A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Sister Zhou, You Misunderstood

Director Li is quite open-minded and holds no grudges at all.

”It’s nothing, everything is in the past, besides, this time I’m asking you for help.”

Mu Yan immediately said, ”You’re too kind, Director. Thank you for your trust.”

Director Li asked, ”I’m well aware of your acting skills, so there’s no need for an audition. Let’s go take the character photo first, you’ll be on set tomorrow. You should have no problems with the lines, right?”

”Don’t worry, Director, no problem,” Mu Yan replied.

”Alright.”

Not long after Mu Yan left, Zhou Lifen came over and asked Director Li, ”Director Li, I heard the actor for Shen Qiuci is in place? I’ll be acting opposite her tomorrow, I need to get familiar first.”

Looking at Zhou Lifen, Director Li smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, you know this person very well.”

Zhou Lifen was a bit surprised, ”Who?”

”You’ll find out soon enough.”

Zhou Lifen’s brows furrowed slightly, so mysterious?

She was just speaking casually, after all, the fourth female lead is nothing to worry about for her.

Song Cheng’an escorted Mu Yan to the door of the makeup room and then left.

He had other directors to visit here, and since Mu Yan was familiar with the place, he felt at ease.

But before he left, he said, ”As soon as Director Li heard it was you, he immediately agreed, so work hard.”

Mu Yan felt a touch of emotion, blaming herself for her past foolishness that allowed Zhou Lifen to manipulate her, failing Director’s good intentions.

In the makeup room, several actresses were doing their makeup, and they were somewhat surprised to see Mu Yan come in.

Fan Youyou directly asked, ”Mu Yan, why are you back again?”

Mu Yan smiled, ”Yes, I’m back.”

Fan Youyou walked closer, pulling her to the side, and whispered, ”Are you crazy, going back to being Zhou Lifen’s stand-in again? Wasn’t the torture bad enough last time?”

Fan Youyou was aware of her situation in the crew, and in her urgency, blurted out these ”rebellious” words.

”No, this time I’m playing Shen Qiuci,” Mu Yan replied.

Hearing this, the others were surprised; Shen Qiuci is a very important supporting role in the later stages.

The original actress had all her scenes cut due to drug use, and since she hadn’t filmed much anyway, they simply found someone to reshoot. Unexpectedly, it was Mu Yan.

Fan Youyou chuckled, ”Really? That’s great, we can act together.”

Mu Yan smiled; what a naive girl.

She greeted the others and then asked the makeup artist to do her makeup.

She was quite familiar with the makeup artist as well, and the atmosphere was pleasant.

It wasn’t long before her makeup was done; given the setting of a Republican-era drama and Shen Qiuci being an intellectual, there was no need for a special makeup look.

Mu Yan got up and was about to open the door to leave, when the door was pushed open and Zhou Lifen walked in.

Zhou Lifen saw Mu Yan, her expression changed slightly, and she blurted out, ”What are you doing here?”

Mu Yan looked at her and calmly said, ”Hello, Sister Zhou.”

In public, she wasn’t foolish enough to tear her apart.

Zhou Lifen suddenly smiled, ”Looks like you’ve come around, planning to be my stand-in again?”

Mu Yan’s lips twitched, but she didn’t respond.

Zhou Lifen crossed her arms over her chest, a beautiful smile deepening on her face, but there was a hint of disdain in her eyes, ”You were the one who said no before, and now you’re the one who wants back in. How can I agree if you don’t show some sincerity?”

Mu Yan was about to speak when Fan Youyou suddenly stepped forward and said, ”Sister Zhou, you’ve misunderstood. This time Mu Yan is playing Shen Qiuci.”
