Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 919: Chapter 914: The Dao Court Collapses!

Relying on the formless transformation ability of a Heart Demon, combined with the fact that the Primordial Celestial Demon inherently possessed Middle Stage of Golden Core Cultivation, it was stronger than Emperor Jia You, who was currently at the Early Stage of Golden Core.

Thus, no one could see through its influence.

Soon, the scene of karmic links began to advance. Just like in official history, Emperor Jia You began directly facing the suppression of the officials led by the Daoist Court Grandmaster.

In official history, he had chosen to meet the difficulties head-on. This time, however, under the interference of the Primordial Celestial Demon, a desire for hedonism gradually grew within him, and his originally soaring fighting spirit was chipped away bit by bit.

He thought, ”Forget it.

”Even if I win, what’s the point? Once a Daoist Court Emperor reaches a thousand years of age, he must undergo the Emperor’s Ascension to Heaven. To me, the Mid-phase and the Early Stage make no difference.

”Unless I become a Great Perfected Lord, only then can I make a slight change.

”But becoming a Great Perfected Lord is too difficult. Not only must I control the imperial court, but I also have to make the Three Ministers submit completely. It feels impossibly distant, and I’d have to endure so much suffering.

”But why should I still endure this suffering? The Grandmaster wants power, so I’ll just give it to him. He doesn’t have many years left anyway. When the time comes, even in reincarnation, he’ll be stripped of his Gold Attribute with no one to protect him. He’s far less joyful than I am. Why should I fight him over this temporary superiority? I might as well just enjoy my life.”

The more Emperor Jia You thought about it, the lazier he became.

”All the suffering meant for my lifetime was already endured on my behalf when the Grand Ancestor conquered the realm! From now on, all I need to do is comfortably and peacefully enjoy my blessings!” he reasoned.

Of course, Emperor Jia You didn’t just give up all at once. Or rather, his fundamental consciousness faintly realized something was amiss. Even though he was blinded, his instincts constantly urged him to pull himself together and rise up.

However, the Primordial Celestial Demon wouldn’t give him that opportunity.

Emperor Jia You’s several attempts to rally were all secretly influenced by the demon. Whether by leaking information or causing the Emperor to make foolish mistakes himself, all his efforts were ultimately destroyed.

After more than a dozen consecutive events of karmic links, Emperor Jia You’s slight instinct to resist was completely suppressed by the Primordial Celestial Demon. In the end, he chose to give up, becoming a puppet Emperor of the Daoist Court Grandmaster.

”Hahaha! It’s done!”

Seeing this scene, the Primordial Celestial Demon immediately burst into laughter. Subsequently, the Time Shifting Device in his hand suddenly radiated intense light, sinking into endless, dense Illusionary Colors.

RUMBLE!

In the next second, the Primordial Celestial Demon escaped back to the Current World. Riding a gust of dark wind, he arrived above the imperial court of the Dao Court, revealing his true form as a young man in black robes.

Almost simultaneously, Emperor Jia You also snapped back to reality.

Although the Primordial Celestial Demon had just activated an Artifact and employed various methods—making it seem as if a long time had passed—everything had solely occurred within the scene of karmic links. In reality, only a mere instant had passed.

Yet, after this instant, when Emperor Jia You’s consciousness returned, he was no longer the same person he was a moment ago. His entire aura underwent a drastic transformation.

His formerly soaring fighting spirit turned into decadent lethargy. His Mid-stage Cultivation crashed down, regressing to that of someone who had just recently stepped into the Early Stage of Golden Core. His Cultivation plummeted rapidly, and vast swathes of memories and Knowledge were erased out of thin air. Even the scene in the imperial court underwent a significant change.

The number of capable officials drastically decreased, while sycophants drastically increased.

The Three Ministers remained unchanged, but this generation’s Three Ministers lacked capability to begin with. Thus, even with Emperor Jia You slacking off completely, no one seized the opportunity to control the imperial court.

This was also a result the Primordial Celestial Demon had long calculated.

In other words—

He thought, ”Right now, the Dao Court only has four cultivators at the Early Stage of Golden Core! With no one controlling the imperial court, no one can maximize the might of the Immortal Dao Law!”

Why did he choose to strike at the Dao Court?

The answer was simple. Because the Bhagavat had already done it once before and had abundant experience with success. For the demon to do it again was naturally a familiar path!

