Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 944: Chapter 939: 30 Years Later

Complaining was one thing, but life still had to go on.

Thus, after venting his frustrations, Lü Yang turned his attention back to the Netherworld’s blueprint, searching for a ”weak point” that could cause the Netherworld to collapse in an instant. Eventually, his gaze landed on the Road to the Underworld.

”If the Ghost Gate is the key that allows the Netherworld to embed itself beneath the Current World, then the Road to the Underworld is the foundation that enables it to continuously expand,” Lü Yang muttered to himself. ”Therefore, as long as I tamper with the Road to the Underworld to prevent the Netherworld from guiding the True Spirits of those whose souls have scattered, the Netherworld will be unable to grow. That way, as time passes, the stagnant Netherworld—just like the Current World—will find it increasingly difficult to bear the crushing weight of the Other Shore.”

The method was the Fruit of Rampart Earth!

By utilizing the Emperor Fruit-tier Fruit of Rampart Earth, pairing it with an Overlord-level Dao Weapon, and adding the Time Shifting World Changing Dao Fruit, he could elevate its profound mystery to the extreme. Then, he would traverse the karmic links of time and space! He would travel to the era when the Netherworld was newly established and far from fully grown, tamper with the Road to the Underworld, Change Cause and Effect, and consequently cause the future Netherworld to collapse!

This was the complete picture of the Plan for the Collapse of the Other Shore.

”I have to admit, even among Emperor Fruits, the Fruit of Rampart Earth seems a cut above the rest, proving to be exceptionally overpowered,” he thought.

Lü Yang’s eyes grew brighter and brighter. This wasn’t necessarily because the Fruit of Rampart Earth was inherently that powerful; it was more likely because the Bhagavat’s existence had indirectly elevated its Position.

But then came the problem: how exactly should he tamper with the Road to the Underworld?

For him, learning the Netherworld’s blueprint itself was possible, because the First Generation Demon Taming Peak Master had dissected the entire blueprint and analyzed it thoroughly. In this regard, he was a very fast learner. However, when the issue went beyond the blueprint itself and required modifications to the design—Lü Yang’s meager Talent Skill left him at a complete loss.

”At times like this, I still have to rely on my peerless Talent Skill,” he said. ”Progenitor, save me!”

Lü Yang formed a Daoist Hand Seal and summoned Progenitor Tingyou on the spot. To his surprise, however, Progenitor Tingyou appeared to be completely lost in thought, his mind wandering far away.

”...Progenitor?” Lü Yang called out softly.

Progenitor Tingyou finally snapped back to reality, his brow furrowing deeply. ”This Netherworld blueprint... is incredibly formidable. It gives me a very familiar feeling.”

”Huh?”

Upon hearing this, Lü Yang immediately narrowed his eyes. A past speculation surfaced in his mind, but he quickly dismissed it: the First Generation Demon Taming Peak Master wasn’t dead yet!

But soon, he recalled what the Bhagavat had said earlier. In the eyes of a Master of Dao, Ang Xiao, World Purger Fei Xue, Progenitor Tingyou, and even himself seemed to share a certain commonality... And it was precisely because of this commonality that the Master of Dao acknowledged the rationality of his existence.

But the question remained: what was this commonality? That their Talent Skills were all exceptionally high?

Before Lü Yang could figure it out, Progenitor Tingyou clapped his hands together, having worked it out himself. ”That’s it! It’s very similar to my Fake Golden Position Holding Technique!”

The Nether Lord’s Position!

The Fake Golden Position Holding Technique, created single-handedly by Progenitor Tingyou, was unique in the world. Yet now, Progenitor Tingyou believed it closely resembled the Netherworld’s blueprint?

At this thought, Lü Yang immediately shifted his gaze. The highest level of the Netherworld, the name of its core component—the Netherworld Lord’s Hall!

Were they really connected?

Lü Yang’s expression changed several times. Unfortunately, there was too little related intelligence. While the similarity in names certainly sparked the imagination, it was fundamentally nothing more than baseless speculation. Therefore, after pondering for a moment, Lü Yang chose to give up and stop dwelling on it.

