Chapter 314: Chapter 135 Wife: Husband, How About Taking a Concubine (Seeking Subscription of 10,000 Words)_5

”You...”

Cuiju glared at Yin Hongmei and said, ”Are you going to kill me?”

Yin Hongmei said, ”You better not sleep, if you do, you might never wake up. You better not go near the pond, you might fall in and never come out. You better not go to the kitchen, the knives there are very sharp!”

Hearing this, Cuiju’s eyes widened as she said, ”Are you trying to scare me? Believe it or not, I’ll kill you first!”

Yin Hongmei said, ”Go ahead, kill me, you will pay with your life and die too!”

”You... if you kill me, you’ll die too!”

Yin Hongmei lifted her head, a hint of a smile finally appearing on her face, and said, ”I’m not afraid!”

”You~”

*Looking at the strange smile on Yin Hong’s face, Cuiju became frightened. Could she be a madwoman? She really wanted to kill me!*

Yin Hongmei looked at Cuiju and said, ”You have a choice: bow your head in apology and never approach the master again, or face death!”

Cuiju looked at Yin Hongmei and said, ”Why are you doing this?”

”No reason, just tell me your decision!”

”I... I’ll bow my head in apology and never approach the master again!”

”Alright, sleep!”

Yin Hongmei said as she wiped the scratches on her face with the back of her hand, got into bed, covered up, and went to sleep.

The three maids looked at Yin Hongmei, cold sweat breaking out all over. *What kind of madwoman is this?*

Cuiju gave Yin Hongmei a hateful look and sat in the chair; she didn’t dare sleep again.

*She was afraid that if she fell asleep, she really might never wake up. She really wanted to kill me just now.*

Yin Hongmei, at this moment, lay with her back to the three, her eyes open, with no joy or sadness on her face. Under the pillow was a piece of paper, with only three words written on it: [Yin Hongmei]

The lady taught her to write her own name.

Although the lady asked her to call her sister, she refused, but in the past two days, she had seen everything the lady did, truly treating her like a younger sister.

And in her heart, she truly saw the lady as an older sister.

An elder sister who was gentle and kind, yet had many weaknesses.

She was gentle, so the servants felt they could bully her. Kindness meant the lady lacked thunderous means, so the servants were not afraid.

Just like today, a maid who just entered the household dared to blatantly seduce the master. If not restrained, what would it become in the future?

But she also knew that such a kind lady would find it very difficult to be ruthless.

So, since the lady couldn’t be ruthless, she would be the knife, to protect the lady who treated her like a younger sister.

...

In the morning, Chen Jie, Su Yunjin, Ruirui, and Xiao Hu were sitting at the table eating breakfast.

Yin Hongmei stood at the side, serving them sideways.

Why sideways? Because she wanted to hide her scratched face, she didn’t want the lady to see her injured face.

But Su Yunjin still noticed.

”Hong Mei.”

”Madam.”

Su Yunjin said, ”Come over here, what happened to your face?”

”It’s nothing, Madam.”

”Nothing? It’s scratched, what happened, a fight?”

Su Yunjin pulled Yin Hongmei over, speaking with concern.

Next to them, Ruirui also said, ”Oh no, Sister Hong Mei, does your face hurt?”

”Hehe, it’s fine, miss.”

Yin Hongmei replied.

”Husband, keep eating, I’ll take Hong Mei to the back to get it treated.”

”Ah, Madam, there’s no need, it’s just a small wound, please eat first.”

”What small wound, for a girl, her face is very important. Come, you follow me.”

Su Yunjin tugged at Yin Hongmei, about to lead her to the back.

But at that moment, Cuiju suddenly rushed in and knelt on the ground with a thud.

Then she kowtowed three times to Su Yunjin, leaving everyone stunned. Su Yunjin also asked, ”Cuiju, what are you doing?”

Cuiju cried and complained, ”Madam, this servant was wrong. I shouldn’t have massaged the master’s shoulders yesterday. I won’t dare to do it again, please forgive me!”

Saying this, she kowtowed three more times.

Hu Zi looked bewildered, the bun in his mouth lost its flavor; what was going on?

Ruirui chewed on the meat bun in his mouth, eyes fixed on Cuiju, not understanding what was wrong with massaging his brother-in-law’s shoulders.

Chen Jie was first taken aback, then looked over at Yin Hongmei.

And she remained expressionless; Su Yunjin turned her head to look at Chen Jie.

Chen Jie picked up his bowl of rice, blew on the porridge, pretending not to see. Some things, Su Yunjin needed to learn how to handle herself, after all, she was the housekeeper.

Su Yunjin, though weak, was not foolish. She looked at Cuiju kneeling on the ground, then at Hong Mei with the injured face, as if she understood something.

She then said, ”Oh, this matter is in the past, there’s no need to mention it again. Just do your work earnestly.”

”Alright, you can leave now.”

”Thank you, Madam.”

Cuiju immediately kowtowed in gratitude.

Chen Jie didn’t say a word from start to finish.

On the other side, Su Yunjin nodded at Chen Jie, leading Yin Hongmei to the back.

Xiao Hu said, ”Brother, what happened yesterday?”

Chen Jie looked at him and said, ”Nothing, by the way, Xiao Hu, how old are you, it’s time you got married, isn’t it? If you’ve got your eye on a girl, just tell me; I’ll go help you propose.”

”Brother, don’t trouble yourself with this, there are no girls. Right now, I just want to focus on practicing my knife skills. Girls would only slow down my blade-drawing speed.”

Chen Jie said, ”You little rascal.”

After saying that, Chen Jie continued, ”I just happen to have two good knives in my possession. Which one do you like, I’ll give you one?”

Indeed, Chen Jie had two fine knives, one was Feng San’s golden knife, the other was Zheng Chuan’s Falchion Knife.

Both were crafted with the finest craftsmanship. After he took them down, he collected the weapons.

Hearing this, Xiao Hu said, ”Hehe, I want the Falchion Knife, the golden knife is too flashy.”
