A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Why Is Your Face Swollen?

When Mu Yan woke up the next morning, she found that her face was swollen.

She had to admit, Sun Hao sure had a strong grip yesterday.

She changed her clothes and went downstairs, just in time to see Jiang Jingheng having breakfast.

She walked over to greet him, ”Young Master Jiang, morning.”

”Morning.” Jiang Jingheng looked at her, nodded, but his gaze lingered on her face.

Mu Yan went over to the dining table and said, ”Young Master Jiang, thank you for yesterday.”

Jiang Jingheng’s attention was all on her face, he frowned and said, ”What’s wrong with your face?”

Mu Yan instinctively touched her face and laughed, ”It’s nothing, my wisdom tooth is inflamed, so my face is swollen.”

Jiang Jingheng withdrew his gaze and said indifferently, ”Is that so? Then take some anti-inflammatory medication.”

”Mm.” Mu Yan nodded, lowered her head, and drank her porridge.

The dining table was silent. Before long, Jiang Jingheng finished eating and prepared to go to work.

Just as he reached the door, he suddenly turned around and looked at Mu Yan, ”Stay at home today, someone will come by in the afternoon.”

Hearing this, Mu Yan felt a little nervous. She blurted out, ”Who?”

Jiang Jingheng raised an eyebrow, ”Are you scared?”

Mu Yan forced a laugh, ”Not really, just thought I should prepare.”

Jiang Jingheng’s lips slightly curved, ”No preparation needed, it’s not someone important, relax.” With that, he turned and walked outside.

Mu Yan watched his back, unable to help but complain internally, if it’s not someone important, why make her stay at home?

She originally wanted to go to the hospital to see Mu Chen, but it seemed like that plan had fallen through.

Shengyuan Group, thirtieth floor, CEO’s office.

Jiang Jingheng sat behind his desk looking at files, his pen rapidly signing documents.

His handsome face showed no emotion, and the cold aura around him made people feel oppressed.

Lian Jun stood in front, recounting last night’s events.

”That Sun Hao saw Young Madam yesterday, got illicit ideas, and drugged her drink, but Young Madam noticed. During the scuffle, Young Madam kicked him in the groin and left with Qin Xi, the rest we all saw.”

He cautiously glanced at Jiang Jingheng, didn’t he report this matter last night? Why ask again.

”He hit Mu Yan?” Jiang Jingheng’s voice was icy.

Lian Jun froze for a moment, recalled the person’s description, and his face instantly changed.

”Yes, that’s right, Sun Hao got kicked by Young Madam, and out of anger, he hit Young Madam.”

Young Madam didn’t really suffer in this matter, but he dared not say that.

”Such an important matter, and you report it only now?” Jiang Jingheng coldly looked at him.

Lian Jun lowered his head and respectfully said, ”It was my dereliction of duty.”

He thought that since Sun Hao tried to take advantage of Young Madam and had already offended the young master, there was no need to mention it.

Who knew the young master was so protective.

Jiang Jingheng asked again, ”How’s the investigation on the Sun Family going?”

”Rest assured, young master, the Sun Family’s shady dealings will soon be exposed, and not only will their company go bankrupt, but they also won’t escape legal punishment.” Lian Jun responded.

”Mm.” Jiang Jingheng gave an almost imperceptible nod and continued looking at the files.

Lian Jun let out a sigh of relief, did he dodge a bullet?

Facing a displeased boss first thing in the morning, as an assistant, he also suffered.

He realized now that offending anyone was better than offending Young Madam.

At this moment, the secretary knocked and entered, ”Boss, Young Master Song is here.”