”Moreover, the Daoist Court Daoist Lord won’t interfere,” he mused. ”The crux of the Heaven’s Mandate Dao lies in the ’Heaven’s Mandate.’ Let alone the deaths of a few Perfected Lords, even if the Celestial Wu Royal Family was wiped out, as long as the Immortal Dao Law remains, the heavens of the East won’t overturn. At most, it would just be an exchange of new blood.”

The Primordial Celestial Demon let out a maniacal laugh.

In the next second, the dark wind it had transformed into blew into the bodies of Emperor Jia You, the Grandmaster, the Grand Tutor, and the Grand Protector. As for the officials filling the court, it paid them no mind.

”I’ll eat them!”

The Primordial Celestial Demon split into four, truly gorging itself. The Souls of the Grandmaster, the Grand Tutor, and the Grand Protector collapsed first. It wasn’t long before they were devoured clean.

Emperor Jia You managed to hold on for a brief moment. However, he was no longer the authoritative Emperor who solely ruled the East. With his karmic links altered, he was now just a puppet Emperor who had been decadent for hundreds of years. Even with the partial reinforcement of the Immortal Dao Law he invoked, he could not resist being devoured by the Heart Demon.

BOOM!

A moment later, a uniform, explosive boom rang out. Surprisingly, the Dao Court’s four Golden Cores exploded simultaneously just like that, yet not a single drop of Qi and Blood Magical Power leaked out.

All that fell were empty shells.

As for their insides, they had been devoured completely clean by the Primordial Celestial Demon!

In an instant, inside and outside the Dao Court, Four Fruit Position Stars lit up simultaneously. Almost immediately, this drew the prying eyes of Perfected Lords from all over, followed by earth-shattering, furious roars:

”They all perished!?”

”The Three Ministers are one thing, but how could Emperor Jia You perish? He possessed Mid-stage Cultivation. Even if he perished, he should be able to return immediately.”

”It seems they are completely dead?”

”That’s impossible!”

Under the shocked and furious gazes of the Perfected Lords, the Primordial Celestial Demon’s figure emerged. Holding the Time Shifting Device in his hand, a wicked smile hung on the corners of his mouth.

”Impossible? Hahaha, nothing is impossible!”

Immediately after, he raised a finger and placed it against his upturned lips. ”The next one will be you!”

Before his voice even faded, the Primordial Celestial Demon dissipated with the wind. He wasn’t the least bit worried that someone would discover his methods; after all, Changing Cause and Effect was simply too covert.

And the unknown often brings fear.

This was also why the Primordial Celestial Demon hadn’t just left, but rather intentionally showed himself, leaving behind a single sentence before departing. It was precisely to amplify this fear of the unknown.

He thought, ”Fear me!

”In this era where the Dao Heart is understood by no one, the more they fear me, the less they can control their thoughts, and the easier it is for me, as a Heart Demon, to exploit their vulnerabilities!”

Thinking of this, the Primordial Celestial Demon once again brought out the Time Shifting Device. He formed a different Daoist Hand Seal, flipping this Marvelous Treasure over and transforming it into the Time Shifting Device, reverting Emperor Jia You’s tampered karmic links back to normal.

”Phew...!”

In an instant, Emperor Jia You reverted back to the Middle Stage of Golden Core; however, he had already been devoured by the Primordial Celestial Demon.

Therefore, his Resurrection was impossible. But correspondingly, the gains the Primordial Celestial Demon received could instantly shift from the Early Stage of Golden Core back to the Middle Stage of Golden Core!

”Heh heh heh...”

Accompanied by a wicked laugh, the Primordial Celestial Demon felt a surging, quintessential power emerge out of nowhere, instantly nourishing his demonic body.

In an instant, his Cultivation advanced greatly.

”With four Golden Core Souls swallowed by me, I can totally use this to refine a True Treasure specifically for a Heart Demon, further elevating my Position and combat power.”

Thinking of this, he wasn’t in a rush to continue attacking.

”I’ll rest and recuperate for a few days first.” He formed a Daoist Hand Seal, igniting a cluster of Yin Fire at his fingertips. ”Once I finish Refining the four Demon Artifacts, I’ll go and take the life of that Immortal Monarch of Tribulation!”
