Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 937: Chapter 932: The Target is Me!

At this moment, Lü Yang’s expression was incredibly solemn.

”Is it from the [Other Shore]?”

However, after carefully sensing the source of the Mighty Power before him, he quickly let out a sigh of relief. ”No, it’s not the [Other Shore], it’s the [Vajra Realm]!”

The difference between the two was quite vast.

If it came from the [Other Shore], it would mean that the Bhagavat had taken action himself, or at the very least, cast a glance over. In that case, the only thing he could do was immediately sever the connection.

But from the [Vajra Realm]?

That meant the Bhagavat still had some reservations about the [Tribulation] and hadn’t acted personally. Instead, he had the Five Directions Tathagata of the [Vajra Realm] act on his behalf.

Against the former, he could only surrender; against the latter... he might just stand a fighting chance!

”The Primordial Celestial Demon and Master Chong Guang are extremely important to my [Plan for the Collapse of the Other Shore]. Absolutely nothing can go wrong. I can only bite the bullet and face it head-on.”

Despite thinking this, Lü Yang did not rush, nor did he rashly enter the scene of karmic links. Instead, he stayed outside, sensing the changes in the karmic links. After all, facing it head-on didn’t mean charging in blindly; it required a measured, slow, and methodical approach. Patience brings success, and he needed to see what the other side was planning first.

...

The scene of karmic links was a place that seemed both real and illusory.

Everything that happened here was past history, and everyone’s actions were entirely real. Afterward, they would authentically reflect in the Current World.

RUMBLE! A Thunder Sound echoed across the Heaven above.

In the Ten Thousand Martial Realm, at the Demon Suppression Mountain Range, the Primordial Celestial Demon and Minor Metal, who had been honing themselves against each other, suddenly sensed something. They raised their heads and looked toward the canopy of the sky.

”Something’s not right,” Minor Metal was the first to stand up, revealing a grave expression. ”How could there be such a phenomenon in the Ten Thousand Martial Realm? This is an outsider forcefully breaking into the Outer Realm!”

Inside the mountain, the Primordial Celestial Demon sneered. ”This Thunder Sound... it sounds a bit like a bell. It might be the Bhagavat. Daoist, you’d better leave this place first. I reckon the Bhagavat has come looking for me. This is rather interesting. Could it be that the Bhagavat is actually interested in picking me, an abandoned pawn, back up?”

Hearing this, Minor Metal glanced at the Primordial Celestial Demon.

He could actually tell that the Primordial Celestial Demon had reached some sort of deal with Lü Yang. However, the Heart Demon was filled with Impermanence; who could say for sure that the Primordial Celestial Demon wouldn’t betray him?

”Senior, do not make a mistake,” Minor Metal warned with a heavier tone.

”HEH HEH HEH...” The Primordial Celestial Demon did not answer but laughed even more cheerfully. ”Daoist, you underestimate that person way too much. How could he not think of something that you could think of?”

With that, he pointed at the mountain pressing down on his body, as well as the Thunder Talisman on it.

”Do you think these things are just for show?

”Why do you think that even though I clearly surrendered, that person still suppressed me here? It’s precisely to guard against me! He was worried that I would ruthlessly turn against him in the end.

”My entire life is now completely tied to this mountain and this talisman. If the mountain collapses, I die. He has made up his mind to suppress me until the time he needs to use me before letting me out... But it’s normal. That’s just the style of the Stain Sect. If he didn’t guard against me, I would actually be worried that he had other ulterior motives!”

As they spoke, the anomaly had already descended. ”Amitabha!” In an instant, the clouds dispersed and the atmosphere cleared within the Ten Thousand Martial Realm. Buddha Light filled the sky, strikingly reflecting four towering figures that surrounded the Demon Suppression Mountain Range.

[Vajra Realm Treasure-Born Tathagata]!

[Vajra Realm Unmoving Tathagata]!

[Vajra Realm Non-empty Tathagata]!

[Vajra Realm Beautiful Vision Tathagata]!

The four Tathagatas, residing high within the [Vajra Realm], oversaw Unity on behalf of the Bhagavat. At this moment, they all arrived together, and the ground they stood upon immediately became the Earthly Buddha Country!

For a time, the entire Ten Thousand Martial Realm was bathed in light. Radiance bloomed from the light, lotuses bloomed from the radiance, and golden rain fell in abundance. The whole Ten Thousand Martial Realm seemed to have achieved Enlightenment, instantly switching allegiances. Along with it, all living beings clasped their hands together, smiled softly, and chanted Amitabha.

Zen chants and sutra recitations rang incessantly in the ears.

”This thing...” Minor Metal looked away, not daring to stare too long. He even sealed his hearing to avoid listening to the Zen chants. This phenomenon was simply more outrageous than the corruption of his Heart Demon!

”Primordial Celestial Demon, you were given a chance, but you proved useless.” Finally, a Buddha voice descended from the Heaven and transmitted into the mountain, causing the Primordial Celestial Demon to suddenly raise an eyebrow. ”Treasure-Born, did you just come here to make sarcastic remarks?”

After speaking, he took a serious look at the four Tathagatas outside and then sneered.

”That’s not right. Your state is off.

”Although the four of you have arrived together, your combined strength is not even equal to when you were alone, Treasure-Born. Moreover, the Pure Land cannot support four Tathagatas right now. How did you get here?”