On the other side, Progenitor Tingyou had readjusted his mindset and began pouring his entire Heart Spirit into comprehending the Netherworld’s blueprint... Seeing his Talent Skill working so hard, Lü Yang felt relieved.

In the Celestial Court of the Profound Spirit Realm.

Lü Yang carefully left the De-Chong Talisman. During this process, he clearly sensed his past karmic links being stripped away. It was exactly like when the karmic links of his meeting with the Bhagavat had been stripped away. Only this time, what was being removed were all the karmic links of him obtaining the Netherworld’s blueprint. The related memories were completely wiped from his mind. This was not a memory manipulation like the Veil of the Trees; it was his very past directly vanishing into nothingness.

Since it never happened to begin with, how could there be any memory of it?

For a moment, Lü Yang stood there in a daze. Then, he let out a defeated sigh. ”I’m already so strong, but I still can’t clear this stage? Forget it.”

After lamenting for a while, Lü Yang simply sat down, entering Meditation to regulate his breathing. His expression remained as normal as ever, and from beginning to end, there were no anomalies in his surroundings.

Two and a half years passed in the blink of an eye.

Inside the Quiet Chamber, the cross-legged Lü Yang could finally hold it in no longer. A bead of sweat the size of a pea slowly rolled down from his neck, trailing along his back.

”It’s been so long... Has he left?” Lü Yang thought. ”He should have left! Rinima! This is exactly what’s so frustrating about the old geezer from the Stain Sect. His gaze is different from other Masters of Dao—I can’t freaking feel it!”

Lü Yang did not recover his memories. His karmic links remained in a modified state. However, just like before, Demon-Vanquishing Perfected had already informed him of the true ”history” through Spiritual perception.

At the same time, news came from Progenitor Tingyou. After two and a half years of comprehension, he had basically figured out the specific structure of the Road to the Underworld. He was confident he could plant a ”cause” without destroying its structure, thereby creating the ”effect” that would cause the Netherworld to spectacularly collapse within the Current World!

”Everything is ready; all I need is the final piece of the puzzle!” he thought.

For a moment, Lü Yang couldn’t help but feel excited. ”The only things missing are the Tribulation induction and the Overlord-level Dao Weapon. The turning point for both of these... lies thirty years from now!”

Thirty years from now, the Star Palace would finish forging the Overlord-level Dao Weapon. Similarly, thirty years from now, the Star Palace was determined to attack the Celestial Mansion. A massive war where even Perfected Lords could hardly escape death would surely be enough to trigger the Tribulation induction.

”I must stand out in all of this,” he thought. ”In the Star Palace’s campaign against the Celestial Mansion, only by becoming the deciding factor and the tide-rider of this war can I draw closer to the Tribulation, until I reach its Critical Point.”

Lü Yang silently calculated in his heart, deducing the karmic links. ”Once I reach that Critical Point, I will swallow the Position in one fell swoop and make the Dao of Arcane Body reappear in the world... That way, the Tribulation will inevitably descend upon me!”

When that time came, all the elements would be in place.

This would be the grandest undertaking he had ever attempted across his dozen or so reincarnations. Even he couldn’t predict the outcome, but it would undeniably be an unprecedented upheaval throughout the ages.

”If I succeed, I’ll have the capital to flip the board!” he thought. ”Even if I fail, I’ll still be able to gain a clearer understanding of the methods used by those Masters of Dao in the Heavens. Not to mention, such a monumental event... will surely allow me to draw an overpowered Talent Skill!”

At this thought, Lü Yang’s expression instead grew increasingly composed, all his emotions thoroughly suppressed into the depths of his heart.

”I will single-handedly trigger the Fall of the Other Shore and the apocalyptic Tribulation where the Sea of Light destroys the world. If I succeed and pull off something of this magnitude, it would be utterly unjustifiable for the Centome not to give me an overpowered Colorful Talent Skill, right?”

Looking solely at the outcome of this lifetime, if it met his expectations, he could even forfeit inheriting his Cultivation for this life and instead opt to draw a Talent Skill. As for the Cultivation, the worst-case scenario was that he simply replicated this life’s actions all over again. It would be nothing more than burning through one page of the Centome, and he now had the confidence to afford that!

And so, thirty years quickly passed...
