they could also benefit in the future.

Cuiju was quite pleased and said, ”Alright, alright, time to sleep. We’ve still got work to do in the morning.”

Saying that, she lay down, and the two maids followed.

In her sleep, Cuiju dreamed a beautiful dream. She was favored by the master, promoted to Second Madam, and took charge of the household affairs. Some days later, using the skills she learned from her mother to serve a man, the master grew increasingly fond of her.

She completely dominated the household; the First Madam could only wash her face with tears all day long.

She would then use her mother’s secret medicine to ensure the First Madam could never bear the master’s child. Without children, the master’s love for the First Madam faded even more.

She would fan the flames and, incidentally, place a straw figure under the First Madam’s bed with the master’s name on it, stabbed full of needles, saying she had cast a spell on the master.

As if the master wouldn’t despise her, then divorce her, and I would become the head wife, hehe...

She laughed aloud in her sleep, but while she was enjoying the dream, she suddenly felt something strangling her neck, making it hard to breathe.

At that moment, when she opened her eyes, she immediately saw a pair of indifferent eyes.

Yin Hongmei!

She recognized the owner of those eyes instantly, and then she felt the rope tightening around her neck.

Oh...

”You, what are you doing!”

At this time, Yin Hongmei’s hands were wrapped with a cloth torn from the quilt, which she looped around Cuiju’s neck. Cuiju’s face turned red as she struggled to pull the cloth away.

But Yin Hongmei turned around, knelt down, back to the bed, the cloth straining across her back; this way, she could exert her full strength.

She was only twelve years old, not as old as Cuiju, so she had to do it this way to fully exert her strength.

Oh...

Cuiju struggled desperately while Yin Hongmei, expressionless and without a hint of emotion, maintained a calm, indifferent demeanor.

Oh...

Snap!

In her struggles, Cuiju kicked the two maids beside her, waking them up in a daze, ”Oh... What’s going on?”

”Yeah, why did you kick me?”

”Uh-uh...”

Cuiju’s face had turned purple.

At that moment, the two maids realized something was wrong upon hearing the noise and suddenly opened their eyes, scared out of their wits the next moment.

”Ah, my goodness, Yin Hongmei, what are you doing?!”

Yin Hongmei paid no attention to them and continued to tighten her grip!

”Pull her off, pull her off, quick!”

The two maids frantically separated them.

”Cough, cough, cough...”

Finally able to breathe, Cuiju desperately coughed, holding her neck. After a moment to recover, she erupted in fury.

”Yin Hongmei, I’ll kill you!”

With that, she pounced, her sharp claws scratching a bloody streak across Yin Hongmei’s face.

But Yin Hongmei did not dodge or react violently; she just looked at Cuiju indifferently, as if looking at a dead person.

The two maids were horrified and quickly intervened.

”You vile creature, are you sick? Why would you kill me, you...”

Cuiju roared manically. Yin Hongmei said, ”Keep it down.”

”What?”

”I said keep it down. The house is asleep!”

”I’m almost killed by you, and you want me to keep quiet? I...”

”Yes, Hongmei, what are you doing? We all live in the same room, why would you try to kill Cuiju?”

”Yeah, why would you try to kill me?”

Cuiju asked hysterically.

Yin Hongmei’s expression remained impassive, her emotions never severely fluctuating. She then said, ”Since you’re not dead, it seems Heaven gave you a chance. Tomorrow morning, go kneel before the madam and knock your head on the floor three times, apologize to her, and swear you’ll never approach the master again. Then we can put this matter to rest!”

”You, are you crazy? What I do is none of your business. You’re ordering me around now? I will not kneel, I will go to the master; the master likes me, what’s it to you? You ugly thing, no one wants you, wretched woman!”

Cuiju ranted in frenzy.

Yin Hongmei, her expression still indifferent, replied, ”You don’t have to follow through, but I assure you, you will definitely die!”
