Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 996: Chapter 1038: I Want to See Your Boss

The taxi driver nodded, ”Yes! All of them! This is the headquarters building of the Huo Tian Group! There are many more branches in Jin City!”

”Okay, thank you!” Ling’s father nodded, painfully handed the money to the taxi and got out of the car!

Standing at the entrance of Huo Tian Group, Ling’s father raised his head, extending his index finger, counting layer by layer upwards, ”One layer, two layers, three layers... thirty layers...!”

The higher he counted, the more violently Ling’s father’s hand trembled!

At this moment, the phone in his pants pocket rang! Ling’s father took out his phone, glanced at the caller ID, saw it was Ling Yueyue’s number, thought for a moment, and then hung up without hesitation!

Just after hanging up, it immediately rang again! Ling’s father directly hung up again.

After repeating this many times, Ling Yueyue finally stopped calling!

After putting the phone back into his pocket, Ling’s father gathered his courage and walked towards Huo Tian Group!

As soon as he reached the door, a doorman stopped him, ”Sorry, this is Huo Tian Group, unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside!”

”I am not unauthorized, I want to see your boss, Huo Junmo!” To Ling’s father, he didn’t know what President Huo was, he only knew the boss in the factory, so he naturally referred to Huo Junmo as the boss!

After hearing Ling’s father’s address and seeing Ling’s father dressed so shabbily, the doorman’s eyes couldn’t conceal his disdain, but he didn’t show it on his face and still maintained that serious demeanor, seriously said, ”Sorry, do you have an appointment? If you don’t have an appointment, you can’t see President Huo!”

Ling’s father touched his head, confused, and asked, ”To see your boss, do I need an appointment?”

The doorman nodded, keeping his face stiff, and said seriously, ”Of course! Our President Huo is so busy every day, if everyone came and said they wanted to see our President Huo, wouldn’t he be overwhelmed! If you don’t have an appointment, please leave and don’t disturb our work!”

”This... this...!” Being told this by the doorman, Ling’s father suddenly panicked and didn’t know what to do!

The doorman looked Ling’s father up and down, his disdain even more evident, his tone even colder, ”Please leave, or we will call the security!”

”Oh!” Ling’s father had always stayed in the countryside, had never seen much of the world, and being threatened by the doorman like this, he dared not say anything more and turned around to leave reluctantly!

However, he didn’t go far but wandered around the road near the stairs of the Huo Tian Group building!

He was waiting, waiting for Huo Junmo to come out of the company, so he could run up to him and tell him he was Ling Yueyue’s father and then take this opportunity to ask him for money!

.........

On the other side, Ling Yueyue was standing in the empty hotel room, repeatedly calling Ling’s father, but Ling’s father wasn’t answering!

Seeing Ling’s father still not answering the phone, an ominous premonition rose in Ling Yueyue’s heart!

He said yesterday he would come to send money today! Yet, her father was nowhere to be found!

From what she knew about her father, knowing she was sending money, it was impossible for him to disappear, much less hang up on her calls!

Unless... unless... unless he encountered something more beneficial to him!

But... what could it be? The news of her marriage to Huo Junmo hadn’t been published in newspapers or magazines, her father couldn’t possibly know she married Huo Junmo!

Even if her father had seen Huo Junmo yesterday, there was no way he would know his identity!

So what exactly was going on? No matter how much Ling Yueyue thought, she just couldn’t understand! At this moment, she had no clue and was completely at a loss!

Without any leads, Ling Yueyue resorted to luck and went to the long-distance bus station, hoping to find some clues about her father’s whereabouts!

After a round of inquiries, there was still no result!

Seeing that she couldn’t find any trace of her father, Ling Yueyue decided not to search anymore, and directly took a taxi to her workplace!

Ever since marrying Huo Junmo, she had arranged with the foreman to move all her working hours to the daytime! During the day, when Huo Junmo wasn’t home, she could use school as an excuse to go to work! But if she returned too late at night, she was afraid it would be hard to explain to Huo Junmo! Luckily, the foreman was kind and understood the difficulties of being a student and readily agreed, adjusting all her shifts to the daytime.

As Ling Yueyue arrived at her workplace, Huo Junmo also drove to the company’s entrance!

Because a branch company had an emergency, he rushed over in the morning to handle it, so he didn’t reach the headquarters until nearly noon.

When he was driving to the underground garage, he spotted Ling’s father wandering by the roadside with a glance! His sharp eyes immediately squinted, his delicate thin lips tightly pressed into a line! The steering wheel in his hand hesitated for a moment, then finally turned into the underground parking lot.

After parking the car in the underground parking lot, Huo Junmo directly took the elevator to the top floor president’s office.

Entering the office, Huo Junmo took off his coat, hung it up, took out a pack of cigarettes from the drawer of his desk, pulled one out, lit it with a lighter, then walked to the window, crossed his legs, his tall body leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window, smoking while looking at the scenery below!

From the thirtieth floor, the people and cars on the street below looked like ants! However, among the countless little dots, he could still clearly see one black dot pacing back and forth along the roadside.

The cigarette was quickly finished, Huo Junmo went to sit behind his desk, threw the cigarette butt into the ashtray, picked up his desk phone, and dialed out!

The phone was quickly answered, a sweet female voice responded, ”Huo Tian Group front desk, how may I help you!”

Huo Junmo said in a deep voice, ”This is Huo Junmo, go bring up the man standing by the roadside entrance, wearing a gray T-shirt, about fifty years old, with dark skin!”

”Okay, please hold on, President!” The sweet female voice nodded, hung up, walked out of Huo Tian Group, glanced around the entrance, spotted the man Huo Junmo mentioned at once, hurried over with a polite smile, respectfully said, ”Sir, our President would like to see you, please come with me!”

Ling’s father was slightly taken aback and asked, somewhat confused about the situation, ”Your President? Is it Huo Junmo?”

Seeing him call the President by name, the receptionist’s smile stiffened for a moment, then she nodded, ”Yes, it’s our President Huo!”

Upon hearing it was Huo Junmo, Ling’s father hurriedly nodded, ”He wants to see me? Okay, okay, I’ll go with you, I meant to see him, I have something for him!”

”Please follow me!” The receptionist forced a smile and made a gesture of invitation to Ling’s father.