Above the Heaven, the [Vajra Realm Treasure-Born Tathagata] nodded slightly.

”Your eye is quite sharp.

”There’s no need to wonder. We did not manifest in the Current World through the Pure Land. If we had manifested there, the commotion would have been too great, and we would definitely have been discovered by that Immortal Monarch of Tribulation.”

”In that case...” The Primordial Celestial Demon’s gaze flickered upon hearing this. ”It’s the Celestial Mansion?”

The [Vajra Realm Treasure-Born Tathagata] smiled and said, ”There are many Perfected Lords in the Celestial Mansion, and we also borrowed the [Sun] Fruit. Only then were we able to gather all four of us.

”Alright, there isn’t much time. Today, the four of us have gathered to rescue you first. Once you are freed, you will have your time to stage a comeback.”

As his voice faded, the four massive Golden Buddhas took action simultaneously. RUMBLE! In a split second, four giant palms surrounded the east, west, south, and north. From top to bottom, they heavily slammed down onto the Demon Suppression Mountain Range, emitting a deafening sound.

However, what surprised the four Tathagatas was that, having manifested now, they were all Perfected Lords. Striking with full force, let alone a single mountain in the Ten Thousand Martial Realm, even the entire realm itself should have been obliterated instantly. Yet, after this strike, the Demon Suppression Mountain Range did not tremble in the slightest.

”What is going on?”

”Why is it like this?”

”This realm has already achieved Enlightenment by us. This is our home ground, so it’s impossible for it to provide even the slightest help to this mountain... Does this mean the mountain itself is peculiar?”

Soon, the gazes of the four Tathagatas landed on the Thunder Talisman attached to the mountain peak.

”Could it be this item?”

”Tear it off!” one of the Tathagatas commanded. But before he could even finish his sentence, the Thunder Talisman trembled slightly, and boundless, brilliant golden light shot out from it.

The golden light cast a body, and the Thunder Sound sculpted a form. In no time, a towering Divine General—clad in silver armor and Golden Rings, standing a full eighteen feet tall—appeared out of thin air on the mountain, lightning flashing faintly within his eyes.

[Thunder-Controlling, Axe-Wielding Demon-Suppressing Divine General]!

”Foul demons, you court death!” With a fierce expression, he unhooked the Golden Light Treasure Axe from his waist before his words even finished. Gripping it tightly, boundless lightning surged into the weapon entirely.

”Slash!” With a booming roar, the treasure axe soared into the air, illuminating all directions with dazzling light. The axe head raised toward the Heaven and then viciously cleaved down upon the Buddha Country created by the four Tathagatas above. Seeing this, the four Tathagatas hurriedly intervened to block it. Vast displays of various Buddha Lights surged forth, only to be instantly torn apart by a streak of pure golden radiance.

BOOM! At this moment, the four Tathagatas actually took a step back simultaneously. Their compassionate smiles vanished, and a massive, visible rift appeared in the Buddha Country behind them!

At the same time, outside the scene of karmic links.

”...Is that it?” Lü Yang, who was deducing with the [Fruit of Rampart Earth] while observing the scene of karmic links, frowned deeply. ”How could my seal be broken so easily? Do they really think I am an Outer Dao?”

The giant mountain sealing the Primordial Celestial Demon was formed by one of his hands, reinforced by the [Reversed Ke Chengyue Dao Fruit]. Meanwhile, the Divine General manifested from the Thunder Talisman was enlightened using the [Thunder Control and Halberd Swing Dao Fruit]. Frankly speaking, Lü Yang had invested eighty percent of his methods into this single mountain! That axe strike just now was clear proof. It appeared as though only the [Thunder-Controlling, Axe-Wielding Demon-Suppressing Divine General] had attacked, but in reality, it was linked to the seal. It was equivalent to his own hand wielding the Axe and Halberd to slay enemies right here!

How could a mere four Tathagatas block it?

”These Tathagatas manifested in the Current World through the Celestial Mansion? How could the Bhagavat be so unwise? If he really wanted to break the seal, sending the Taiyin Immortal Venerable would have made more sense.

”Unless...”

His smile vanished. At this moment, a deep chill suddenly crept up Lü Yang’s heart. He stared blankly at the Great Net of Karma Links below and gulped.

Unless this wasn’t the Bhagavat’s goal to begin with.

Then what was the Bhagavat’s goal?

”The Five Directions Tathagata... only four came. What about the last one? Where is the [Vajra Realm Great Sun Tathagata]?”

Acting on instinct, Lü Yang didn’t continue thinking. Instead, he twisted his neck inch by inch, stiffly looking behind him, his breathing almost stopping. A second later, he got his answer. Because right behind him, a Monk had appeared at an unknown time. His hands were clasped together, and he stood with a smile, observing Lü Yang with great interest.

”The Bhagavat’s target is me... I fell for it!” Lü Yang finally came to a sudden realization.

At the same time, the Monk finally spoke. ”This poor monk is Emperor Muni, residing in the [Vajra Realm] as the [Vajra Realm Great Sun Tathagata], temporarily overseeing the affairs of the mortal world.

”Almsgiver, this poor monk has wanted to meet you for a very long time... Shall we talk?”
